Race 1 DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS PACE Video  Video 
SMOKIN BARRELS was examined by the on course veterinarian pre-race and cleared to race.
LAURAS LEGACY, BEAUDIENE GAMBLER, SMOKIN BARRELS and FLAMBOYANT all broke over the early stages.
WORKINPROGRESS tangled briefly at the start.
FLAMBOYANT was caught wide through the early stages before being restrained to the back of the field.
BEAUDIENE GAMBLER hung and paced roughly when improving three wide near the 1200 metre mark. BEAUDIENE GAMBLER then continued to pace roughly for the remainder of the race.
HEZ ONLY THE LONELY (R McIlwrick) paced roughly for a few strides when attempting to improve to the outside of KAZZACAN (P Hunter) near the 200 metre mark. P Hunter was warned for the manner he drove when improving when insufficiently clear of other runners.
RUSSET NORKOTAH hung inwards over the concluding stages.
Driver N Williamson (SPINYBACK) advised the Stewards that only one hopple shortener activated despite his best efforts during the running.
 
Race 2 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A false start was declared when RINGARINGAROZIE broke in the score up inconveniencing O'GARA. In the restart driver D White elected to remain in the allocated barrier position. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of RINGARINGAROZIE for causing a false start.
In the restart FRANCO TMICK raced greenly during the score up.
Racing into the first bend FRANCO TMICK which was racing greenly shifted outwards briefly making contact with ELI LOWE on its outer.
RINGARINGAROZIE raced fiercely for the majority of the event.
O'GARA raced keenly through the middle stages of the race.
O'GARA improved wide prior to the home straight.
 
Race 3 G J GARDNER HOMES TROT Video  Video 
Trainer R Hanson advised the Stewards that LIMA LAD had thrown a shoe while being transported to the races. As a result the other front shoe was removed prior to the start.
A false start was declared when several runners had breached the barrier tape prior to its release.
In the restart PYRAMID MAGIC, BOYZ LET LOOSE and DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR all broke at the start with BOYZ LET LOOSE failing to settle for a considerable distance and eventually being retired from the event.
BEYOND A JOKE which was several lengths back in the unruly position at the start and was very slow to begin.
After approximately 250 metres CONROCK which was vying for the lead broke with CONROCK breaking again near the 1400 metres.
SUNNIVUE SADONA broke rounding the first bend.
With 1700 metres to run LIMA LAD which had been trotting roughly broke with HENGROEN breaking shortly afterwards.
YGRITTE broke near the 1200 metres.
SUNNIVUE SADONA broke again with 450 metres to run.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of MALDARNA trainer K Robertson advised that the gelding had been assisted in the running when favoured runners broke, appreciated the shorter distance, had received an economical trip and there had been a considerable drop in class this evening.
 
Race 4 STUNIN CULLEN GOLDEN GIRLS SERIES FINAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Shortly after the start PENNYANA broke before settling at the back of the field.
AMOUNIS raced keenly through the early stages when challenged for the lead by KIWI FOCUS.
SWISS LASS which had been racing greenly struck and dislodged a pylon near the 1300 metres and broke with the mare losing ground when being restrained in the passing lane shortly afterwards.
WOODLEA DJ raced keenly in the parked position through the middle stages.
THE TISBURY TERROR ran out of racing room over the concluding stages with driver D Dunn electing not to activate removable deafeners.
Driver R Close advised he had difficulty removing the removable deafeners from PLAY ACTION in the home straight.
FLUSHING MEADOWS (G Lee) suffered a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
 
Race 5 OTAKIA TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A FINE CHRISTIAN broke at the start losing considerable ground.
EJA PATRON paced roughly and briefly shifted wider on the track at the 950 metre mark.
BULLYS PRINCESS commenced to give ground from the 600 metres with NORTHVIEW HANOVER being held up at this stage of the race. Trainer G Lee advised BULLYS PRINCESS would no longer be racing from his stable in the future.
Driver R McIlwrick (CITY COURAGE) advised that he dropped his whip after passing the 200 metres.
 
