Race 1 WASHINGTON VC FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SHARDS HALO was back out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver G Payne.
RINGARINGAROZIE after challenging for the lead through the early stages over-raced when left in the parked position.
STRAKA paced roughly throughout the event with driver M Williamson confirming this following the race.
RED ELECTRIC was caught three wide without cover for the majority of the race and hung inwards when attempting to improve its position passing the 900 metres. RED ELECTRIC then commenced to give ground on the final bend with the trailing ROMANCING being momentarily held up.
SHARDS HALO was held up on the final bend before shifting wider at the straight entrance to improve its position.
COMEKISSMEQUICK hung inwards through the early stages of the run home when being driven out.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of GUPTA'S CULLEN, trainer/driver C McDowell advised that GUPTA'S CULLEN had been working well in the lead up to this evening's race and had received a favourable run when leading throughout.
 
Race 2 DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS PACE Video  Video 
MR HANDLEMAN shied when the tapes were released checking BEAUDIENE GAMBLER on its outside with JESSICA SANCHEZ also being inconvenienced.
WORKINPROGRESS was caught three wide early before improving into the parked position passing the 1600 metres.
ATOM EXPRESS hung inwards on the first bend and paced roughly losing contact with the body of the field. ATOM EXPRESS continued to hang for the remainder of the journey.
WORKINPROGRESS commenced to give ground from the 850 metres. The connections of WORKINPROGRESS were warned to improve the racing performance of the gelding. Trainer C Buchan advised the gelding has been retired from his stable.
JESSICA SANCHEZ which was held up on the final bend made the turn into the home straight awkwardly when improving wide on the track.
KAZZACAN was held up on the final bend.
TAKITIMU EXPRESS shifted inwards after passing the 150 metres when clear of other runners.
SPINYBACK shifted outwards over the concluding stages while being driven out by driver N Williamson.
When questioned regarding the performance of ATOM EXPRESS, driver D Dunn confirmed to the Stewards that the gelding had hung and paced roughly throughout and apportioned this to the inexperience of ATOM EXPRESS.
Following this race driver R McIlwrick (HEZ ONLY THE LONELY) advised the hopple shorteners had failed to release after the cord became entangled.
 
Race 3 PRYDES EASIFEED MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HIGHVIEW ILLUSION broke in the score up and was back out of position at the start. The connections advised they would be adding hopple shorteners to the gelding's gear for its upcoming starts.
ARIZONA PETE raced keenly rounding the first bend when attempting to obtain cover.
Favoured runner WEBB ELLIS improved three wide from the 1300 metres before challenging for the lead briefly with 1100 metres to run and was then left in the parked position before tiring over the final stages.
RORY and BETTA GO FERNCO were both denied racing room on the final bend.
HIGHVIEW ILLUSION hung inwards in the home straight when improving its position wide on the track.
ARIZONA PETE momentarily lost its momentum when racing in restricted room near the 100 metres.
The Stewards viewed replays of the start to ensure that FLUSHING MEADOWS had started from its correct position of one on the second line after HIGHVIEW ILLUSION had broken in the score up. After viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied that FLUSHING MEADOWS was on the second line at the dispatch point.
 
Race 4 JUST ESSENCE CATERING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Racing into the first bend JUSTAN'S SISTER had to be restrained when racing in tight quarters.
SNOW RAKER was caught three wide without cover through the early stages.
FIERY FERRET and NORTHVIEW HANOVER both raced keenly passing the 1300 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
With 1100 metres to run JAYEES SUPREME (G Telfer) became awkwardly placed on the back of FIERY FERRET and paced roughly for a few strides.
After passing the 1000 metres ALTAR EGO broke when challenging for the lead three wide. As a result the trailing JETSDREAM was inconvenienced. ALTAR EGO received a punctured sulky tyre and was retired from the event by driver N Williamson.
Near the 400 metres EJA PATRON (B McLellan) broke free of interference, then shifted outwards locking wheels with JETSDREAM on its outside. As a result SNOW RAKER, NORTHVIEW HANOVER, PACIFIC HILIGHT, DEVINE CULLECT, FIERY FERRET, SHARK ALI and JUSTAN'S SISTER were all checked. JUSTAN'S SISTER then stumbled and fell with driver R McIlwrick being dislodged from the sulky. Mr McIlwrick was examined by the on-course St John paramedics and cleared to drive after suffering no injuries.
The connections of EJA PATRON were advised a warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
JUSTAN'S SISTER was examined by the on-course veterinarian and was found to be suffering from abrasions to the left knee and hip and also received a haematoma to its forehead with a veterinary clearance required prior to the filly resuming racing.
Driver G Telfer (JAYEES SUPREME) was shown a replay of the incident with 1100 metres to run when JAYEES SUPREME paced roughly and was warned for the manner he drove when trailing too close to other runners.
There was a delay to the clearing of all dividends after the Trackside video replays had a malfunction.
 
