Race 1 INVERCARGILL WORKOUTS COMMITTEE TROT Video  Video 
SEA EYRE, STRATHSPEY BOY and MR ROBINSON all broke at the start with SEA EYRE and MR ROBINSON losing considerable ground.
Shortly after the start STRATHSPEY BOY broke again, with EXTREME FORCE, ONE COOL CHICK and BOBBINS also breaking at this point.
BOBBINS again broke passing the 1500 metres.
STRATHSPEY BOY broke again near the 1100 metres.
On the bend near the 900 metres GREY FERNCO and MR ROBINSON broke.
On the bend racing towards the 400 metres CONALL CERNACH (B Shirley) broke when positioned to the inside of BOYZ LET LOOSE (J Cox) with CONALL CERNACH losing its chance. Stewards spoke with drivers B Shirley and J Cox regarding this incident and after considering the explanations of both horsemen J Cox was issued with and admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) Careless Driving the details of which alleged that he had failed to make a sufficient effort to ensure he did not restrict the racing room of CONALL CERNACH. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $350.
ONE COOL CHICK hung inwards on the final turn and dislodged a track marker.
EXTREME FORCE and THE BADGER were both removed from the Unruly for future standing starts.
 
Race 2 BLUFF RACEDAY - MONDAY 1 JUNE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
O'GARA had difficulty maintaining its barrier position throughout the final stages of the score up.
FUZZY MUZZA raced roughly passing the 800 metres.
SONJA CONGO weakened passing the 500 metres.
 
Race 3 LEVEL ONE RESTAURANT & BAR TROT Video  Video 
SUN SHINE WHIZ broke briefly at the start.
CHEEKY PAT broke racing into the first bend inconveniencing SUN SHINE WHIZ.
ELTSUNAMI broke when attempting to improve wide with 1200 metres to run with BEYOND A JOKE being inconvenienced and ELTSUNAMI subsequently losing its chance in the event.
SUN SHINE WHIZ was retired from the event with 800 metres to run.
ELTSUNAMI broke again briefly near the 500 metres.
M Williamson reported that DANNY COOL had carried a punctured sulky tyre for the final 250 metres. Mr Williamson advised he elected not to activate the removable deafeners on the gelding due to having the field covered.
Stewards spoke with F Service as the driver of SUN SHINE WHIZ regarding the manner he drove between the 1300 metres and the 1000 metres when shifting to a four wide position and placing that gelding under significant pressure to improve its position. Shortly after the 1000 metres SUN SHINE WHIZ was eased down and retired from the race. After considering his explanation Mr Service was charged with a breach of Rule 869(3)(g) the details of which being that he had miscounted the rounds. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Mr Service and the Stewards the JCA imposed a suspension of Mr Service's licence to drive from the conclusion of racing today up to and including the 16th July. G Woodhouse as the trainer of CHEEKY PAT was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the off hind bandage so as not to come adrift.
 
Race 4 MORE FM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ANNIE FITZ broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
The favourite THREE DREAMS over raced when racing in the parked position for the majority of the event.
BETTA GO FERNCO was held up in the early and middle stages of the run home and then hung outwards over the final 100 metres with GIRL COURAGE having to be restrained in consequence.
HEZABLUECHIPBOY hung inwards over the final stages which caused THREE DREAMS to briefly race in restricted room.
 
Race 5 NIGHT 'N DAY RACING SYNDICATE HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
O'DRISCOLL broke racing into the first bend.
STARLIGHT STARBRIGHT and ARI GOLD broke near the 2400 metres and lost ground.
MOKOSUN hung inwards on the final bend.
ARI GOLD broke again with 400 metres to run losing all chance.
GEE UP NEDDY raced roughly throughout the run home.
SIXTY PLUS broke over the final stages.
 
Race 6 GOLDEN GIRLS SOUTHLAND SERIES (HEAT 4) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
VAN EVA hung rounding the bend by the 900 metres.
KENNINGTON KANDEE gave ground from the 400 metres.
VERA'S DELIGHT had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room for the majority of the run home.
 