Race 6 FORBURY PARK CLAIMERS SERIES FINAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MACHIE MACH hung inwards rounding the first bend.
FRANCO CALIPH was held up on the final bend by GREENBURN CREEK.
HIGHVIEW ANWELL was claimed by R Todd by lot following this race.
 
Race 7 PRYDES EASIFEED MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Racing into the first bend WICK made the bend awkwardly and broke with resulting checks to HUDSON SULLY, UNCLE BEN, MARITIME ARDEN, RORY MACH and OLWEN JACCKA. A warning was placed on the racing manners of WICK.
HUDSON SULLY and BOLD RULER were held up on the final bend with BOLD RULER having to change direction in the home straight to obtain clear racing room.
OLWEN JACCKA hung inwards in the home straight and was reluctant to shift ground outwards when attempting to improve its position.
 
Race 8 RICOH HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
MATCH POINT and STARSKY'S DREAM both broke at the start with MATCH POINT losing all chance.
WOODLEA LEGEND raced keenly from the 1000 metres with the gelding tiring in the home straight. Driver K Cox reported that the gelding had commenced to strike the sulky wheels causing it to over race. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of WOODLEA LEGEND which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
Race 9 SPEIGHTS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
WHITNEY was incorrectly shown as IM WHITNEY in some publications. Harness Racing New Zealand were advised of this with HRNZ advising that they will be correcting this matter with the TAB.
No claims were lodged for WHITNEY.
MUM BEAT LYALL broke at the start and FACE VALUE broke shortly afterwards losing all chance.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR broke rounding the first bend, then trotted roughly thereafter.
Approaching the 1800 metres PEGASUS DREAM broke when racing in the parked position before settling several lengths off the back of the field.
OTTAWA hung rounding the final bend.
PEGASUS DREAM was held up on the final bend by the tiring OTTAWA.
R Close (TRICK STAR) and M Williamson (PEGASUS DREAM) both advised their respective drives had hung during the running.
 
Race 10 CRAMOND & CRAIG PLASTERERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RAPHOE which was drawn on the unruly was back several lengths at the dispatch point.
NEVER EYRE raced greenly through the early stages with the gelding hanging at various stages of the race.
RATTLING THUNDER which was racing keenly broke when angling out into the three wide line near the 1200 metres.
BAY EMERALD was held up on the final bend by the tiring SCHERGER ROYAL then had to shift ground in the home straight for clear racing room..
JACCKA EMBERZ was held up on the final bend before finishing strongly in the home straight.
TISBURY HARDLIFE hung inwards throughout the home straight.
RAPHOE hung inwards while being driven out in the home straight however was clear of the trailing runners.
 
Race 11 JASON CAYFORD BIRTHDAY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FIREBREAK (R Close) commenced to over race shortly after the start before working to the lead near the 1400 metres.
THE BLACK raced wide without cover through the early stages.
ROYAL CYNIC gave ground from the 700 metres.
LEVELS LEGACY tired over the final 500 metres.
BIG BAD JOHN paced roughly for a few strides when racing to the inside of MORDECAI (C Ferguson) which was improving sharply.
PAT'S LEGACY (S Walkinshaw) was held up on the final bend and became awkwardly placed to the inside of BIG BAD JOHN ( A Armour). As a result PAT'S LEGACY paced roughly for a few strides.
PAT'S LEGACY was further held up in the home straight when attempting to force BIG BAD JOHN wider on the track.
Both A Armour (BIG BAD JOHN) and S Walkinshaw (PAT'S LEGACY) were spoken to advisedly regarding the manner they drove over the final 400 metres.
Junior horseman C Ferguson (MORDECAI) was warned to ensure he allows sufficient room for runners on his inside when improving.
The Stewards questioned Junior Horseman R Close regarding the manner he drove after working to the lead near the 1400 metres. Mr Close advised that after over racing through the early stages FIREBREAK went to ease up after reaching the lead and he urged the horse on accordingly. After hearing Mr Close's explanation no further action was warranted.