Race 5 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK PACE Video  Video 
There was a delay to the start of this race after JERRY FITZ and BILLY KLONDIKE were reluctant to come into line.
PENNYANA, ROCK TILL YOU DROP, SUNNIVUE BAY BOY and BILLY KLONDIKE all broke at the start with SUNNIVUE BAY BOY and BILLY KLONDIKE failing to settle for a considerable distance. BILLY KLONDIKE took no serious part in the running with the connections being advised a warning was placed against its standing start manners.
MINSTREL BOY tangled over the early stages.
TISBURY HARDLIFE was slow to begin from the unruly position.
EXTREMO VELOCIDAD paced roughly at the start and then raced greenly through the early and middle stages of the race.
JERRY FITZ was held up on the final bend.
LAURAS LEGACY hung inwards through the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 6 KEEP IT CLEAN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RAPHOE was several lengths back in the unruly position at the start.
MORDECAI, HUDSON SULLY and PRINCESS ARTS all struggled to maintain their position on the mobile barrier.
After reaching the lead shortly after the start COURAGE TO FLY raced keenly.
RORY MACH paced roughly and made the first bend awkwardly.
PRINCESS ARTS commenced to tire from the 500 metres with the trailing COURAGE TO FLY being severely held up at this stage of the race.
RAPHOE raced wide on the final bend.
BOOMER BAILEY was unable to obtain clear racing room on the final bend and for the majority of the run home with driver B Williamson advising he did not activate the removable deafeners.
COURAGE TO FLY ran out of racing room over the concluding stages.
The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of PRINCESS ARTS which revealed the filly to be suffering from a respiratory disorder and had an elevated heart rate with a veterinary clearance required prior to PRINCESS ARTS resuming racing.
Starter W Ferguson was questioned in relation to the speed of the mobile prior to the dispatch point. Mr Ferguson advised that he did not believe he was travelling any quicker than normal however Stewards advised that the runners had struggled to maintain their positions over the latter stages of the score up due to the speed just prior to the dispatch.
 
Race 7 RICOH MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Permission was granted for MACHIE MACH to wear alternative colours after the other set of colours were damaged earlier in the evening.
ONEDIN MACH was caught wide through the early stages before progressing forward to sit parked with 1700 metres to run.
BETTOR'S BRIGADIER was caught three wide without cover from the 1700 metres before improving to the parked position with 1200 metres to run. BETTOR'S BRIGADIER then commenced to tire approaching the 800 metres.
CLASSIEBEE tired over the final 500 metres.
SHAK'N CULLEN hung inwards under pressure on the final bend striking several pylons.
 
Race 8 SPEIGHTS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
BOYZ LET LOOSE broke at the start and again with 1200 metres to run and was retired from the event.
LIMA LAD and FACE VALUE both broke shortly after the start with both these runners failing to settle for a considerable distance losing all chance. FACE VALUE was subsequently retired from the event with the connections advising the mare would no longer be persevered with.
FILIGREE SHEREE broke after approximately 150 metres.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR which had improved to the parked position broke approaching the 2200 metres.
MUM BEAT LYALL which was leading shied outwards when making the bend nearing the 1200 metres.
TRICK STAR hung inwards on the bend passing the 500 metres.
ZHENYA was held up rounding the final bend and was reluctant to shift outwards in the early stages of the run home.
KYLIE CASTLETON which had improved to the lead, shifted outwards in the home straight clear of the trailing runners.
 
Race 9 THE PARK FUNCTION CENTRE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
In the score up ATOM HANOVER hung outwards and was unable to maintain its position at the start.
BILLY THE BUS raced three wide without cover through the early stages before working to the lead near the 1500 metres.
BIG BAD JOHN raced keenly over the middle stages when the pace eased.
VENETO tired from the 450 metres after being caught parked for the majority of the race.
Approaching the 150 metres GYRATE (R Close) ducked in sharply resulting in TARTAN TROUBLES (M Williamson) on its inside pacing roughly for several strides and losing its momentum.
Driver N Williamson (BILLY THE BUS) was warned to change his whip action.
The Stewards questioned drivers R Close and M Williamson in relation to the incident near the 150 metres. Mr Close advised that GYRATE had shifted in sharply while being driven out. Mr Williamson advised the Stewards that he had also been dictated slightly wider on the track by the leader WEEDON'S EXPRESS. After hearing from both horsemen the Stewards were satisfied that Mr Close had taken immediate action to correct his horse and no further action was required in relation to his driving. A warning was however placed on the racing manners of GYRATE.