Race 7 BURGESS MASONRY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ELLE KO broke racing into the first bend when racing in tight quarters. As a result of this STRAIGHT THRU BLUE, PEPPERJACK, IDUNKNOW, ALL JOKES ASIDE, WICK and DISSOLUTION all had to be steadied. When questioned regarding this driver N Williamson explained that the filly had broken free of interference when racing in tight quarters. Trainer M Brown advised he would be making gear changes prior to ELLE KO racing next. A warning was however placed on the racing manners of ELLE KO.
STRAIGHT THRU BLUE had to be steadied in the early stages of the run home when racing to the outside of IDUNKNOW which had been taken wider on the track by ALL JOKES ASIDE which shifted outwards under pressure.
NIGHT TACTICS was held up in the early stages of the run home.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of LAMBORNE ROAD driver C Ferguson reported the gelding had been unsuited to leading at its previous start and had appreciated being driven with cover today. Mr Ferguson added that when circumstances permit the gelding would continue to be driven in that manner.
When questioned regarding the performance of DISSOLUTION driver J Cox explained the gelding had been unsuited to today's track conditions.
 
Race 8 CLUB SOUTHLAND MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BANORA BOY raced keenly when being restrained in the early stages.
PAT'S LEGACY raced three wide through the early to middle stages.
FIRST FLIGHT IN raced fiercely through the middle stages and choked down passing the 1100 metres falling to the track. As a result LEAVE IT TO ME, PAT CAMPBELL, BANORA BOY and SUMTALA all had to be steadied and shift ground. Driver N Williamson was examined by the St Johns Ambulance Paramedics and cleared to fulfil his remaining driving engagements today. A post-race veterinary examination of FIRST FLIGHT IN revealed the gelding had suffered no injuries.
The connections of FIRST FLIGHT IN were advised that their gelding had been stood down until such time as it can complete a satisfactory trial and a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing next.
ROCKEFELLER and SNIGGIHDIS over raced in the middle stages.
FLIGHT DECK shifted outwards under pressure throughout the final straight.
When questioned with regard to the performance of PAT CAMPBELL driver D Dunn advised that the filly was unsuited by the tempo of the race and that when he attempted to improve wide on the final bend PAT CAMPBELL had struck its knee.
 
Race 9 WILLY'S FLOORING HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
LEIGH MAJOR broke at the start.
ULTRA SHOK raced keenly through the early stages.
CANARDLY LOVER (S Walkinshaw) broke with 100 metres remaining after it had become awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of ULTRA SHOK. When questioned regarding this S Walkinshaw advised that he had attempted a marginal run to the outside of ULTRA SHOK but after realising there was insufficient room restrained the gelding. Mr Walkinshaw further added that when he angled out to continue improving CANARDLY LOVER had become unbalanced and broken. Not withstanding this explanation S Walkinshaw was issued with a warning for the manner in which he shifted ground and advised that a better effort would be expected in future when in similar circumstances.
J Cox driver of DELIGHTFUL DASH reported the removable deafeners had only activated on one side due to the cord having broken.
 
Race 10 AON/VERO INSURANCE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
IN THE KITTY was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.59 pm.
SWEET AS raced roughly when being restrained near the 800 metres.
GEORDIE SIVAD paced roughly passing the 600 metres.
LAWLESS raced roughly on the final bend when awkwardly positioned near the sulky of COOL CHANGES.
GEORDIE SIVAD raced roughly and had to be restrained near the 100 metres when checked by TACT TATE after that runner had been shifted outwards by SOUTHERN PURSUIT and MOONDYNE JOE.
 
Race 11 SWEET LOU AT WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
NORTHVIEW HANOVER paced roughly on several occasions throughout the running.
TARANTO and LAUGHING CAVALIER were both held up on the final bend and throughout the run home.
FRANCO NOIRE hung outwards over the final stages and in consequence had difficulty obtaining clear racing room.
MORDECAI raced roughly over the final stages.
