Trainer L Pearson advised that the blood tests taken from BLACK ROCK BABE showed abnormalities and the mare would now be sent for a lengthy spell.

Race 1 LAMB & CALF DRIVE SUPPORTERS MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
CICADA JENERIK broke near the 1800 metres losing all chance.
DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR raced keenly when being restrained to take a trail behind EVANDER D GO near the 1800 metres.
Approaching the 1500 metres DANNY COOL (B Williamson) briefly raced wider on the track when SIN BIN (N Williamson) improved in front of it. When questioned regarding this B Williamson advised that he elected to allow DANNY COOL to race wider rather than taking a hold at this stage and risking the gelding breaking. He also confirmed that SIN BIN had shifted outwards prior to him reaching its sulky wheel. After viewing the replays this also confirmed the explanation forwarded by Mr. B Williamson with no further action required.
THE EARTH MOVED raced fiercely through the middle stages.
ROSIE EXPRESS broke with 1150 metres to run losing all chance.
ONE COOL CHICK hung inwards when improving wide on the final bend.
THE EARTH MOVED trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of ARI GOLD trainer W McEwan advised that he had changed the recent training regime of the gelding and in his opinion this combined with recent gear alterations and the mobile start had contributed to the winning effort today.
When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DANNY COOL driver B Williamson advised the gelding had over raced and worked hard through the middle stages and this had taken its toll over the concluding stages.
 
Race 2 PGG WRIGHTSON MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MACH DENARIO broke early in the score up and was back off the gate by several lengths at the dispatch.
LIAM SIENNA broke just after the dispatch point before settling near the rear of the field.
LEAVE IT TO ME was caught wide without cover over the early stages before being restrained to the back of the field.
ANNAJODI was held up on the final bend and only obtained clear racing room over the final 80 metres. Driver A Armour advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on the filly due to being late to receive clear room.
ROCKY ROAD paced roughly passing the 400 metres.
MACH OF THE MAN was also held up round the final bend and throughout the final straight with driver D Dunn advising he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners.
COOL CHANGES was held up until the final 100 metres.
SWEET LORESS (B McLellan) broke near the 80 metres after being easeed wider on the track by the improving COOL CHANGES (N Williamson). When questioned regarding the breaking of SWEET LORESS driver B McLellan advised that COOL CHANGES was entitled to shift outwards and the movement had been in a gradual manner and he did not apportion any blame on that runner. After viewing the replays the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was required.
 
Race 3 THE ROCKS RESTAURANT & BAR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BOOSTER broke in the score up before being retired from the event shortly after the start by driver R McIlwrick. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which revealed no clinical abnormalities. A warning was subsequently placed on the mobile barrier manners of BOOSTER
ONE BAD DREAM was held up on the final bend before shifting ground outwards near the 300 metres to obtain clear running.
RIVER PATROL lay outwards over the concluding stages while being driven out by R Swain.
The Stewards questioned driver R McIlwrick regarding the reason he retired BOOSTER so early during the race and also regarding the manner it was returned to the birdcage.Mr McIlwrick advised that he felt something must have been amiss with with BOOSTER due to it breaking which was unusual. He added that his chances were effectively over due to the amount of ground he would have had to make up. Mr McIlwrick further advised he walked BOOSTER back to the birdcage as he was unsure whether something was amiss with BOOSTER and he did not wish to aggravate any issues which may have been present.
 
Race 4 ADVANCE AGRICULTURE LTD/MCHUGH BUILDING LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ANNIE FITZ broke in the score up and was back several lengths at the dispatch with the connections advised the filly was on a final warning for its mobile barrier manners.
TARTAN TROUBLES hung inwards racing into the first bend.
BOLD RULER and MAN I'M GOOD both raced keenly through the middle stages.
NOVAK was denied racing room on the final bend.
BOLD RULER was unable to gain racing room on the final bend and had to shift ground throughout the run home before running out of racing room over the concluding stages.
When questioned regarding the performance of JACKY'S CHOICE driver D Dunn advised he thought the gelding had performed well giving the inexperience of the gelding and the work it completed over the early stages when working to the lead.
R Swain advised he was unable to activate the sliding blinds on PEPPERJACK due to the cord becoming entangled.
 
