Pre-race blood testing was carried out.
W Higgs notified Stewards that he was unwell and would therefore be unable to fulfill his driving engagement in Race 9 upon REKLAW SUPREME. Mr R Close was notified as the replacement driver.

Race 8 - NEVELE R/MACCA LODGE SOUTHLAND OAKS FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
Trainer M Jones contacted Stewards and advised that blood tests taken from ROCKER BAND had revealed the filly to be suffering from a viral infection. Mr Jones added that treatment had commenced and should the filly recover as expected it was his intention to continue with its racing programme.

Trainer G O'Reilly advised Stewards that blood tests taken from CARRICKMANNON revealed that the mare was suffering from a viral infection.

Race 1 TERROR TO LOVE - WINNER OF 31 RACES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BAYWATCH was a late scratching at 12.55pm on veterinary advice.
VOLATILE LAVRA raced keenly in the score up and was back a length at the start. Driver C Thornley was reminded of his obligations to make a greater effort to maintain his position behind the mobile.
CLASSIELEA, VOLATILE LAVRA and MILLWOOD LANOCH raced keenly in the early stages.
LADY WARHOL hung inwards racing into the first bend.
CLASSIELEA raced wide in the early stages before being taken forward to the lead near the 1500 metres.
CLASSIELEA hung outwards between the 1350 metres and the 1250 metres.
FLAGPOLE raced keenly during the middle stages.
LADY WARHOL paced roughly passing the 800 metres.
FLAGPOLE cast a boot on the final bend.
YIPPE KI YAY weakened passing the 300 metres resulting in BOOMER BAILEY being held up for clear racing room.
SEMPER FIDELIS hung outwards throughout the home straight.
Junior driver K Grant (EILEAN SHONA) in the presence of her employer J Kennett was shown a replay and warned for using her whip when out of contention.
When questioned regarding the performance of first starter VOLATILE LAVRA driver C Thornley explained the horse had raced greenly throughout and felt it would benefit from the experience.
 
Race 2 TERROR TO LOVE - WINNER OF 22 GROUP RACES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
SONEY BEATT was fractious behind the barriers causing a delay to the start.
As the barriers were released INSIGNIFICANT reared and swung inwards making contact with driver P Williamson (HEARD THE WHISPER). Due to this HEARD THE WHISPER and INSIGNIFICANT were slow in the early stages and settled a considerable distance in arrears of the field. HEARD THE WHISPER also sustained a buckled sulky wheel. Trainer B Hutton advised he would reassess the upcoming racing programme and would give consideration to sending INSIGNIFICANT for a brief spell. A warning was placed on the barrier record of INSIGNIFICANT.
ALVIRA HEST and KEEPING THE DREAM broke in the early stages and lost considerable ground.
HAZEL ALICE was checked by the breaking ALVIRA HEST after 100 metres.
THE ZIGMEISTER broke after about 200 metres.
Racing past the 800 metres COMMANDER PARIS broke and lost its chance.
SHELL SEEKER hung inwards on the final bend and trotted roughly under pressure near the 300 metres.
PETITE ROYAL trotted roughly in the run home.
Driver P Williamson (HEARD THE WHISPER) was examined by St Johns officials following the event and cleared of any injury.
 
Race 3 TERROR TO LOVE OUT OF BROODMARE OF THE YEAR LOVETOLIVE PACE Video  Video 
ALL NUTS N BOLTS began awkwardly.
THE EDGE OF REASON broke at the start.
CLIVE broke in the early stages and lost a considerable amount of ground.
ALLISON STOKKE raced wide in the early stages.
ALLISON STOKKE had to be restrained near the 100 metres when disappointed for clear racing room between LISTENTOTHEMUSIC which shifted inwards marginally and SHARDS HALO which was hanging outwards. Driver G Payne (SHARDS HALO) was shown a replay and warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
THE CROFTER raced roughly in the final stages.
 
Race 4 TERROR TO LOVE - WINNER OF $2.43 MILLION MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CLASSIE BRIGADE underwent and passed a pre-race Veterinary examination after the colt had become trapped in the float when being unloaded.
SPARKLING DELIGHT was back a length at the start. Driver G O'Reilly was reminded of his obligations to maintain his barrier position until the start point.
ULTIMATE DESIRE broke in the early stages and lost a significant amount of ground. Driver J Dunn advised that he would be recommending the addition of hopple shorteners to the filly's gear for future starts.
Driver R May (CLASSIE BRIGADE) briefly dropped his foot from the sulky rest passing the 300 metres when activating the removable deafeners.
 
