Race 1 COMPLETELY WIRED LTD HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
ZIMPLE broke at the start losing considerable ground.
DIEDRE'S GOLD, GLORY STRIDE and MIGHTY SUNNY broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
DIEDRE'S GOLD then trailed the field and took no part. A warning was placed against this mare's racing manners.
SUNDONNA broke for several strides after 150 metres.
MA CILLE broke racing over the crossing losing considerable ground.
SUNDONNA trotted roughly near the 450 metres when trailing the leader inconveniencing CHILTONS VOCATION and EARLS BULLER GIRL with the latter horse trotting roughly for several strides.
GLORY STRIDE broke passing the 400 metres losing its chance.
MIGHTY SUNNY broke near the 300 metres losing ground.
TUI SPUR broke passing the 250 metres losing its chance.
Driver P Butcher reported that he had been unable to drive THE KEYSTONE KID out over the final stages due to the gelding trotting roughly.
SPECIAL FLIGHT was removed from the unruly for standing starts.
 
Race 2 BRIAN & ANNA CLEMENT RACING STABLE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
OUR WICKLOW broke in the initial stages of the score up and trailed the field throughout. This gelding was placed on the unruly for future mobile events.
PRESENT ARMS raced erratically on the first turn.
MEGATRON pulled hard during the middle stages when at the rear.
ALTA SURREAL was held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
V C DELL broke for a stride with 100 metres to race when contacted by ALTA SURREAL which shifted ground outwards to secure clear running.
Driver N Chilcott (ALTA SURREAL) was charged under Rule 869(4) on the grounds in that she drove in a manner that caused interference to V C DELL near the 100 metres. The JCA upheld the charge and after hearing submissions as to penalty imposed a fine of $200.
 
Race 3 MOLLER JOHNSON LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Driver D Jones (TAFADHALI) was warned for the manner in which he drove approaching the winning post the first time when TAFADHALI broke for a stride after contacting the offside sulky wheel of SOUL MAN. In considering this matter Stewards took into account that SOUL MAN was being eased to allow OHOKA BUD to cross and may have shifted out marginally contributing to the incident.
JC JOCK broke near the 250 metres losing all chance. This gelding was stood down from stake bearing events for 28 days.
P TOMADO broke briefly passing the 150 metres. A final warning was placed against the gelding's racing manners.
OHOKA BUD tired over the final stages.
 
Race 4 BRIAN FLEMING MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A false start was declared after ALTA MARCELLO galloped in the score up interfering with the second line. For the restart ALTA MARCELLO started from the outside of the second row.
A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of ALTA MARCELLO.
ALTA MARCELLO broke approaching the first bend losing several lengths.
BACK THE BLACK broke after becoming unbalanced travelling over the crossing and then settled towards the rear in a three wide position with cover.
WITHOUT PREJUDICE raced erratically after travelling over the crossing.
LIVING BLUE CHIP was held up early in the run home.
ALTA MARCELLO raced roughly rounding the final bend and entering the home straight.
WAR HORSE raced greenly early in the run home.
ATOMIC FALCON broke passing the 50 metres.
BLACK SANTANA and THEGERMANCONNECTION were obliged to race three wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 5 SANDFORD BROS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MEMPHIS MISS raced fiercely entering the first turn and then broke briefly with GENERAL TIM having to take evasive action which placed SECRET WEAPON in restricted room for some strides. MEMPHIS MISS then continued to over-race badly before giving ground over the final stages. A warning was placed against this filly's racing manners.
LADY MARIA paced roughly entering the back straight before being taken three wide approaching the 1200 metres.
GENERAL TIM broke briefly near the 1100 metres and then paced roughly before commencing to give ground. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormality and a warning was placed against the gelding's racing manners.
BETTORS POCKET was badly held up for clear running until inside the 100 metres. Driver T Herlihy reported that he did not activate the deafeners due to being held up.
 
Race 6 PITA PIT HAWERA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainers J & M Teaz were issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 for presenting MACARDO to race without the notified sliding blinds.
NAENAE TABMAN hung in the score up and was well back from position at the start. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
Driver T Macfarlane (THE TRACKER) was questioned regarding the manner in which he drove on the final turn when he briefly dropped his left foot from the sulky footrest. After viewing the replays Mr Macfarlane's explanation that he had been activating the deafeners was accepted on this occasion. THE TRACKER then lay in near the 200 metres and had to be corrected losing some momentum.
 
Race 7 THE LOCAL TAB & SPORTS BAR MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for WESTBURN COURAGE.
RANGI RANGDU paced roughly shortly after the start then broke settling at the rear of the field. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
An investigation was held into an incident passing the 300 metres where MIRO BAY paced roughly when being crossed by RANGI RANGDU, resulting in MIRO BAY locking wheels with STARS STAR, which was badly checked with Driver D Butcher almost being tipped from the sulky. It was established that MIRO BAY had shifted out after contacting RANGI RANGDU's sulky wheel, however blame could not be solely attributed to either horse or driver after it was found that both horses shifted ground with no further action being deemed necessary other than to remind drivers K Marshall (MIRO BAY) and S Phelan (RANGI RANGDU) of their respective obligations in similar circumstances in the future.
WONDER ANVIL was held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.
 
Race 8 CHRISTIAN CULLEN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HADRIAN and CHEQUEME ROSIE were held up over the early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 9 SOUTH TARANAKI CLUB HAWERA CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
The start of this event was held up when BECKINSALE became fractious and was reluctant to face the barrier. This mare was then sent to the outside of the 10 metre mark with a warning being placed against its manners from a stand.
DARCEE, KIPPENBERGER and SHESTHEREALDEAL broke at the start with the latter horse losing considerable ground.
DARCEE was badly held up on the final turn behind the weakening SWEET ART. A post race veterinary examination of SWEET ART revealed that the mare was in season.
 
Race 10 CLEGGS FUNERAL SERVICES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for PHIL'S FOLLY.
A false start was declared when the 10 metre barrier failed to clear JOMO.
COOL SON broke at the start and trailed the field throughout.
OUR SUPER RAM tired from the 1100 metres to finish distanced. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities with a warning being placed against the gelding's racing performance.
THE SCRUFF broke near the 1000 metres losing ground before settling.
RUBY CASTLETON broke passing the 800 metres losing its chance.
PHIL'S FOLLY commenced to tire leaving the back straight.
JOMO broke with 400 metres to race losing its chance.
THE SCRUFF broke inside the 100 metres and failed to settle.
SUNSHIELD underwent a veterinary examination following the event after pulling up distressed with the gelding being found to have tied up, which required treatment from the Veterinarian.

No claims were lodged for MACHIE MACH.
An Information was lodged alleging that Driver S McCaffrey used his whip excessively driving out STYX IT TO EM over the concluding stages. The charge under Rule 869(2)(a) was admitted and the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
