Race 1 JUST ESSENCE CATERING TROT Video  Video 
MADAM SPUR was a late scratching at 9.50am with a Veterinary certificate provided.
TROUBLE DEL broke in the early stages and settled at the rear of the field.
Racing into the first bend DE VITO shifted outwards marginally, hampering SCOTTIE TROUBLE and BLINK with SCOTTIE TROUBLE and DE VITO breaking and losing ground.
CICADA JENERIK broke passing the 1750 metres when hanging inwards. Trainer D Simpson advised that he would be making gear adjustments prior to this mare's next start.
STARCOLA commenced to give ground from the 900 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
TROUBLE DEL and PURE EMOTION both broke near the 700 metres with TROUBLE DEL again breaking shortly after.
Trainer N Burton advised that PURE EMOTION would now be sent for a spell.
BLINK trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
DE VITO trotted roughly throughout the home straight and could not be driven out by Driver N Williamson.
SOUTH COASTER broke near the 150 metres and continued in a break for a considerable distance. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horse Regulations alleging that SOUTH COASTER had broken in excess of 50 metres over the final 200 metres of the race. The connections did not contest the protest and SOUTH COASTER was disqualified from 4th by the JCA.
 
Race 2 SPEIGHTS PACE Video  Video 
POWER BOLT, THE EDGE OF REASON, MENDESIAN, WEE JIMMY and SMOKIN HOME all broke at the start.
Racing into the first bend THE EDGE OF REASON hung inwards and struck a pylon.
SMOKIN HOME over raced in the middle stages.
RUSSET NORKOTAH was briefly placed in restricted room near the 550 metres when positioned between LAURAS LEGACY which had shifted outwards and THE EDGE OF REASON after THE EDGE OF REASON had improved quickly to its outer.
HEZ ONLY THE LONELY and SPINYBACK were both held up for clear racing room on the final bend.
Near the 200 metres MENDESIAN shifted inwards when Driver R Swain activated the removable gear hampering CASHEDUP and HEZ ONLY THE LONELY.
Driver R Swain (MENDESIAN) was shown a replay and warned for the manner in which he drove when placing runners in restricted room.
LAUGHING CAVALIER shifted outwards over the concluding stages when being driven out by Driver S Walkinshaw with WEE JIMMY having to change ground near the 50 metres. Mr Walkinshaw (LAUGHING CAVALIER) was shown a replay and warned to make a better effort to keep his horse straight in the run home.

RATTLING THUNDER raced keenly in the middle stages.
DUNTALKIN gave ground rounding the final bend.
MACH OF THE MAN was held up for clear racing room on the final bend by the tiring ROME.
 
Race 4 KEEP IT CLEAN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
WINGS OF HOPE broke in the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. This mare was placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
BOOSTER was trapped wide in the early stages.
POLLYANNA BLUE CHIP over raced in the middle stages when leading.
ELI LOWE hung outwards along the back straight on the final occasion.
BLOW A CLOUD briefly raced four wide near the 700 metres after FRANCO SANTIAGO commenced to shift ground outwards.
LOIRE FRANCO and ALTAR EGO locked wheels near 700 metres.
WINGS OF HOPE tired from the 400 metres.
LOIRE FRANCO hung inwards and struck several pylons on the final bend.
When questioned regarding the performance of the favourite BLOW A CLOUD Driver A Armour advised the gelding had raced wide in the middle stages and had not finished the race off as well as expected. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which revealed no abnormalities.
Driver R McIlwrick (BOOSTER) was shown a replay and warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
 
Race 5 FERGUS MATHIESON MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
O'DRISCOLL broke briefly at the start.
ELTSUNAMI raced wide in the early stages before improving to race parked.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR broke racing into the first bend.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR broke again near the 300 metres.
OCH AYE THE NOO shifted outwards abruptly near the 250 metres when leading before being corrected by Driver J Cox.
ARMORI was held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
Near the 100 metres O'DRISCOLL which was hanging inwards broke after locking wheels with BONO HEST.
Shortly after ARMORI became awkwardly placed between EVANDER D GO and BONO HEST after attempting to shift BONO HEST wider on the track. Driver G McLay (ARMORI) was shown a replay and warned for attempting to shift ground when not in a position to do so.
ELTSUNAMI trotted roughly in the home straight.
 
