Race Comments
Race 1 BISHOPDALE/BUSH INN TABS & TAVERN HAREWOOD MOBILE PACE Video  Video
Permission was granted for driver P Anderson (HANDLEBAR HANK) to wear the colours of M Jones.
BANDANA raced wide in the early stages.
LEXINGTON LAD broke near the 1500 metres and lost ground while racing in the trail after being placed awkwardly to the inside of SMOKIN CHICK after BANDANA had improved forward to the parked position. BANDANA was then able to be placed in the vacated position in the trail. Stewards questioned drivers G Turner (LEXINGTON LAD), R Sissons (SMOKIN CHICK) and A White (BANDANA) regarding this incident. After hearing from all drivers along with Stewards own observations, Mr Sissons was issued with and admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he allowed SMOKIN CHICK to shift inwards checking LEXINGTON LAD. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
Near the 1300 metres SMOKIN CHICK hung outwards simultaneously to CIMARRON hanging inwards resulting in these runners locking wheels for a short distance and becoming disorganised.
LEXINGTON LAD tired over the concluding stages with trainer/driver G Turner advising he would no longer be persevering with this gelding.
SELESTER was subjected to a post-race veterinary examination and cleared of any clinical abnormalities. Amateur Horsewoman S Blake (SELESTER) was questioned into the reasons why she failed to improve outwards into clear running over the early and middle stages of the run home when the opportunity was afforded to her to do so. After hearing Ms Blake's explanation she was issued with a charge under Rule 868(2) in that she failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures over the concluding stages to ensure that SELESTER had been given full opportunity to obtain the best possible finishing place. Ms Blake admitted the breach with the J.C.A imposing a fine of $400 and suspending her licence to drive from the conclusion of racing at the Thames HRC's meeting on the 3rd May 2015 up to 30th June 2015 inclusive.
No claims were lodged for KING CYRIL.
