Co-Trainer G Chmiel advised Stewards that following the disappointing performance of REGAL SUZY, blood tests have revealed an infection which is being treated. The filly will now be given a few days off and then resume its normal training programme.

Race 1 THE PARK FUNCTION CENTRE TROT Video  Video 
CICADA JENERIK broke at the start.
TROUBLE DEL and BOYZ LET LOOSE tangled away.
ONE COOL CHICK paced in the early stages and was very slow to begin.
BOBBINS and WANDERING STAR raced wide rounding the first bend.
EXTREME FORCE broke near the 2300 metres.
BOYZ LET LOOSE over-raced rounding the first bend and broke near the 2250 metres after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky wheel of KATIES INVASION before hampering the trailing TROUBLE DEL.
BOYZ LET LOOSE continued to race fiercely near the 2100 metres resulting in LAVROS TEXAS being inconvenienced. Driver J Cox (BOYZ LET LOOSE) advised Stewards that he would be recommending the blinds be removed from this gelding for future starts.
TROUBLE DEL was placed in restricted room when racing to the inside of SCOTTIE TROUBLE near the 1900 metres and struck several pylons. Driver A Malcolmson (SCOTTIE TROUBLE) was spoken to advisedly.
BOYZ LET LOOSE again broke passing the 1800 metres before settling towards the rear of the field.
WANDERING STAR trotted roughly and had to be restrained by driver A Lowe approaching the 600 metres.
BOYZ LET LOOSE and SCOTTIE TROUBLE gave ground from the 600 metres.
KATIES INVASION tired rounding the final bend.
 
Race 2 WASHINGTON VC FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
WINGS OF HOPE underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
WINGS OF HOPE broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of the mare.
VERA MAC was back a length at the start after pacing roughly in the score up.
MISS STELLA paced roughly in the early stages.
WINGS OF HOPE broke near the 700 metres losing its chance.
Driver S Walkinshaw (NIGHT TACTICS) was advised to change his whip action.
 
Race 3 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The boring pole on PLAY ACTION broke shortly after the start. This gear was inspected and found to be of good quality.
OHOKA D C hung outwards in the early stages and broke racing into the first bend.
JUSTA DALE over-raced in the middle stages.
LOIRE FRANCO hung inwards on the bend near the 1400 metres.
LOIRE FRANCO again hung inwards near the 400 metres.
STRAIGHT THRU BLUE was held up for clear racing room on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
ALTAR EGO and TARANTO struck pylons on the final bend.
PLAY ACTION shifted outwards near the 150 metres and briefly locked sulky stays with TARTAN TROUBLES.
FLAMBOYANT hung inwards in the run home.
ALTAR EGO was placed in restricted room just short of the winning post.
When questioned regarding the performance of BLADE, Trainer/driver G Smith reported that he was slightly disappointed with the effort. Mr Smith added that he would have blood tests taken from the colt in the coming days and would advise Stewards of the results.
 
Race 4 G J GARDNER PACE Video  Video 
REAL SOUTH, FRANCO TEXAS, DESIRABLE STYX, MUSTANG BULLITT and O'GARA all broke at the start with FRANCO TEXAS and O'GARA losing considerable ground while DESIRABLE STYX lost all chance.
STAR SINGER was slow to begin.
SPINYBACK hung inwards racing into the first bend when improving to the lead.
STAR SINGER and CAESAR'S JADE both over-raced in the middle stages.
MUSTANG BULLITT gave ground rounding the final bend.
CAESAR'S JADE struck a pylon on the final bend.
O'GARA was held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
FRANCO TEXAS hung inwards in the run home.
 
Race 5 STUNIN CULLEN FORBURY SPRINT SERIES (HEAT 2) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
STAR OF COURAGE hung outwards late in the score up and was back slightly at the start.
BANORA BOY was briefly placed in restricted room shortly after the start after being crossed by HUDSON SULLY.
BANORA BOY and ONE OUT OF FOUR raced wide in the early stages.
Racing into the first bend HUDSON SULLY broke when being restrained by driver D Dunn and shifted inwards despite Mr Dunn's efforts checking FIREBREAK and PENNYANA which broke near the 750 metres. VEGA SICILIA and ONE OUT OF FOUR were also checked in this incident.
A warning was placed on the racing manners of HUDSON SULLY.
BANORA BOY was held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 6 PRYDES EASIFEED TROT Video  Video 
Trainer S Lock was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice under Rule 849(2) in that SNOW BOY and APOLLO MISSION were presented onto the track without their numbers and was fined $100.
SUNNIVUE SADONA backed away just prior to the start being effected with ELTSUNAMI being checked after the barrier was released. A warning was placed on the standing start record of SUNNIVUE SADONA.
APOLLO MISSION and THE EARTH MOVED both broke at the start.
O'DRISCOLL trotted roughly rounding the first bend.
SNOW BOY and SUNNIVUE SADONA hung inwards near the 2300 metres and struck several pylons.
YGRITTE broke near the 350 metres. Stewards will speak with Driver J Cox in the coming days regarding this.
SNOW BOY again hung inwards on the final bend and struck several pylons.
ELTSUNAMI was held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend and throughout the home straight.
LIMA LAD trotted roughly in the early stages of the run home.
O'DRISCOLL trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be driven out by R Swain.
When questioned regarding the performance of OCTOBER RAIN, Trainer/driver G Smith reported that the gelding had over-raced throughout which had taken its toll over the concluding stages.
Prior to the all clear being given, driver A Beck sought a ruling from the JCA under Rule 213(1)(j) to determine whether ELTSUNAMI had been denied a fair start when checked by SUNNIVUE SADONA at the start. After hearing from Mr Beck, Starter W Ferguson and Stewards, the JCA were satisfied that ELTSUNAMI had not been denied a fair start and ELTSUNAMI was declared a runner.
 