Race 5 TERROR TO LOVE - AUCKLAND CUP WINNER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ROYAL COUNSEL raced keenly throughout the middle stages. Driver K Cox reported that the removable deafeners had activated in the score up.
The hopple shorteners were not activated on the winner BOOM GATE during the running. Stewards questioned junior driver M Purvis regarding this. Mr Purvis explained that the gelding had travelled comfortably in front with the shorteners intact and he was reluctant to activate them when able to dictate a moderate tempo which was to his advantage. Mr Purvis added that it had been his intention to remove the pins at a later stage of the running however he had not done so. In considering the explanation of Mr Purvis, Stewards took into account the fact that BOOM GATE had won the race and also Mr Purvis relative inexperience and cautioned him for failing to activate gear during the race. Mr Purvis was further cautioned for failing to advise Stewards at the earliest opportunity that the gear had not been activated.
 
Race 6 TERROR TO LOVE - NZ CUP WINNER 2011 HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
PETERHOF was placed in restricted room by CLEAN BREAK as the start was effected and was slow away.
SOLAR SAM and DANKE broke at the start.
SALTWATER GOLD broke in the early stages.
JEAN SEBASTIEN was checked by the breaking DANKE after 100 metres.
SALTWATER GOLD again broke near the 1400 metres losing its chance.
SAINT MICHEL broke briefly passing the 400 metres.
PRICE OF FAME broke near the 350 metres when improving wider on the track and lost its chance.
 
Race 7 TERROR TO LOVE - NZ CUP WINNER 2012 MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ASK ME MACH raced keenly in the early stages.
THIS AIN'T TENNESSEE hung inwards racing into the first bend.
BETABCOOL raced wide in the early and middle stages.
GYRATE over-raced in the middle stages.
THIS AIN'T TENNESSEE hung inwards under pressure on the final bend and paced roughly.
CANNDEW was held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home. Driver P Davis advised he did not activate the removable deafeners.
Stewards questioned driver T Chmiel regarding the reasons he elected not to activate the hopple shorteners on GYRATE. Mr Chmiel explained that the horse had in previous racing and trackwork raced roughly and to assist him tonight Mr Chmiel had taken the hopples up two holes. Mr Chmiel added that GYRATE had paced well for the majority of the running tonight which had encouraged him to not activate the shorteners. He added that this week he would make further alterations to the hopples of this horse. Stewards accepted the comments of Mr Chmiel but issued him with a warning for failing to advise Stewards of the non-activation of this gear at the earliest opportunity.

CLOVER DON backed away as the start was effected and lost its chance. Trainer R Holmes was advised that CLOVER DON must trial satisfactorily from a standing start prior to resuming.
SOL INVICTUS broke briefly after 100 metres.
THE BOG broke racing into the first bend inconveniencing BELLES SON.
JAYCEEKAY and QUALITY INVASION raced keenly during the middle stages.
KING OF STRATHFIELD was briefly held up in the early stages of the run home.
UNCAS trotted roughly in the run home.
 
Race 9 TERROR TO LOVE - MULTIPLE JEWELS WINNER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Permission was granted for REKLAW SUPREME to race in the colours of trainer M Jones.
UNCLE TREVOR broke in the score up and as a result was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
BELMONT FIRE broke just prior to dispatch and lost ground with a warning placed on the mare's barrier record.
STANS DAY, REAL LIFE HERO and SMOKEN ROMAN raced wide in the early stages.
MIGHTY PERUVIAN hung inwards near the 1100 metres.
FRANCO NARTISCAPE hung inwards rounding the final bend.
THE BLACK weakened passing the 400 metres with the trailing HUDSON SULLY being held up.
HUDSON SULLY was again held up in the early stages of the run home. Driver K Cox advised that she did not activate the removable deafeners on the gelding.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of SMOKEN ROMAN, the connections explained the gelding had taken advantage of gaining an economical run throughout in a field that was considerably less performed than what the horse had previously been encountering.
 
Race 10 TERROR TO LOVE - STANDING AT PINELEA FARM 2015 PACE Video  Video 
SOUNDS SWIFT and GREENBURN CREEK locked wheels in the early stages resulting in both runners losing considerable ground.
DUNTALKIN and LITTLE LION MAN broke at the start with LITTLE LION MAN losing its chance and failing to complete the race.
GREENBURN CREEK hung inwards on the final bend.
LITTLE TESS and GREENBURN CREEK were held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the run home.
