Race 1 ASHBURTON GUARDIAN & INKWISE NZ 2YO DIAMOND (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
ALLISON STOKKE underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and was cleared to race.
NORTHERN VELOCITY reared and fell when the field assembled at the starting area. After a sulky replacement the filly underwent and passed a veterinary examination. Due to the number being unable to be attached to the replacement sulky, permission was granted for NORTHERN VELOCITY to race without a number. As a result of this the start was delayed approximately 8 minutes.
NORTHERN VELOCITY raced roughly in the middle stages of the score up and broke briefly but recovered its position by start point.
PAT CAMPBELL hung outwards in the score up and was back a length at the start. Driver R May was shown the film and advised to make a greater effort to maintain his mobile barrier position.
CHEVRONS CHAMPION raced roughly on the first bend when awkwardly positioned near the sulky of GAMMA LADY which hung inwards when being restrained.
BETTOR LOVE ME raced roughly prior to the passing lane and shifted inwards making contact with a track marker.
Near the 350 metres LUISANABELLE MIDFREW shifted inwards abruptly when driver M Williamson activated the removable deafeners inconveniencing the trailing BETTOR LOVE ME.
KILLER QUEEN hung inwards passing the 200 metres.
PAT CAMPBELL and SMOKE N FIRE were held up in the middle stages of the run home.
When questioned regarding the performance of LUISANABELLE MIDFREW, driver M Williamson advised he was disappointed with the efforts of the filly. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
Race 2 NEUMANNS TYRES & THE TYRE GENERAL 2YO RUBY (MOBILE TROT) Video  Video 
GUNNERS COIN and GERSHWIN broke in the score up with both runners losing considerable ground.
DARK OPS was back out of position on the unruly.
Racing into the first bend ROYAL WILLIE broke and lost its chance. Driver M McKendry advised the colt had over-raced.
Racing into the first bend ALDEBARAN AY M (C DeFilippi) was placed in restricted room when CONON BRIDGE (B Butt) attempted to ease CYCLONE CHIEF (T Macfarlane) down the track. This resulted in ALDEBARAN AY M striking several pylons and CYCLONE CHIEF racing roughly. After hearing from drivers B Butt and T Macfarlane, Stewards advised Mr Macfarlane that in future he was required to make a greater effort to concede his position in a timely manner than he had done so on this occasion.
WILMA'S MATE trotted roughly passing the 1300 metres.
CONON BRIDGE broke near the 1200 metres.
HE'S LIKE THE WIND broke passing the 300 metres and again over the concluding stages.
Near the 150 metres ALDEBARAN AY M broke.
ARANNALEA trotted roughly in the initial stages of the run home and then broke near the 100 metres.
Driver D Butt advised he was unable to drive WILMA'S MATE out over the concluding stages due to the filly trotting roughly.
A veterinary examination of CONON BRIDGE detected the early stages of a respiratory infection. The connections were advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to resuming.
 
Race 3 WOODLANDS STUD 4YO DIAMOND (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
GRACIOUS STAR paced roughly as the start was effected.
GRACIOUS STAR faltered racing into the first bend and broke shortly after and was immediately pulled up by driver G Smith. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained multiple fractures to the right front pastern and was humanely euthanised.
LEIGH MAJOR had to be checked around the breaking GRACIOUS STAR on the first bend.
AL RAZA had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 4 CHRISTCHURCH CASINO 3YO RUBY (MOBILE TROT) Video  Video 
ROCK TONIGHT and CHARMING LAVRA both broke in the score up and were out of position at the start.
SPEEDING SPUR broke shortly after the start was effected and lost considerable ground.
On the bend near the 1200 metres ONE YANKEE HALL broke and lost its chance.
GREAT THINGS HAPPEN broke passing the 850 metres.
SONEY BEATT weakened passing the 500 metres.
BD LOVE trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
Authorisation of 5th place being awarded to SPEEDING SPUR was withheld until Stewards had confirmed the colt had not been in breach of the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking over the early stages.
 
