Race 1 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
Trainer N Burton was questioned regarding PURE EMOTION starting this evening after he had advised the Stewards PURE EMOTION would be sent for a spell after its previous race at Forbury Park on the 29th of May 2015. Mr Burton advised after consultation with the other owners it was decided to continue with the current campaign. He further advised he had made gear alterations and adjustments to the shoeing of the mare.
A false start was declared when BLINK broke in the score up inconveniencing other front line runners. BLINK was sent to the unruly position for the restart by the Starter pursuant to Rule 860(8).
DIAMOND DRAGON broke in the score up losing considerable ground.
Just after the dispatch point SCOTTIE TROUBLE broke checking DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR after DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR had to be steadied to avoid the breaking SCOTTIE TROUBLE.
BLINK also broke over the early stages losing considerable ground. The connections were advised a warning was placed against BLINK for causing a false start for mobile events. Trainer D Simpson elected to place BLINK on the unruly for future mobile starts.
PURE EMOTION which was struggling to maintain the trailing position broke at the 700 metre mark briefly inconveniencing the trailing STARGOSDAUGHTER.
After improving into the passing lane LOVE THE MOMENT broke near the 150 metre mark.
Authorisation of 4th placing being awarded to SCOTTIE TROUBLE was withheld until it was confirmed that SCOTTIE TROUBLE had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations over the early stages.
 
Race 2 WASHINGTON VC MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MR HANDLEMAN paced roughly in the score up and was back off the gate at the start.
JUSTAN'S SISTER was caught three wide without cover through the early stages.
CASHEDUP over-raced through the early and middle stages before giving ground from the 600 metres.
LIVE TO TELL was held up rounding the final bend and for the majority of the run home.
SUZIE'S GEM shifted outwards in the home straight clear of other runners.
 
Race 3 PRYDES EASIFEED MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Prior to this race the track conditions were upgraded to Good.
EJA PATRON was slightly back off the gate after hanging in the score up. EJA PATRON continued to hang for the majority of the event noticeably on the bends.
After passing the 1800 metre mark BOUNCER broke losing considerable ground.
After challenging for the lead over the early stages ONE FOR THE ROAD commenced to over-race in the parked position.
LIS IS FINE gave ground rapidly from the 700 metre mark finishing a distant last placing. Driver N Williamson advised although he had worked hard through the early stages he was disappointed with the mare's effort and could offer no explanation. A veterinary examination of LIS IS FINE was requested by the Stewards which revealed an atrial fibrillation with the mare requiring an ECG and a Veterinary clearance before resuming racing.
ONE FOR THE ROAD gave ground on the final bend with driver R Close reporting that the mare had over-raced and hung placing him in difficulty throughout.
 
Race 4 STUNIN CULLEN GOLDEN GIRLS SERIES (HEAT 4) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
KIWI FOCUS raced wide over the early stages.
BETTAKATETHANNEVA over-raced for the majority of the event before tiring over the final 400 metres.
INCREDIBLE ANVIL was caught wide without cover for the majority of the race.
PLAY ACTION was held up rounding the final bend and throughout the run home finishing untested by driver R Close.
STYLISH BABE was held up on the final bend and through the early and middle stages of the run home.
KIWI FOCUS hung inwards near the 200 metre mark and again approaching the 100 metre mark and had to be straightened by driver N Williamson.
 
Race 5 G J GARDNER HOMES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
After passing the 1800 metre mark BOLD RULER paced roughly then broke losing its chance. Driver P Hunter could offer no explanation but stated it was out of character for the gelding.
CERATO was unable to obtain clear racing room in the home straight until the concluding stages.
 
Race 6 DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS PACE Video  Video 
WORKINPROGRESS was inspected by the veterinarian pre-race and cleared to race.
SUPERSHAKES and A FINE CHRISTIAN both broke at the start with A FINE CHRISTIAN losing a considerable amount of ground.
TARANTO and MAN I'M GOOD both tangled over the early stages.
SUPERSHAKES raced keenly through the middle stages when racing beyond mid field on the inner.
Near the 250 metre mark SPINYBACK (N Williamson) broke for a few strides when becoming awkwardly placed on the inside of FLAMBOYANT.
EM AY was held up through the early and middle stages on the run home before gaining clear racing room over the final stages.
When questioned regarding when SPINYBACK broke briefly at the 250 metre mark Driver N Williamson advised that there had been movement from the horses in front of him and his drive SPINYBACK was racing keenly and improved to the inside of the wheel of FLAMBOYANT and struck it. Mr Williamson was issued with a warning pursuant to Rule 869(3)(b) to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
Race 7 RICOH JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FINDING NEMO and WOZNIACKI both struggled to maintain their positions on the mobile prior to the start.
ALEXY raced keenly in the score up and through the early stages.
GYRATE raced fiercely for the majority of the event.
Near the 2300 metre mark ALEXY (J Young) and ELUSIVE FLIGHT (B Williamson) jostled for position. Driver J Young was warned pursuant to Rule 869(4) for the manner she drove at this stage of the race when attempting to ease another runner inwards when she did not have an advantage over that runner.
ALEXY raced three wide without cover before reaching the parked position passing the 1800 metres.
ALEXY which had worked hard through the early and middle stages commenced to give ground from the 700 metre mark.
Approaching the 400 metre mark MUSIC broke free of interference inconveniencing GYRATE, FINDING NEMO, ELUSIVE FLIGHT and TISBURY HARDLIFE.
Near the 300 metre mark WOZNIACKI was briefly inconvenienced when BAY EMERALD shifted inwards to allow other runners room to avoid the breaking MUSIC.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of ROCK TILL YOU DROP, caretaker trainer W Heads advised that ROCK TILL YOU DROP had only recently arrived at his stable and he did not believe it had travelled well when it had initially arrived. It had since settled in well and had received a suitable run this evening which had assisted in its improved performance.
 