Race 6 PRYDES EASIFEED PACE Video  Video 
The start was delayed due to BAY EMERALD rearing on several occasions and causing Driver S Ottley considerable difficulty. A warning was placed on the standing start record of BAY EMERALD.
MARITIME ARDEN also reared briefly after the delay.
The start was further delayed when ONE DIRECTION charged the barrier strand. A warning was placed on the standing start record of ONE DIRECTION.
SUNNIVUE BAY BOY and BAY EMERALD both broke at the start.
Driver S Golding (THE BLACK) dropped his foot on two occasions near the 1100 metres. When questioned regarding this Mr Golding explained that he had been disentangling the removable deafeners cord from his sulky.
BAY EMERALD gave ground from the 450 metres.
ONE DIRECTION was held up for clear racing room on the final bend when racing into the inside of the tiring LOOSE CANNON.
Driver B Orange briefly dropped his foot from the sulky rest early in the run home when activating the removable deafeners on MARITIME ARDEN.
Driver J Patterson reported that LOOSE CANNON had hung inwards rounding the bends.
 
Race 7 STUNIN CULLEN GOLDEN GIRLS OTAGO SERIES (HEAT 1) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer J Harrington (SHEZ WICKED) was charged a $25 colour fee.
SHEZ WICKED raced keenly in the middle stages.
INDIAN ARROW hung inwards and struck a pylon on the final bend.
JENNALEE paced roughly on the final bend.
 
Race 8 STUNIN CULLEN SPRINT SERIES FINAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Racing into the first bend BANORA BOY was placed in restricted room after ONE OUT OF FOUR which was racing to its outside, hung inwards.
HUDSON SULLY raced wide in the early stages.
STAR OF COURAGE raced keenly in the middle stages.
ONE OUT OF FOUR gave ground on the final bend after racing three wide throughout.
Driver R Swain (STAR OF COURAGE) reported that his right sulky tyre deflated during the running.
When spoken to regarding the performance of AVEROSS RUSTLER Driver R McIlwrick advised the gelding had been slightly disappointing and he was of the opinion the horse was better suited when able to lead.
Driver J Cox reported that only one ear plug had activated on FIREBREAK.
 
Race 9 GRAEME & ANN MEE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CANARDLY LOVER paced roughly and broke approaching the first bend hampering HIGHVIEW ANWELL, BETTER TO BE BAD and LIONELS MEDDLE. A warning was placed on the racing manners of CANARDLY LOVER.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS raced keenly in the middle stages.
STARSKY'S DREAM hung outwards when being restrained to take the trail near the 1300 metres.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS and HIGHVIEW ANWELL were both held up on the final bend by the tiring BEST OF THE BUNCH.
STARSKY'S DREAM and BEST OF THE BUNCH both struck pylons on the final bend.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the home straight and went to the line untested.
LIONELS MEDDLE hung inwards late in the run home.
Driver M Love reported that he was unable to activate the removable deafeners on HIGHVIEW ANWELL due to the cord becoming entangled.
Co-Trainer G Knight informed Stewards that BEST OF THE BUNCH would no longer be persevered with as a racing proposition from their stable.
 
Race 10 WASHINGTON VC MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
COOL CHANGES paced roughly in the score up and was back slightly at the start briefly inconveniencing OASIS DREAM.
LUCKY LANDS over raced in the early stages.
MISSY MACH, SMOKIN CHICK and CHIEF KAPAI raced wide in the early stages.
COOL CHANGES over raced rounding the first bend and also in the middle stages.
Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1300 metres when FAIR DINKUM BROMAC was briefly obliged to race wider on the track. After viewing the videos it was established that BETTER SCOOT had commenced its outwards movement prior to FAIR DINKUM BROMAC reaching the sulky wheel of BETTER SCOOT. Stewards took the matter no further.
LUCKY LANDS continued to over race throughout.
MUSIC, SMOKIN CHICK, COOL CHANGES and CHIEF KAPAI were held up for clear racing room on the final bend.
NORTHVIEW GAMBLER broke near the 200 metres and continued in a break throughout the home straight.
COOL CHANGES and SMOKIN CHICK were denied clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
B Orange as the driver of BETTER SCOOT notified Stewards that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
 
Race 11 FORBURY PARK CLAIMERS SERIES (HEAT 2) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ARTISMEE hung inwards late in the score up briefly coming together with HI GUN.
ARTISMEE raced wide in the early stages.
TAIERI WINGS was held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
FRANCO NARTISCAPE was denied clear racing room over the concluding stages.
Driver N Williamson's foot briefly slipped from the sulky rest of NORTHVIEW MAJOR late in the run home.
When spoken to regarding the performance of HI GUN, Driver M Williamson reported that the gelding had peaked on its run early in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed the early signs of a respiratory infection. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to HI GUN resuming racing.
Driver N Williamson (NORTHVIEW MAJOR) was warned to change his whip action.
NORTHVIEW MAJOR was claimed by J Reardon.
MACHIE MACH was claimed by R Wilson.
