Race 1 NRM EVOLVE AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
There were no claims lodged for WESTBURN COURAGE or OUR SOUTHERN MAN.
OUR SOUTHERN MAN tended to hang out during the running when leading.
WITH A VENGEANCE was held up early on the final turn.
ELLIOT DANIEL was held up for clear running until inside the final 100 metres.
A minor infringement notice was issued and a fine of $100.00 imposed on Trainer J Abernethy (OUR SOUTHERN MAN) under Rule 869(d) for gear malfunction after the deafeners failed to activate.
 
Race 2 CASH ON COURSE AT CAMBRIDGE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
AQUICKONE hung in on the first turn.
TINA BRYDON was held up over the early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 3 FANCY A DRIVE IN A DUAL SULKY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RUEBE ROCK STAR broke shortly after the start briefly inconveniencing REV THE CHEV before settling in mid field. A warning was placed against this colt's mobile barrier manners.
REV THE CHEV paced roughly near the 500 metres and again near the 200 metres when being shifted wider on the track by improving runners.
 
Race 4 CHRISTIAN CULLEN AT NEVELE R STUD HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
Trainer N Meredith (GOSIMONGO) was charged a $25.00 colour fee.
AWA CATHRINE broke at the start settling at the rear.
STUEY D broke at the start losing considerable ground before catching the field racing down the back the final time.
TWO WISHES was slow to begin.
MADAM SPRINGFIELD broke after 100 metres but soon settled.
MADAM SPRINGFIELD broke passing the 100 metres and failed to settle. Stewards lodged a protest in that MADAM SPRINGFIELD was in breach of Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation. The connections did not contest the Protest and the Judicial Committee disqualified MADAM SPRINGFIELD from 4th placing.
 
Race 5 GOLD ACE AT NEVELE R STUD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HANOVER ALERT hung in during the latter stages of the score up.
FIRE CHASER broke shortly after the start and settled at the rear before shifting out entering the first turn contacting the sulky of JESSICA BROMAC resulting in FIRE CHASER pacing roughly for several strides. A warning was placed on this colt's mobile barrier manners.
BABY HOUSEMAN momentarily raced inside the track markers rounding the first bend when racing to the inside of CALLED TO SERVE. A Matthews (CALLED TO SERVE) was issued a warning under Rule 869(7A)(c) in that she must not cause any other runner's sulky to contact any track marker or protrude inside the marker line.
BABY HOUSEMAN lay in passing the 900 metres striking pylons.
Horseman S Abernethy advised Stewards that he was unable to activate the removable deafeners on CALLED TO SERVE due to the colt pacing roughly.
 
Race 6 PGG WRIGHTSON SALE MAY 29TH CHRISTCHURCH MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
MOB STAR paced then broke early in the score up, recovering to take its unruly position at the start.
VENTIMIGLIA broke late in the score up and failed to settle, losing all chance.
 
Race 7 HOUSE OF TRAVEL CAMBRIDGE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for DRAGON LADY or SILVER STREAM.
MEYER LANSKY broke at the start and settled at the rear.
PALAIS ROYAL trotted roughly on several occasions throughout the running and commenced to give ground racing down the back the final time.
 
Race 8 HARCOURTS TE AWAMUTU MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TIGER TAMER broke entering the first turn and settled at the rear.
SHEZA SPRINGFIELD received a punctured sulky wheel passing the 400 metres when weakening.
Stewards reviewed the video coverage with Driver T Mitchell in regard to TIGER TAMER breaking racing into the first bend. It was established that Mr Mitchell had unsuccessfully contested for a position with RIGHTEOUS ROYALE and as he took hold to ease back out onto the back of CUT THE CARDS his mare resented this and broke. CUT THE CARDS was being eased at the same time by Driver D Butcher which momentarily placed TIGER TAMER in restricted room. No further action was deemed necessary.
Junior Driver A Veint advised that he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner ASTRONOMER.
 
Race 9 NRM ASSET MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
IDEAL FLYBYE (favourite) settled back after the start and raced three back one out, improved three and four wide inside the 400 metres and ran on to finish 4th. Driver S Phelan advised Stewards that IDEAL FLYBYE had run a fair race. A post-race veterinary inspection of this mare revealed no abnormalities. Trainer A Kiddie advised Stewards that IDEAL FLYBYE would be vetted in the coming days with any abnormalities being reported back.
STAND SURE was held up rounding the final bend.
Driver P Ferguson reported that STORMY BREEZE lost the off hind shoe during the running.
Driver D Ferguson (LISDELIGHT) was spoken to advisedly and warned regarding his use of the whip over the concluding stages.
 
Race 10 CHANGEOVER AT NEVELE R STUD JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CHEERS KATHY (favourite) was restrained early and raced four back on the outer before attempting to improve leaving the back straight the final time but paced roughly and was forced wide from the 400 metres. CHEERS KATHY failed to run on finishing at the rear. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
