Race 3 - TWIZEL COMBINED SERVICES CLUB MOBILE PACE
When spoken to regarding the performance of ELI LOWE, trainer B Norman advised that ELI LOWE had shown no ill effects from its previous run. He further advised he put the disappointing performance down to the manner in which the race was run when ELI LOWE worked hard over the early stages.

Race 1 SOUTHLAND HARNESS AWARDS 16 AUGUST MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SALLY MACLENNANE hung inwards at the start and broke shortly afterwards losing its chance. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier manners of the filly.
BLACK GEORGE tired rounding the final bend after racing in the parked position throughout.
COVER DRIVE (B McLellan) hung inwards on the final bend and raced inside several pylons when racing to the inside of BLACK GEORGE (M McAuley). When questioned regarding this driver B McLellan confirmed that the horse had hung inwards and that he was placed in restricted room further by the tiring BLACK GEORGE. Ms McAuley will be spoken to in relation to this incident in the near future.
When questioned regarding the performance of ELLE CLASSIQUE driver A Armour advised he had received every opportunity during the running and added he was somewhat surprised by the favouritism.
 
Race 2 UNITED VIDEO MOBILE BARRIER TROT Video  Video 
SCOTTIE TROUBLE, EASY MOMENT, and WOTUDOIN all broke at the start with EASY MOMENT and WOTUDOIN both losing their chance in the event.
GRACE O'MALLEY broke near the 1400 metres.
LAST LOVE tired passing the 600 metres.
MISS COCO raced wide on the track prior to the home straight dictating CONALL CERNACH wider on the track. Driver F Service was warned pursuant to Rule 869(4) for the manner he drove at this stage of the race.
BLINK and MISS COCO both trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
B Orange (LAST LOVE) reported he had received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
Trainer G Thomas requested the whip be placed back on the gear of CONALL CERNACH for future starts.
 
Race 3 REGENT CAR COURT CLAIMERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
KILKENNY TURK and RUSSET NORKOTAH both paced roughly racing into the first bend.
MONTANA MANDY paced roughly through the middle stages.
HAYTON HANOVER raced keenly in the parked position through the middle stages when the pace eased.
SNOW RAKER was held up rounding the final bend.
LIS IS FINE hung inwards passing the 200 metres with driver N Williamson taking corrective measures immediately with RUSSET NORKOTAH being briefly inconvenienced as a result.
SNOW RAKER was claimed from this event by C Ferguson.
 
Race 4 WOODLANDS MOTORS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
STRATHMORES CHARM broke at the start.
Racing into the first bend BLACKGUARD'S CORNER broke.
DWINDLE MIST hung inwards near the 1900 metres and again when negotiating the same bend with 900 metres to run.
Passing the 600 metres JOSEPH H broke when leading and failed to settle.
Passing the 500 metres BLACKGUARD'S CORNER broke again when negotiating around the outside of the breaking JOSEPH H.
B Williamson elected not to activate the removable deafeners on the winner MONTY PYTHON due to having the field covered.
BLACKGUARD'S CORNER was placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer B Gray.
 
Race 5 FIRST IN WINDSOR FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ASHLEIGHS FLIGHT raced greenly and hung outwards in the score up and was reluctant to take up its position at the start.
LOUDES FRANCO broke shortly after the start and again passing the 1000 metres with the mare being retired from the event. A warning was placed on the racing manners of LOUDES FRANCO.
JESSICA SANCHEZ raced roughly into the first bend and then raced keenly passing the 1000 metres when the pace eased.
FLASHING GOOD TIME ran out of racing room over the concluding stages.
Stewards questioned driver J Dunn (ASHLEIGHS FLIGHT) regarding the filly's disappointing performance. Mr Dunn advised ASHLEIGHS FLIGHT had become agitated during the preliminary and raced greenly throughout. Mr Dunn further added he anticipated the filly would improve from today's outing.
 
Race 6 ROGERSONS FOOTWEAR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
JACCKA EMBERZ sprung its off fore shoe in the preliminary and this was removed prior to the start.
LAURAS LEGACY broke briefly as the start was effected inconveniencing BEAUDIENE BEAUT BABE on its outside.
LAUGHING CAVALIER and JERRY FITZ were both held up on the final bend.
BEAUDIENE BEAUT BABE hung inwards rounding the final bend placing driver J Cox in difficulty. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare driver J Cox advised that BEAUDIENE BEAUT BABE had run outwards in its previous start and they had made gear alterations in an attempt to rectify that issue. Mr Cox added he recommended further gear alterations in an attempt to overcome the issues experienced today. Stewards subsequently ordered a post-race veterinary examination of BEAUDIENE BEAUT BABE which revealed no clinical abnormalities.
 
Race 7 HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLEY WHITE- EAT ON WINDSOR HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
RORY MACH shifted in sharply and broke at the start.
JACCKA MARA broke over the early stages.
ACOLYTE paced roughly through the early stages.
LIONELS MEDDLE hung on the final bend when attempting to improve its position three wide.
DEVIL MAY CARE had to be straightened in the early stages of the run home after shifting inwards onto LIONELS MEDDLE.
 
Race 8 SUBWAY WINDSOR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RORY was declared a late scratching at 6.20 pm on Saturday evening due to the gelding being sold.
Approaching the 800 metres NOTHINGFORTHEMEDIA and ARIZONA PETE both had to be steadied when there was an easing of the pace.
Passing the 700 metres TOMMY GOLIGHTLY which was leading hung outwards when tiring despite the efforts of driver B Orange who was attempting to straighten the gelding. As a result the trailing ROCK TILL YOU DROP and PAULA'S ON FIRE were able to improve on its inside.
NOTHINGFORTHEMEDIA was held up by the tiring TOMMY GOLIGHTLY near the 500 metres.
NOTHINGFORTHEMEDIA hung inwards rounding the final bend and struck a pylon.
TISBURY HARDLIFE had difficulty obtaining clear running in the final straight.
NOTHINGFORTHEMEDIA broke briefly near the 50 metres then recovered its gait however it paced roughly over the concluding stages.

FRANCO CORTESE underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after the gelding had stumbled and fell while being paraded onto the track and was subsequently cleared to start.
TED CADY hung in the score up and was reluctant to come into position.
KAZZACAN was held up on the final bend.
GANGNAM STYLE was held up in the early stages of the home straight.
FRANCO CORTESE hung inwards over the concluding stages.