Race 8 KEEP IT CLEAN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BETTOR'S BRIGADIER gave ground on the final bend after racing wide early and then being caught in the parked position for the majority of the race.
RIVER BLACK attempted to improve wide on the final bend but was held up momentarily when HIGHLAND REIGN improved around tiring BETTOR'S BRIGADIER.
ONEDIN MACH was also held up at this stage of the race before driver N Williamson elected to shift ground inwards for clear racing room.
MATCH POINT was held up on the final bend.
The Stewards questioned driver N Williamson regarding the tactics he adopted on ONEDIN MACH. N Williamson advised that after drawing wide he elected to settle back in the field especially given the early gate speed of several other runners. Mr Williamson stated that he had led on the gelding in its previous start and was slightly disappointed with the way the gelding had finished the race off. He had anticipated he would get a drag into the race from RIVER BLACK which he knew had previously improved its position during the middle stages of races. He did not believe that ONEDIN MACH had been racing well enough to improve three wide and sit parked during the middles stages and be competitive over the concluding stages especially taking into consideration the quick tempo of this evening's race. Mr Williamson further added that when RIVER BLACK did eventually improve its position RIVER BLACK and ONEDIN MACH were further inconvenienced when BETTOR'S BRIGADIER gave ground on the final bend. At this stage Mr Williamson elected to improve his position inwards and received a clear run for the majority of the home straight thereafter. After hearing Mr Williamson's explanation the Stewards were satisfied that given the circumstances that had unfolded this evening no further action was required.
 
Race 9 JUST ESSENCE CATERING PACE Video  Video 
CAESAR ROCKS broke at the start and veered in sharply tightening FIREBREAK inwards onto PAULA'S ON FIRE which was forced over several pylons. A warning was placed on the standing start manners of CAESAR ROCKS.
FIREBREAK, DRIVE THE DREAM, VERA'S DELIGHT, ONE OUT OF FOUR and BILLY KLONDIKE all broke at the start with ONE OUT OF FOUR and BILLY KLONDIKE continuing in a gallop for a considerable distance.
After settling briefly ONE OUT OF FOUR broke again with the gelding appearing to be lame with the Stewards requesting a veterinary examination which confirmed the gelding to be lame on the off-hind leg with a veterinary clearance required.
DIAMOND KING raced wide through the early and middle stages before working to the lead with 1200 metres to run.
FIREBREAK raced keenly though the middle stages.
VERA'S DELIGHT failed to gain racing room for the majority of the run home.
DRIVE THE DREAM hung inwards while being driven out in the home straight.
 
Race 10 SPEIGHTS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TUBBY JIM was inclined to hang inwards on several occasions during the running striking pylons.
RORY MACH was held up for racing room over the final 500 metres with driver J Cox advising he did not activate the removable deafeners.
 
Race 11 THE PARK FUNCTION CENTRE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
There were no claims lodged for WHITNEY.
SPRINGBANK EDEN broke briefly over the early stages.
After approximately 150 metres FACE VALUE broke.
Rounding the first bend BLUE DON broke.
Nearing the 2200 metre mark CONTINENTAL BOY broke.
With 2100 metres to run SUNDON INVASION broke then trotted roughly for some distance before breaking again with 1100 metres to run with the gelding being retired from the event.
Driver C Ferguson advised that MALDARNA had hung during the running striking pylons on several occasions.
 
Race 12 FORBURY PARK CLAIMERS SERIES (HEAT 5) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for any runners following this event.
After approximately 300 metres GREENBURN CREEK broke free of interference with a resulting check to the trailing FRANCO CALIPH. As a result the hopple on FRANCO CALIPH broke with this runner being retired from this event. MOTU SPEEDY STAR, HIGHVIEW ANWELL and MACHIE MACH were also checked during this incident with MACHIE MACH breaking briefly. Driver R Close advised the Stewards that GREENBURN CREEK had struck a knee causing it to break. The connections were advised a warning was placed on the racing manners of GREENBURN CREEK.
GREENBURN CREEK was held up on the final bend and for the majority of the run home with driver R Close advising he did not activate the removable deafeners.
