Trainer B Gray advised the Stewards JEN JACCKA was showing signs of tying up following this race and he was sending the filly for a spell prior to resuming racing.

Race 1 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK TROT Video  Video 
The favourite LANDORA'S GIRL broke badly at the start losing all chance.
PURE EMOTION and DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR both broke briefly at the start.
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER broke shortly after the start.
LITTLE MISS broke after approximately 100 metres with NOBLE GAMBLE breaking when attempting to avoid the breaking LITTLE MISS.
ARI GOLD switched into a pace after 150 metres and had to be broken up to return to its correct gait.
SUNNIVUE SADONA broke briefly approaching the 1700 metre mark.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY and SCOTTIE TROUBLE both broke after passing the 800 metre mark.
PURE EMOTION broke when attempting to improve round the outside of the breaking SCOTTIE TROUBLE passing the 800 metres.
 
Race 2 WASHINGTON VC FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A false start was declared when ANNIE FITZ broke in the score up checking MILLWOOD CHARITY on the second line. Driver M Williamson (ANNIE FITZ) elected to go to the outside of the second line for the restart. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of ANNIE FITZ for causing the false start.
Approaching the 1200 metre mark a number of ducks ventured onto the track resulting in the leader ALL THAT GLITTERS shying at them and easing the speed at this stage of the race.
PLAY ACTION hung throughout the race, most noticeably when improving its position three wide near the 1000 metre mark.
With approximately 250 metres to go the leader ALL THAT GLITTERS drifted outwards slightly with SAUCHIEHALL reacting unfavourably and racing wider on the track.
Near the 200 metre mark at the commencement of the passing lane a duck flew in front of the leader ALL THAT GLITTERS (R May). As a result ALL THAT GLITTERS lost its momentum and shifted into the passing lane abruptly. S Golding (MOSSDALE SUE) then elected to shift ground outwards in an attempt to improve its position.
R May then shifted ALL THAT GLITTERS outwards to leave the passing lane clear which resulted in MOSSDALE SUE being dictated outwards onto RINGARINGAROZIE (D White) and CLASSIE REGAL (J Young) with both these runners being hampered passing the 100 metre mark. Due to driver R May taking corrective action to straighten his drive and leave the passing lane clear for trailing runners no further action was required.
Following this race authorisation of all placings was withheld until Driver D White (RINGARINGAROZIE) had viewed video footage of the home straight. After viewing the footage Driver D White elected not to proceed with a Protest and all placings were duly authorised.
Club management was advised of the incident at the straight entrance and requested to take remedial action in relation to the ducks which had ventured onto the race track to avoid a repetition.
When questioned regarding the performance of the favourite GLITZY GAL Driver D Dunn advised he was not disappointed with the filly's first up effort as she had hung rounding the final bend and had fought on well over the concluding stages.
 
Race 3 PRYDES EASIFEED MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BILLY KLONDIKE broke in the score up and ran outwards to the outside fence and took no serious part in the running. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners.
LIVE TO TELL hung inwards on the first bend while leading dislodging a pylon.
At the 1800 metre mark EILEAN SHONA (K Grant) shifted ground inwards when insufficiently clear of TIGER MINX (J Dunn) causing TIGER MINX to break briefly.
AMOUNIS raced keenly when leading through the early stages.
TIGER MINX which was caught three wide without cover during the middle stages made the bend near the 500 metre mark awkwardly and tired from that point on.
TENACIOUS BROMAC also gave ground from this point of the race. Trainer C Dalgety will be spoken to regarding the performance of the colt.
KILKENNY TURK (J Cox) was unable to gain racing room throughout the run home and had to be steadied near the 70 metre mark when attempting to improve its position.
K Grant (EILEAN SHONA) in the presence of senior horseman R May was warned pursuant to Rule 869(3)(b) for the manner she drove when shifting ground inwards near the 1800 metre mark.
J Dunn (TIGER MINX) was spoken to advisedly regarding his conduct while on the race track.
When questioned regarding the performance of favourite FORMULA ONE trainer B Negus advised although he was initially disappointed, FORMULA ONE sat parked for the majority of the race and driver N Williamson advised it had not reacted favourably when he activated the sliding blinds. He further added FORMULA ONE had not eaten up following the race and he would be having blood tests taken in the upcoming week and will advise the Stewards of the findings. He also advised he would be making gear alterations for FORMULA ONE's upcoming start.
 
Race 4 G J GARDNER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HIGHLAND REIGN which was caught three wide without cover through the early stages was restrained to the back of the field.
CAESAR ROCKS which was improving three wide near the 1300 metre mark briefly raced four wide when CHIEF KAPAI improved in front of it. Stewards reviewed video replays of this incident and were satisfied that CHIEF KAPAI (K Cox) had shifted ground prior to CAESAR ROCKS reaching the sulky wheel of CHIEF KAPAI with no further action required.
AVEROSS RUSTLER raced fiercely through the middle stages when racing in the parked position.
CAESAR ROCKS commenced to give ground from the 600 metre mark with Stewards requesting a veterinary examination of CAESAR ROCKS. The examination revealed no abnormalities.
CHANGE THE RULZ and PERCIUS were unable to obtain clear racing room rounding the final bend.
 
