Race 1 HOKONUI MID CANTERBURY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HERE COMES HELEN broke shortly after the start after becoming awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of MILLWOOD LANOCH after both horses shifted ground marginally.
Entering the first bend GLITZY GAL paced roughly.
CORINGA DELIGHT raced keenly through the middle stages and nearing the 800 metres had to be restrained when awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of SHARDS HALO.
GLITZY GAL hung inwards and paced roughly passing the 350 metres.
ROSEOFPERFECTION paced roughly on several occasions in the run home.
G Payne (SHARDS HALO) was advised to change his whip action.
 
Race 2 ASHBURTON SECURITY TROT Video  Video 
JANA'S WISHES and BELMONT'S GREATEST came together at the start. As a result BELMONT'S GREATEST broke and shifted outwards checking JANA'S WISHES onto HARRIET OF MOT which broke with BELMONT'S GREATEST continuing to hamper HARRIET OF MOT for some distance. A warning was placed on the standing start record of BELMONT'S GREATEST.
THE DENNISTON ROSE and NATIVES LASTING LOVE also broke at the start.
ELLA LAVRA was slow to begin.
I ASKED NICELY and MISSIE CASTLETON broke on the first bend.
BELMONT'S GREATEST weakened passing the 700 metres.
Passing the 400 metres RUM IN THE SUN broke and lost its chance.
NATIVES LASTING LOVE and IZINTHEZONE were held up in the early stages of the run home.
NO FEARS broke passing the 100 metres.
ARRAN CHIEF broke with 60 metres remaining.
JANA'S WISHES trotted roughly late in the run home and broke shortly after the winning post.
Authorisation of 2nd placing being awarded to HARRIET OF MOT was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking over the early stages after being checked.
A post-race veterinary examination was carried out on JANA'S WISHES due to the mare returning to the birdcage with an injury to its heel area. This examination revealed an abrasion to the bulb which required treatment.

K C PEDRO raced roughly passing the 1700 metres when racing keenly. When questioned regarding the performance of K C PEDRO, driver D Dunn could offer no tangible reason other than to say the gelding would be better suited to being driven with a sit in future.
 
Race 4 MORGAN FENCING LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
TOOT TOOT broke shortly after the start with a warning placed on the gelding's barrier record. The connections advised it was their intention to spell their horse and restrict it to standing starts in future.
YIPPE KI YAY hung inwards and struck pylons passing the 1300 metres.
 
Race 5 ROBILLIARDS SHOWCASE JEWELLERS PACE Video  Video 
DREAMY DAMIEN broke at the start and lost considerable ground.
SIFTY TUESDAY raced roughly for some distance rounding the first bend.
STUNIN DUDE raced roughly passing the 600 metres.
CULLENS LADY was unable to gain clear racing room throughout the home straight.
Driver T Williams (HAPPY AS LARRY) dropped his leg momentarily in the run home.
HICKSTEAD raced in restricted room between SIFTY TUESDAY and BILLY KLONDIKE when these runners shifted ground marginally over the concluding stages.

MOTU MAKE A SPLASH broke in the score up and lost its chance in the race. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
Driver M Neilson reported she had not activated the removable deafeners on GRACIOUS STAR due to having the field covered and that the mare had been inclined to hang outwards throughout the run home.
 
Race 7 MURRAY SMITH ALUMINIUM TROT Video  Video 
A false start was declared when the barrier strands failed to release.
STAR COMMANDO and MEL GIBSON broke shortly after the start with both runners losing ground.
COMMANDER PARIS raced wide and without cover through the early and middle stages.
ONE YANKEE HALL raced keenly throughout.
BERKSHIRE SON trotted roughly rounding the final bend then broke entering the straight.
G Smith (GREAT THINGS HAPPEN) advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
D O'Connell (MIRI) was warned to change his whip action.
 
Race 8 RD PETROLEUM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SOMEBEACH N CLOVELLY raced greenly and skied its head near the 1300 metres, this resulted in an easing of the pace in the one out line with AS KIWI AS, NO WAY ELSE, WEEDON'S EXPRESS, JERICHO and DONEGAL CAM'S CARD having to be steadied.
MAJOR PATRON raced keenly through the middle stages.
MAJOR PATRON which was over-racing was awkwardly positioned to the inside of CHAMPAGNE DREAMS near the 300 metres after CHAMPAGNE DREAMS had shifted outwards slightly, this resulted in MAJOR PATRON striking several pylons.
IT'S ALL OVER NOW, JERICHO and AS KIWI AS had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
The connections of CHAMPAGNE DREAMS advised they had received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
 
Race 9 GARY MCCORMICK TRANSPORT HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
I'VE GOT THIS trotted roughly throughout. When questioned regarding the performance of I'VE GOT THIS, driver J Dunn advised that the gelding had been striking itself in behind causing it to trot roughly. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the near-hind hock to have swelling consistent with being struck. A veterinary certificate is required for the gelding prior to resuming.
A post-race veterinary examination on ALL LIT UP was requested after the gelding returned to the parade area with blood present in a nostril. This examination deemed the gelding not to be a bleeder.
 
Race 10 PREMIER EQUINE VETS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
PARRAMATTA paced roughly throughout the early stages.
TOP BRASS and PARRAMATTA raced keenly in the middle stages.
J Curtin (TOKOHOKA) briefly dropped his foot in the early stages of the run home.
BELMONT FIRE was unable to gain clear racing room throughout the run home.
EVA SOPHNALLY had to be steadied when laying inwards when passing the 80 metres.
LIVURA received a punctured sulky wheel which resulted in the tube coming adrift over the concluding stages.

NOTHINGTOLAUGHABOUT shied as the barriers were released.
OUTTA SIGHT, HUDSON SULLY, FRANCO SANCHEZ, BEST DEFENCE and FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ all broke at the start.
JUST BEN was checked by OUTTA SIGHT which shifted ground when breaking at the start. A warning was placed on the standing start record of OUTTA SIGHT.
GIVETHEJOBTOBARNSY was inconvenienced briefly by the breaking OUTTA SIGHT and JUST BEN shortly after the start.
Entering the first bend FRANCO SANCHEZ broke again.
YOUNG MISTER GRACE raced wide from the 800 metres.
LOVETODREAM hung inwards in the early stages of the run home.
FRANCO SANCHEZ hung inwards throughout the run home.
MARITIME ARDEN hung outwards throughout the run home.
COYOTE broke and stumbled passing the 100 metres and in doing so inconvenienced YOUNG MISTER GRACE.

Authorisation of 2nd and 4th placing being awarded to (JUST BEN) and (FRANCO SANCHEZ) respectively were withheld until Stewards were satisfied that both horses had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking over the early stages.
