General
Random drug and alcohol testing of Horsemen was carried out at this meeting.
Open Horseman C Kennett was charged with a breach of Rule 512(2) in that he failed to provide a sample at a time and place nominated by the Racecourse Investigator. Due to Mr Kennett having left the course this charge was opened and adjourned sine die. In accordance with Rule 514(1) Mr Kennett's Open Horseman's licence was automatically suspended until the Judicial Committee issues a final decision.

LAST LOVE broke shortly after the start.
LIMA LAD was slow in the early stages and lost contact with the main body of the field.
ASTRAL RULER trotted roughly passing the 1800 metres and had to be restrained by Driver P Williamson.
SUNNIVUE SADONA broke briefly passing the 1700 metres.
ASTRAL RULER hung inwards rounding the final bend and then was held up in the initial stages of the run home.
HENGROEN had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
LIMA LAD trotted roughly passing the 200 metres.
HENGROEN broke near the 100 metres.
BLINK trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
The offside number on SUNNIVUE SADONA hung loose during the running.
Driver N Buchan reported that she was unable to activate the removable deafeners on THE EARTH MOVED due to the cord becoming entangled.

PURE GRIT was briefly placed in restricted room when being restrained in the early stages.
ROMANCING over raced in the middle stages.
JESSICA SANCHEZ was obliged to race four wide from the 500 metres.
NIGHT TACTICS was held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
PURE GRIT hung inwards throughout the home straight.
SEDUCE ME raced greenly over the concluding stages.
JESSICA SANCHEZ was cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
 
Race 3 KEEP IT CLEAN JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
NEVER EYRE raced greenly in the score up and was back at the start.
JACCKA EMBERZ over raced when leading.
TANDY FRANCO hung inwards in the early stages placing ELUSIVE FLIGHT and BEAUDIENE CLEMINTYNE in restricted room.
TANDY FRANCO lost ground approaching the 800 metres when hanging inwards causing Driver M Anderson some difficulty.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT broke shortly after when attempting to improve three wide.
TANDY FRANCO gave ground from the 600 metres hampering the trailing ELUSIVE FLIGHT for some distance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of TANDY FRANCO.
PLAY ACTION and NEVER EYRE both gave ground on the final bend.
ELUSIVE FLIGHT broke again near the 200 metres when being shifted wider on the track. When questioned regarding the performance of ELUSIVE FLIGHT Driver C Ferguson reported that in his opinion the gelding had lost confidence after breaking at the 800 metres. ELUSIVE FLIGHT sustained a minor laceration to its coronet consistent with cross-firing. Trainer S Allen undertook to advise Stewards of anything that may come to light in the coming days that could explain the performance.
BAY EMERALD and TISBURY HARDLIFE were held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
Driver M Parker reported that the bit on BAY EMERALD had slipped through the horse's mouth during the running.
 
Race 4 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TOMMY GOLIGHTLY broke in the score up and was back at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
LAURAS LEGACY raced keenly rounding the first bend.
SCHWARTZ DENARIO over raced in the middle stages.
LAURAS LEGACY had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
PAT'S LEGACY ran out of racing room late in the run home.
The two minute breast plate came adrift on TOMMY GOLIGHTLY.
When spoken to regarding the performance of TARTAN TROUBLES Driver M Williamson explained that the horse had worked hard in the middle stages to improve to the parked position however had disappointed when asked for an effort from the 400 metres. Co-trainer G Knight advised that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.

The required veterinary clearance was received for LIS IS FINE to resume racing.
The red light on the mobile barrier inadvertently switched on for a brief period when Starter W Ferguson activated the barrier arms at the start point. No drivers were affected by this.
LITTLE BIG BOY broke in the score up and was back at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
LITTLE BIG BOY paced roughly and struck several pylons racing into the first bend.
CREAM IT CULLEN hung inwards when attempting to improve three wide passing the 800 metres before giving ground on the final bend.
LITTLE BIG BOY tired from the 800 metres placing the trailing SIMPLY FUN at a disadvantage.
ALTAR EGO tired from the 500 metres. Trainer D Trainor advised that he would no longer persevere with ALTAR EGO from his stable.
HAYTON HANOVER hung outwards under pressure in the home straight and briefly locked wheels with NORTHVIEW HANOVER which was hanging inwards.
REAL SOUTH which was racing keenly became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HAYTON HANOVER entering the home straight and paced roughly. Driver B Orange (REAL SOUTH) was shown a replay and advised to exercise care when shifting ground.
LIS IS FINE was held up for clear racing room on the final bend.
EJA PATRON paced roughly passing the 300 metres.
RUSSET NORKOTAH was placed in restricted room over the concluding stages.
Driver S Golding (CREAM IT CULLEN) dropped his foot from the sulky rest over the concluding stages. Mr Golding was issued with a warning to ensure his foot returns to the sulky rest at the earliest opportunity.

CICADA JENERIK broke shortly after the start losing its chance.
VALMAGNE gave ground from the 700 metres.
SPRINGBANK EDEN trotted roughly late in the run home.
 
Race 7 DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A FINE CHRISTIAN had to be steadied near the 900 metres after an easing of the pace.
FIERY FERRET was held up for clear racing room in the home straight.
GANGNAM STYLE paced roughly passing the 200 metres.
When questioned regarding the performance of TAKITIMU EXPRESS Driver S Walkinshaw advised that the gelding had been challenged for the lead in the middle stages and had failed to finish the race off as expected. He added that the colt may be better suited when driven with a sit.
 
Race 8 JUST ESSENCE CATERING HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
BILLY KLONDIKE, ROCK TILL YOU DROP and HERETIC FRANCO all broke at the start.
Trainer N Bishop was advised that BILLY KLONDIKE must trial satisfactorily from a standing start on one occasion prior to resuming from that start type.
ACOLYTE and HERETIC FRANCO over raced in the middle stages.
CLASSIEBEE tired rounding the final bend placing MISSY MACH at a disadvantage.
GREENBURN CREEK hung outwards throughout the home straight and momentarily locked wheels with COURAGE TO FLY.
Authorisation of 3rd placing being awarded to ROCK TILL YOU DROP was withheld until Stewards had confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
 
Race 9 PRYDES EASIFEED MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The start of this race was delayed after HOKURI RAILRIDA cast a front shoe during the preliminary. The other front shoe was also removed prior to the start.
RAPHOE tired on the final bend with the trailing HUDSON SULLY being held up.
RORY MACH hung inwards in the early stages of the run home.
HUDSON SULLY hung outwards throughout the home straight.