Race 5 SSBA GOLDEN GIRLS SOUTHLAND SERIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DONNAMACH broke in the early stages of the score up however recovered to take up its correct position at the dispatch point.
Shortly after the start BOOTIE BROMAC broke for a few strides and shifted inwards onto BEAUDIENE CLEMINTYNE on its inside. As a result BEAUDIENE CLEMINTYNE briefly locked wheels with LEIGH MAJOR.
BOOTIE BROMAC then broke after improving into the trail near the 1300 metres with the mare failing to settle for a considerable distance and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of BOOTIE BROMAC.
BEAUDIENE CLEMINTYNE which was caught three wide without cover through the early stages commenced to give ground from the 900 metres finishing a distant last placing. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of BEAUDIENE CLEMINTYNE which revealed the mare to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. The connections were advised a veterinary clearance complete with ECG was required prior to the mare racing next.
KIWI FOCUS which was improving wide on the track near the 300 metres hung inwards and continued to hang inwards throughout the run home with the mare having to be straightened approaching the 100 metres by driver N Williamson.
SAGE ran out of racing room over the concluding stages.
 
Race 6 GALLAGHER ANIMAL MANAGEMENT MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SMOKIN HOME, O'GARA and GRESHEES PRINCESS were all back off the gate at the dispatch point.
SMOKIN HOME broke shortly after the dispatch losing any realistic chance in the event. A warning was placed on the geldings mobile barrier manners.
GRESHEES PRINCESS broke briefly shortly after the start and paced roughly over the early stages then lost contact with the body of the field when the pace increased from the 1800 metres.
O'GARA also paced roughly racing into the first bend.
GRESHEES PRINCESS broke again near the 800 metres.
 
Race 7 COX FAMILY HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
GOLDEN GATE broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MASS INVASION broke briefly at the start.
OVERCAST also broke at the start.
POPPYMALDA and MOMENT OF SUN broke after approximately 150 metres with both these runners losing considerable ground.
DAVEY'S GIFT (B Williamson) broke with 1800 metres to run after being eased downwards by EXPERIMENT (D Dunn) on its outside. DAVEY'S GIFT failed to settle for a considerable distance losing its chance.
SIXTY PLUS which was racing in the one/one position broke with 800 metres to run with the mare failing to settle for a considerable distance.
Passing the 400 metres SANTORINI SUNSET broke with this gelding losing its chance.
Driver R McIlwrick reported to the Stewards he elected not to activate the removable deafeners on JACCKA JACK due to the gelding trotting roughly over the concluding stages.
 
Race 8 WINTON BUSINESSES CUP MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MILLIGAN bucked in the score up then broke losing several lengths.
After approximately 400 metres JOEY MAGUIRE (S Walkinshaw) which had challenged for the lead attempted unsuccessfully to improve into the trailing position which was taken by MATCH POINT (B Barclay).
RONNOCO hung racing into the first bend and continued to hang round the initial turn.
SMART CAESAR was forced to race four wide passing the 1000 metres before obtaining cover three wide with 700 metres to run.
MATCH POINT, STARSKY'S DREAM, RONNOCO, TED WEST and MILLIGAN were all held up on the final bend with TED WEST and STARSKY'S DREAM further held up through the early stages of the home straight.
 
Race 9 JOHN KEENAN MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LEONARDO which made contact with the galloping track running rail in the preliminary underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
ANOTHER WINDERMERE hung while racing in the parked position for the majority of the race.
NOTHINGFORTHEMEDIA paced roughly passing the 400 metres.
ARDEN CASTLE was unable to gain racing room on the final bend.
 
Race 10 SBS BANK MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LUCKY LANDS raced keenly over the early stages.
REGAL IDEAL raced greenly in the early stages skying its head on a number of occasions.
REGAL IDEAL continued to race greenly which resulted in the running lines becoming disorganised passing the 1600 metre mark. As a result GROOMSMAN (S Walkinshaw) elected to progress forward three wide.
Just prior to the home straight GROOMSMAN which was commencing to tire shifted ground outwards forcing SAMMY THE BULL, REGAL IDEAL and TITAN BANNER wider on the track.
HUDSON SULLY raced in tight quarters passing the 150 metres.