Race 5 MID CANTERBURY TROTTING OWNERS ASSN 3YO DIAMOND(MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
START DREAMING raced roughly entering the first bend.
BETTER B AMAZED hung inwards and locked wheels momentarily with START DREAMING passing the 1300 metres.
ROCKER BAND (R May) had to be steadied passing the 1200 metres when DEMOCRAT PARTY (Z Butcher) shifted ground inwards. Z Butcher was warned for the manner in which he shifted ground at this stage of the race.
START DREAMING raced keenly in the middle stages when racing on the outside of THE ORANGE AGENT.
LINDA LOVEGRACE lay inwards and locked sulky stays with ON THE TOWN passing the 100 metres.
Driver D Butcher advised he did not activate the hopple shorteners on START DREAMING after the filly had paced roughly on the first bend.
 
Race 6 COMMODORE AIRPORT HOTEL 2YO EMERALD (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
SHANDALE broke racing into the first bend and in doing so contacted the sulky wheel of MACH TIME (S Phelan) shortly after. S Phelan advised he had received a punctured sulky wheel in this incident.
LAZARUS hung inwards rounding the first bend.
THREE WAYS raced keenly throughout the middle stages.
LAZARUS hung inwards under pressure throughout the final straight.
Driver N Rasmussen (CHASE THE DREAM) was reminded of her obligations to drive her horses out to the line. When assessing this, Stewards believed the finishing position of CHASE THE DREAM had not been compromised.
 
Race 7 MCMILLAN FEEDS 4YO RUBY (MOBILE TROT) Video  Video 
SANTORINI SUNSET trotted roughly over the initial stages of the score up and was back off the unruly at the start.
EYRE I COME was a length out of position at the start. Driver B Orange advised he was being cautious as the gelding had been trotting roughly, however Stewards advised Mr Orange to make a greater effort to be in position at the start.
LUCKY FORTUNE broke as the start was effected.
Passing the 1500 metres LUCKY FORTUNE (J Curtin) whilst in a gallop made contact with the sulky of HARRYSUL (S Golding) which was being crossed by MUM'S PRIDE (J Stormont) who was improving its position down the track. As a result LUCKY FORTUNE fell and was pulled up. After hearing from drivers J Curtin, S Golding and J Stormont, driver J Stormont admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b). The details of which alleged that he had shifted inwards when not sufficiently clear. After hearing submissions from Stewards and viewing the films, the JCA suspended Mr Stormont's Horsemans licence from the conclusion of racing today, up to and including the 14th June 2015 (3 days). A post-race veterinary examination of LUCKY FORTUNE revealed no abnormalities.
MAJESTIC TIME broke on the bend near the 1400 metres and lost considerable ground.
HARRYSUL hung inwards in the middle stages.
BELLES SON broke passing the 400 metres when improving wide on the bend.
MAJESTIC TIME again broke passing the 350 metres.
POPPYMALDA was held up in the early stages of the run home.
Passing the 100 metres POPPYMALDA (N Williamson) shifted inwards causing FATHER CHRISTMAS (B Williamson) to lay inwards onto SANTORINI SUNSET (C DeFilippi) who then broke when placed in restricted room. Stewards spoke with drivers N Williamson, B Williamson and C DeFilippi where it was established that FATHER CHRISTMAS had over-reacted when being shifted inwards and continued to move down the track inconveniencing SANTORINI SUNSET. Stewards were satisfied that no driver had been at fault and took the matter no further.
TROUBLE RIEU trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
 
Race 8 MCMILLAN FEEDS 4YO EMERALD (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
There was a delay to the start of this race due to MIGHTY MAJOR requiring some attention from the farrier.
Racing into the first bend QUICK AS A TRICK broke and shifted inwards locking wheels with IDEAL SUCCESS who struck several pylons in consequence. The connections of QUICK AS A TRICK were advised the gelding had been stood down until such time it can complete a satisfactory trial.
Racing into the first bend TAKE AFTER ME was placed in restricted room and had to be steadied when racing between MESSINI and ONEDIN MACH.
IDEAL SUCCESS broke briefly on the final bend near the 350 metres and then paced roughly for some distance. A post-race veterinary examination of IDEAL SUCCESS failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
Race 9 KPMG PRIVATE ENTERPRISE 3YO EMERALD (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
HAVE FAITH IN ME raced roughly in the score up.
PRINCE OF POPS hung inwards racing towards the first bend.
Driver K Gath (BURNAHOLEINMYPOCKET) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that she used her whip in a manner Stewards deemed excessive over the concluding stages with the JCA imposing a fine of $400.
