Race 6 - LIQUORLAND CAMBRIDGE HANDICAP PACE
The favourite SWEET ART failed to race competitively. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Driver S Phelan advised Stewards that the horse was off the bit for the whole journey. Stewards will be communicating with trainer S Telfer as this horse is an acceptor tomorrow at the Auckland Trotting Club on 12 June 2015.
SWEET ART was scratched by the connections from Race 7 at the Auckland Trotting Club tonight.
Trainer S. Telfer advised Stewards today that further veterinary tests on SWEET ART revealed no abnormalities and he advised that he believed the mare was showing the effects of a long season and that it was his intention to freshen the horse.

LADYS ARE IDEAL broke at despatch losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on this filly's mobile barrier manners record.
BLUE ALLAN over-raced when racing without cover in the middle stages.
LUNA DE MIEL contacted pylons rounding the home bend when tiring.
Stewards reviewed the video coverage of the run home with Driver D. Butcher regarding his apparent lack of vigour on the favourite KILLER QUEEN. It was accepted that the filly was doing her best, however, Mr Butcher was reminded to leave no room for query.
 
Race 2 THE ALEX BAR & EATERY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SKY ART raced three wide over the last 1100 metres.
KEEPERS DESIRE broke free of interference approaching the 200 metres. A warning was placed on this gelding's racing manners.
CHITTYBANGBANG commenced to give ground passing the 400 metres eventually finishing well back. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When questioned Driver B. Orange reported the gelding had travelled comfortably in the lead, however, when pressured failed to respond and was disappointing. Driver Orange added that it was the stable's intention that CHITTYBANGBANG would now be sent for a spell.
Co-Trainer L. Hollis advised KEEPERS DESIRE would now be sent for a spell.
 
Race 3 MID WINTER CHRISTMAS AT ALEXANDRA PARK TROT Video  Video 
KOWHAI MONARCH and LANDORA'S GIRL broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
CYCLONE CHIEF trotted roughly in the early stages.
GOSIMONGO trotted roughly and lay in racing into the first bend.
DUKE CASTLETON trotted roughly and tangled breaking briefly near the 1900 metres, breaking again approaching the 1700 metres losing all chance.
MAJESTIC ONE broke near the 1800 metres losing considerable ground.
LA MAITRE DIX broke for a short distance near the 1500 metres.
LANDORA'S GIRL broke again passing the 1400 metres when out of contention.
KOWHAI MONARCH was declared unruly from standing starts at the trainer's request.

RISK had to steady and shift ground near the 150 metres to continue to improve.
FIERY LUSTRE, which was inclined to lay out during the running, shifted wider on the track by approximately one sulky width when in the lead. Stewards questioned Mr Phelan in regard to this incident as the perception may have been that he had provided an opportunity for his stable mate PRINCE OF POPS to improve prior to the passing lane and at the same time made the favourite BRACKEN RIDGE, racing one out without cover on its outside, travel over extra ground. Driver S. Phelan confirmed that the gelding had a propensity to lay out and explained that it shifted out when he had activated the removable deafeners passing the 350 metres. His explanation was noted.

UNFORGIVING was inclined to lay in racing into the first bend.
APASSIONATO weakened rounding the final bend as a result this inconvenienced and held up CHARLESTON BELLE.
Driver B. Mangos was shown the video coverage of his drive on GEISHA GIRL. Mr Mangos dislodged his left foot from the sulky foot rest when activating gear. This was noted, however, he was issued with a warning and reminded that he must return his feet to the foot rest as soon as practicable.

SIR GEORGE GREY was held up over the early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 7 SIMS PACIFIC METALS HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
MACS CREATION weakened from the 600 metres.
DARCEE (favourite) began well from the 10 metre handicap mark to improve to the lead with 1900 metres to run, received a trail at the 1500 metres, was under pressure inside the last 300 metres and weakened into 6th place. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

DRAGON LADY was claimed from this event, following a ballot, by Mrs W. Ferguson and Mr C. Baldwin.
VENTIMIGLIA broke over the early stages.
SPRINGFIELD LEGACY broke racing into the first bend.
MY MUMS ASTAR broke passing the 1400 metres.
VENTIMIGLIA broke again passing the 700 metres losing all chance.
DJOKOVIC broke when racing in the lead approaching the 300 metres inconveniencing MAKAREWA JAKE. Driver L. Chin took DJOKOVIC to the inside of the marker line to avoid any further interference to trailing runners.
SHARDON'S PEARL was held up rounding the final bend and over the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 9 IRT GRASS TRACK GRADUATE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CLARIUS broke near the 1800 metres losing its chance. This horse returned to the enclosure with a broken back near side hopple carrier. This gear was inspected and the trainer was found not to be at fault.
YOUBETTERYOUBET struck pylons rounding the final bend.
ART PLEASER (favourite) raced parked throughout the running and weakened to finish 4th.
 
Race 10 DAWSON HARFORD & PARTNERS MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
There was a delay to the start due to BD LOVE requiring farrier attention.
TERESKOVA was inclined to lay out when racing in the lead.
STAR FILLY broke for several strides passing the 300 metres.
ALANNAH HALL broke passing the 250 metres.
MOB STAR was inclined to shift out under pressure in the final straight before trotting roughly passing the 175 metres and blundering. MOB STAR trotted roughly and broke briefly inside the final 50 metres.
