BRITE N LOVELY and GLENELEVEN were both back out of position at dispatch with GLENELEVEN breaking shortly after the start losing all chance.
PRECIOUS MOMENT broke racing into the first bend.
PRECIOUS MOMENT broke again passing the 1400 metres.
DRAGON SUN broke near the 400 metres when racing in the trail.
PRECIOUS MOMENT broke again near the 300 metres inconveniencing BRITE N LOVELY.
BRITE N LOVELY trotted roughly over the concluding stages.

LUCKY THREE over-raced through the early and middle stages before improving to lead passing the 1200 metres.
 
Race 3 BMD CREATIVE HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
The required veterinary clearance for THIS AIN'T TENNESSEE was received.
ROCK DIVA tangled for several strides at the start.
GO COLLECT and THIS AIN'T TENNESSEE both broke over the early stages.
After approximately 200 metres NERIDA FRANCO, which was leading, broke and settled in midfield before galloping again shortly after.
NERIDA FRANCO was momentarily inconvenienced entering the back straight the final time when NATURAL COURAGE shifted down to the marker line.
KIA KAHA (favourite) lead up the body of the field in behind the two clear leaders but was under pressure on the final bend and weakened to finished in 9th placing, beaten 21 lengths. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormality. Driver G O'Reilly reported that the mare had paced roughly throughout and that this was probably due to the off-fore shoe partially coming away.
Authorisation of 4th placing being awarded to NERIDA FRANCO was withheld until Stewards confirmed that NERIDA FRANCO had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when galloping on the first bend.
Driver C Thornley (NERIDA FRANCO) reported that the mare had galloped after he had activated the hopple shorteners.

STONEY EYRE was caught three wide without cover through the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field.
TANGOS DELIGHT was held up on the final bend.
COURTNEY JOHN was held up through the middle stages of the run home. Driver M Neilson advised she did not activate the removable deafeners as a result.
 
Race 5 THE LLOYD HUBBER MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
Driver B Williamson was questioned regarding the performance of MONTY PYTHON (favourite) which lead up and was run down into 4th place, beaten 2.6 lengths. Mr Williamson stated that he could only put the performance of the gelding down to over-racing when leading which had taken its toll over the concluding stages.
When questioned regarding the performance of PRESTINE (2nd favourite), driver K Butt advised that the mare was not suited being left in the open outside the leader.
 
Race 6 SIGNBIZ MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BOOSTER broke at the start and settled at the rear. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.
Approaching the 1000 metres ALBUQUERQUE (G Pearson) and BOOSTER (C DeFilippi) locked wheels after ALBUQUERQUE shifted ground marginally with BOOSTER breaking and losing all chance.
 
Race 7 EUROBLAST MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MANINTHEMIRROR broke badly in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier record.
JEANIE POPS broke shortly after the start also losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier record.
SIFTY TUESDAY (favourite) hung outwards shortly after the start and settled in midfield. This mare then continued to hang out at various stages of the running.
PATRICK BEE hung inwards when improving three wide approaching the 1600 metres.
SUDDEN IMPACT broke for several strides near the 600 metres and was then held up on the final turn and in the early stages of the run home.
YIPPE KI YAY hung inwards and contacted several marker pegs on the final turn when racing towards the rear.
SUDDEN IMPACT ran out of racing room entering the home straight and then locked wheels with BETTOR IN THE DARK for several strides with SUDDEN IMPACT pacing roughly thereafter.
When questioned regarding the performance of IRON MAN (winner), Trainer D Dempsey stated that the gelding had trialled well leading into the event which was it's first race back from a spell and had received an economical trip throughout.
 
Race 8 SMART SPARKS RESIDENTIAL MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
BIG EARS raced erratically in the score up.
CLASSY BOYZ and BIG EARS broke prior to dispatch losing considerable ground.
MONKEY LUCK and VISUALISE both broke shortly after the start.
SHPEEDY hung in and contacted several marker pegs approaching the 1000 metres.
BIG EARS hung inwards and trotted roughly on the final bend.
 
Race 9 NATURAL LIVING HOMES HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
SOUNDS SWIFT and FLORIN both broke at the start.
NORTHVIEW GAMBLER broke after approximately 200 metres losing considerable ground.
NORTHVIEW GAMBLER broke again near the 300 metres.
CHANGE THE RULZ was held up early until inside the 100 metres with driver R May briefly dropping his right foot from the sulky foot-rest.