Race 7 JUST ESSENCE CATERING PACE Video  Video 
CAESAR ROCKS, ROME and CAN'T GET ENOUGH broke at the start.
VERA'S DELIGHT lost ground in the early stages after being hampered by the breaking CAESAR ROCKS and ROME.
RORY MACH paced roughly racing into the first bend.
CAN'T GET ENOUGH over-raced in the middle stages.
CAN'T GET ENOUGH gave ground rounding the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination of CAN'T GET ENOUGH revealed no abnormalities.
CAESAR ROCKS and LADY GODIVA were held up for clear racing room rounding the final bend.
VERA'S DELIGHT and LADY GODIVA locked wheels near the 300 metres.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of RORY MACH, trainer M Denton explained that he had recently moved to a new property and the gelding had thrived in its new environment. He added that RORY MACH had improved since its last start when fresh up from a spell.
Driver A Beck admitted a breach of Rule 862(2) in that he allowed RATTLING THUNDER to start from the incorrect barrier position and was fined $200 by the JCA.
RATTLING THUNDER was placed on the unruly from standing starts at the request of trainer A Black.
 
Race 8 SPEIGHTS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer P Robertson (HANDLEBAR HANK) was charged a $25 colour fee.
DRIVE THE DREAM paced roughly racing into the first bend.
SUMTALA raced wide in the early stages.
Near the 1550 metres SIOUX NATION (R Close) shifted down the track when insufficiently clear of ROCKEFELLER (D Dunn) resulting in ROCKEFELLER being forced to race over several pylons and breaking. Mr Close with the assistance of Senior Horseman N Williamson admitted a breach under Rule 869(3)(b) of careless driving causing the above incident. After hearing submissions on penalty and viewing the replays, the JCA suspended Mr Close's Junior Horseman's licence from after racing at the New Zealand Metropolitan TC meeting on 22 May 2015 up to and including 31 May 2015 (2 days).
BLEACH gave ground rounding the final bend.
HANDLEBAR HANK struck several pylons near the 250 metres.
SIOUX NATION was held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
MINSTREL BOY was held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.
 
Race 9 KEEP IT CLEAN HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
Shortly after the start ZHENYA broke losing a considerable amount of ground.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR broke when negotiating the first bend.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR again broke briefly nearing the 1200 metres.
CHIOLA BELLE tired from the 800 metres inconveniencing ARMORI and CHEEKY PAT. Stewards requested a veterinary examination of the mare which revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of CHIOLA BELLE.
DANNY COOL and CHEEKY PAT both gave ground on the final bend.
OCH AYE THE NOO hung inwards in the early stages of the run home.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR broke again shortly after passing the 50 metres and continued on in a gallop across the finish line. The all clear was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that this mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations.
 
Race 10 RICOH HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
BETTER TO BE BAD broke as the start was effected losing a considerable amount of ground.
BETTER TO BE BAD then proceeded to tire from the 500 metres.
RIVER BLACK hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight.
Driver S Golding (BETTER TO BE BAD) was shown a replay and issued with a warning for anticipating the start.
 
Race 11 FORBURY PARK CLAIMERS SERIES (HEAT 1) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FRANCO CALIPH was a late scratching at 10.42am with a veterinary certificate provided.
HI GUN underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
JERRY FITZ was out of position at the start. Junior Horseman C Ferguson was shown a replay and advised that a greater effort to maintain his barrier position is expected in future.
JERRY FITZ over-raced in the early stages.
TAIERI WINGS and HI GUN over-raced in the middle stages.
PRIME LEGAL commenced to tire rapidly from the 700 metres inconveniencing TUBBY JIM. Stewards requested a veterinary examination of PRIME LEGAL which revealed the gelding to be suffering from atrial fibrillation. A veterinary clearance including an ECG will be required prior to the gelding resuming.
TUBBY JIM raced in restricted room on the final bend and struck several pylons.
HI GUN hung inwards rounding the final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home.
HOKURI RAILRIDA was held up in the early stages of the final straight.
TUBBY JIM was held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight.
MIKE MCKAID was unable to obtain clear racing room over the concluding stages.
AVEROSS BRACHOLE was claimed by ballot by D Pearce.
TUBBY JIM was claimed by ballot by B Gooch.
