ARE YOU READY GIRL, which was improving to lead, raced greenly and then broke near the 1700 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed against this filly's racing manners.
MISSY HIGGINS tired over the final stages.
 
Race 2 H R FISKEN & SONS LTD RACEHORSE MIX HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
Trainers G. and N. Hope were charged a $25.00 Colour Fee for EVERYBODY KNOWS.
EVERYBODY KNOWS, THE CROWN JEWELS, GLORY STRIDE, MOB STAR and MADAM SPRINGFIELD all made mistakes at the start or shortly after with EVERYBODY KNOWS, THE CROWN JEWELS and GLORY STRIDE trailing the field.
MADAM SPRINGFIELD broke near the 450 metres when towards the rear, losing its chance.
THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON broke briefly early in the run home checking WINGS ON FIRE, which also galloped losing its chance.
THIS SKY ROX tended to shift in under pressure near the 200 metres and had to be corrected.
GUNSIGHT PASS was held up late in the run home.

SHE'S SMOOTH paced roughly approaching the 300 metres, losing momentum.

PURE CHRISTIAN and ELISAVETA were held up briefly on the final turn when CLASSY AMBITION commenced to give ground.

EYECATCHER FIRE raced fiercely during the middle stages when towards the rear on the inner and weakened from the 300 metres.
MIGHTY REGAL was held up early on the final turn.
KINGSTON shifted out under pressure near the 100 metres momentarily inconveniencing ART FORM.

A false start was declared when the front barrier failed to clear TORBJORN.
TOMMIRAY broke shortly after the start and then switched to a pace, losing all chance.
ACE MOMENT broke after 200 metres and settled at the rear.
OUR DAINTY LADY was held up leaving the back straight until passing the 400 metres.
Driver S. Abernethy (DRAGON LADY) reported that the removable deafeners had failed to activate after a pin on the release cord broke.

FRANCO NIKAU broke in the initial stages of the score up but was in position prior to despatch. This gelding then tended to over-race during the middle stages when leading.
VIEWFIELD APACHE was caught three wide early after the gelding commenced to race fiercely and was then obliged to race three wide without cover for the remainder before weakening.
MALOO was held up briefly in the middle stages of the run home.
Driver D. Butcher (CHACHINGCHACHING) reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners over the final stages.

ROCK TONIGHT was back a length from the unruly position at despatch.

KING DAVID broke shortly after the start and trailed the field throughout.
