Race 1 THAI NIGHT $55PP 28TH AUGUST HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
STAR FILLY was slow away and failed to maintain contact with the field over the early stages.
DJOKOVIC broke passing the 1700 metres, going wider on the track and recovering to take a forward position.
DJOKOVIC broke inside the 600 metres losing its chance.
An investigation established that DJOKOVIC (L. Chin) broke when racing in tight quarters in a three wide position outside of TORBJORN (P. Ferguson) and inside ALL ROYAL GAL (J. McKinnon). It was found that DJOKOVIC had laid in toward the sulky of TORBJORN and contributed to the incident with no further action deemed necessary.
Driver J. Stormont reported that he did not activate the deafeners on the winner MOB STAR.
 
Race 2 NEW DAILY DELEGATE PACKAGES AT ALEX PARK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MISS DAISY lay in badly during the score up and was approximately half a length out of position at the start.
FIRST HOME was improved from the rear three wide approaching the 1000 metres and was then caught four wide from inside the last 750 metres.
BETTORS POCKET was held up for clear racing room over the early and final stages of the run home.
POMME ROY broke for several strides inside the 150 metres after its near hind leg contacted the wheel of the sulky of MISS DAISY. It was established that POMME ROY had run outwards and MISS DAISY momentarily lay in. No further action was necessary.
 
Race 3 TVH PARTS TROT Video  Video 
ISA SMILING, TWELVE MONKEYS and PAUL AMOUR all broke at the start, with ISA SMILING (favourite) trailing the field throughout.
FIRST VINTAGE was slow away.
LANDORA'S AMBER, REINE DES GITANS and PAUL AMOUR broke approaching the winning post the first time, with PAUL AMOUR losing all chance.
LANDORA'S AMBER broke under pressure near the 50 metres.
ACOUGARZSUN broke with 25 metres to run.
A Protest was lodged under Rule 870 (5) against the 3rd placing of ACOUGARZSUN on the grounds that this horse had broken short of the winning post and was lapped on by the 4th placed GOSIMONGO. The Protest was not contested by connections and the J.C.A. relegated ACOUGARZSUN to 4th place, in behind GOSIMONGO which was promoted to 3rd.

BITE THE BULLET hung in the score up and was a length out of position at the start.
WYNBERG COURAGE broke racing into the first bend, this resulted in a check to SKY ART which broke losing several lengths. Both these runners settled at the rear of the field. A warning was placed on the racing manners record of WYNBERG COURAGE.
BITE THE BULLET (favourite) after settling at the rear was improved three wide inside the 1300 metres, worked hard to reach the one out without cover position outside the leader at the 600 metres, challenged for the lead over the early stages of the run home but then weakened to finish 5th, 2.7 lengths behind the winner. Driver J. Dunn advised that the gelding lay in throughout the journey and that a corrective gear change would be made.

CULINARY DELIGHT over-raced racing down the back the final time.
 
Race 6 HYDROFLOW HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
WHITNEY was a late scratching at 9.40 a.m. with a veterinary certificate provided.
MOMENT OF TRUTH was claimed from this event by Mr N. Northcott.
CHARLEMAGNE broke at the start settling at the rear.
AL BUNDY was inclined to lay in on the bends.
BARRY was held up over the early and middle stages of the run home.
The authorisation of the payment of the first placing of MOMENT OF TRUTH was withheld until such time that it was established that this gelding did not gain an advantage when it shifted inside the marker line rounding the home bend. MOMENT OF TRUTH was inside the marker line for approximately 30 metres. Driver P. Ferguson explained that MOMENT OF TRUTH was hanging inwards and when he attempted to shift back outside the marker line he was unable to do so as AL BUNDY, racing on its outside, had moved inward also.
 
Race 7 WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BETTABE PERFECT contacted a pylon rounding the final bend when in tight quarters inside of JET BLACK SHADOW.
Driver A.G. Herlihy was warned to correct his whip action in regard to his drive on BETTABE PERFECT.
The well supported runner ZAKSPATROL, after working hard mid-race, gave ground in the run home to finish 6th, 15.7 lengths from the winner.
Trainer/Driver M. Jones advised that he was disappointed with the performance of ZAKSPATROL and that a repeat performance would result in it being spelled.
 
Race 8 MITAVITE TROT Video  Video 
IDLE EYRE broke at the start, losing its chance.
ROCKY SIX broke racing into the first bend.
TERESKOVA broke passing the 1400 metres when in the lead, settling mid-field.
LA MAITRE DIX broke inside the 1400 metres.
ROCKY SIX and MIGHTY SUNNY broke at the 1300 metres.
MIGHTY SUNNY broke again rounding the home bend.
Driver A. Herlihy reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON.
 
Race 9 ALABAR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CYCLONE KATE was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 7.39 p.m.
ROCKER BAND hung in the score up and was a length out of position at the start. This filly was inclined to lay in throughout the running.
RETURN TO SENDER over-raced in the trail in the middle stages.
Trainer/Driver M. Jones reported that ROCKER BAND may have choked during the running, causing it to race erratically.
