Race 1 DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
JOSEPH H trotted roughly through the early stages.
PYRAMID MAGIC and EXPLOSIVE STAR were both held up on the final bend.
BLINK trotted roughly rounding the final bend and over the concluding stages.
BEYOND A JOKE broke near the 100 metre mark and failed to settle for the remainder of the race.
JOSEPH H which was leading trotted roughly then broke passing the 100 metre mark before gaining its correct gait over the concluding stages. The Stewards lodged a protest pursuant to Rule 870(3) in relation to the 4th placing being awarded to JOSEPH H. The connections did not wish to contest the Protest and JOSEPH H was subsequently disqualified.
The Stewards lodged a further protest against the promoted BEYOND A JOKE which dead-heated for 4th placing also pursuant to Rule 870(3). The connections once again did not wish to contest the protest and BEYOND A JOKE was also disqualified from the event.
Driver M Williamson (PYRAMID MAGIC) and N Williamson (JOSEPH H) both advised they did not activate their respective horse's removable deafeners.
 
Race 2 THE PARK FUNCTION & EVENTS PACE Video  Video 
BAD LOVER BOY and FRANCO TEXAS both broke at the start with FRANCO TEXAS losing considerable ground.
KAZZACAN raced keenly through the middle stages.
FRANCO TEXAS raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.
 
Race 3 palaMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GUPTA'S CULLEN raced fiercely when being restrained to the back of the field through the early stages.
Racing into the first bend EASTBURN MARA (K Butt) which was being restrained struck the sulky wheel of MOTU MOONBEAM (N Williamson) which was attempting to cross over EASTBURN MARA. As a result the tyre and tube came adrift from MOTU MOONBEAM over the final 200 metres.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT was held up on the final bend and throughout the run home.
ALEXY broke when being steadied near the 150 metres after being awkwardly placed to the inside of TUSCALOOSA. When questioned in relation of the breaking ALEXY, driver M Neilson advised that ALEXY had been racing keenly and she had anticipated a run to the inside of TUSCALOOSA which did not eventuate and ALEXY broke after being restrained.
Drivers R McIlwrick (PAT'S LEGACY) and M Neilson (ALEXY) both advised they did not activate the removable deafeners on their respective runners.
The Stewards questioned Junior Horsewoman K Butt (with the assistance of B Barclay) and N Williamson regarding the incident on the first bend when MOTU MOONBEAM crossed over in front of EASTBURN MARA. Mr Williamson advised the Stewards that he believed he had given EASTBURN MARA sufficient room when crossing over into the first bend and that EASTBURN MARA had contributed to the incident when over-racing and shifting outwards after being crossed. Miss Butt advised that it was tight however her horse had over-raced and had shifted outwards and she was not aware that contact had been made between EASTBURN MARA and the sulky wheel of MOTU MOONBEAM. After hearing from both drivers the Stewards were satisfied that EASTBURN MARA had contributed to the incident and no one horse or horseman was responsible with no further action necessary.
 
Race 4 SPEIGHTS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
GREY FERNCO over-raced in the middle stages.
TRICK STAR hung inwards round the final bend when attempting to improve its position three wide. TRICK STAR continued to lay inwards in the home straight when being driven out. When questioned regarding the performance of TRICK STAR, driver J Cox reported it had trotted roughly throughout and never felt comfortable in its gait. Stewards requested a veterinary examination of TRICK STAR which failed to detect any abnormalities.
GREY FERNCO trotted roughly when commencing to tire with 300 metres to run.
 
Race 5 KEEP IT CLEAN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FERN FEVER paced roughly in the score up.
WAIHEMO ART hung in the score up and was back out of position at the dispatch point. WAIHEMO ART then commenced to pace roughly through the early stages. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of WAIHEMO ART.
COVER DRIVE broke at the start and failed to settle for a considerable distance and was retired from the event by driver B McLellan. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of COVER DRIVE with B McLellan advising he would no longer be persevering with the gelding from his stable.
Racing into the first bend DUCKS DELUXE hung outwards then broke resulting in checks to CREAM IT CULLEN, FLAMBOYANT, PAY ME IDEAL, MISS STELLA and FERN FEVER. A warning was placed on the racing manners of DUCKS DELUXE.
WAIHEMO ART was held up on the final bend and through the early stages of the run home. WAIHEMO ART then paced roughly just prior to the finish.
Driver B Orange reported that the cord on the removable deafeners broke when he attempted to activate them on FLAMBOYANT.
 
Race 6 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK PACE Video  Video 
BILLY KLONDIKE broke badly at the start and took no serious part in the race with the connections being advised a warning was placed on the geldings standing start manners.
SUNNIVUE BAY BOY and NEVER EYRE also broke at the start.
WARP POWER hung on the final bend and continued to hang inwards in the home straight and was reluctant to shift outwards for driver B Orange.
MINSTREL BOY and THE BLACK were both held up on the final bend and denied clear racing room for the majority of the run home.
 
Race 7 RICOH MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
There were no claims lodged for LIONELS MEDDLE.
RAPHOE broke in the score up and took no competitive part of the race with a warning being placed on the geldings mobile barrier manners.
HERETIC FRANCO pulled hard throughout the race.
THE PERSUADER never received clear racing room in the straight with driver B Williamson advising he did not activate the removable deafeners.
When questioned regarding the performance of the winner SPIRIT OF CHRONOS, trainer E Latimer advised that SPIRIT OF CHRONOS had trained well throughout the week and had performed well at its previous start before breaking on the home turn. Mr Latimer further added that he felt the SPIRIT OF CHRONOS had been well driven this evening.
Co-trainer G Knight advised the Stewards LIONELS MEDDLE would now be retired from his stable.