Race 5 DUNEDIN CITY FORD JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Shortly after the start the carrier strap on BEST OF THE BUNCH broke resulting in BEST OF THE BUNCH breaking. As a result the trailing DIGITAL ART had to be severely restrained and broke with both these runners losing all chance. BEST OF THE BUNCH was subsequently retired from the race.
After approximately 150 metres JOEY MAGUIRE (M Purvis) which was racing keenly and was being restrained broke after BETTY GOLIGHTLY which it was following was being steadied. As a result MATCH POINT was inconvenienced.
RONNOCO had to be steadied approaching the 1800 metre mark when attempting to improve around the breaking BEST OF THE BUNCH.
Near the 1200 metre mark NUI TOC TIEN was reluctant to shift outwards when Driver S Golding attempted to improve three wide. As a result MATCH POINT (M Anderson) briefly raced wider on the track. When questioned regarding this incident M Anderson advised the Stewards that he believed that NUI TOC TIEN had already shifted ground outwards when he reached the sulky wheel of NUI TOC TIEN.
Passing the 750 metre mark JOEY MAGUIRE paced roughly when attempting to improve three wide.
LIVY FRANCO which was racing keenly was unable to gain racing room when rounding the final bend and broke near the 250 metre mark when shifting ground outwards in an attempt to improve its position. LIVY FRANCO then raced in restricted room over the concluding stages with Driver R McIlwrick advising he did not activate the removable deafeners. R McIlwrick in the presence of N Williamson was warned for the manner he shifted ground near the 250 metre mark.
MOONDYNE JOE broke after shifting into the passing lane near the 200 metre mark.
BETTY GOLIGHTLY was held up through the middle stages of the run home.
Junior horseman T Quate (RONNOCO) was shown the replays of the final stages and advised to change his whip action.
Following this race AL'S COURAGE suffered a colic attack and was treated by the veterinarian.
 
Race 6 NEVELE R 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES SERIES (HEAT 6) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MARITIME ARDEN was back off the gate at the start.
LINDA LOVEGRACE paced roughly racing into the first bend.
ART EXHIBIT was held up rounding the final bend.
LINDA LOVEGRACE paced roughly throughout the home straight and broke near the 30 metre mark. Due to LINDA LOVEGRACE not breaking in excess of 50 metres or being lapped on fifth placing was authorised with no further action required.
 
Race 7 SPEIGHTS PACE Video  Video 
O'GARA was a late scratching at 1.17pm on veterinary advice.
ALTAR EGO shied at the tapes and shifted outwards then broke checking KILMORICH on the second line. The connections of ALTAR EGO advised it was their intention to revert back to mobile starts in the future.
SET ME ABLAZE, BORN TO DELIGHT and THREE WAYS all broke over the early stages.
NEWMANS JET and HEZABLUECHIPBOY were both impeded over the early stages by breaking runners.
Racing into the first bend EXPRESSIVE VICTOR which was racing outside the leader hung outwards and run off on the bend then broke before settling beyond midfield on the outer.
ALTAR EGO broke free of interference near the 1700 metre mark with a warning placed on the gelding's racing manners.
EXPRESSIVE VICTOR raced greenly when improving its position three wide passing the 1000 metre mark.
HEZABLUECHIPBOY failed to gain racing room rounding the final bend.
Just short of the winning post ZENA MAC (B Orange) shifted inwards slightly simultaneously as HEZ ONLY THE LONELY (R May) shifted outwards marginally resulting in THREE WAYS and EXPRESSIVE VICTOR having to be restrained.
 
Race 8 RICOH DUNEDIN 4 & 5YO CHAMPIONSHIP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
ONEDIN MACH broke at the start.
MOSSDALE CONNER raced greenly when attempting to improve to the lead near the 2200 metre mark.
THE WRATH OF ROBYN and VENUS SERENA both had to be steadied when there was an easing of the one out line passing the 1400 metre mark.
QUICK AS A TRICK raced keenly through the middle stages of the race placing Driver N Williamson in difficulty.
ONEDIN MACH hung and paced roughly for several strides when being angled outwards near the 800 metre mark.
HIGHVIEW ANWELL gave ground over the final 500 metres.
When questioned regarding the performance of VENUS SERENA Driver J Dunn advised that VENUS SERENA had been flat throughout the race due to the quick tempo of the race. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination which failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
Race 9 STUNIN CULLEN/PINELEA FARM HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
GIVE ME THE NIGHT stood on the mark when the tapes were released losing several lengths.
LUCKY LANDS backed away just prior to the tapes being released then broke over the early stages.
REKLAW SUPREME and MIDNIGHT WARRIOR also broke at the start losing ground.
INDIAN ARROW tangled at the start.
GIVE ME THE NIGHT hung inwards when improving three wide near the 1200 metre mark.
LUCKY LANDS raced three wide without cover over the final lap before giving ground from the 600 metre mark.
VERA'S DELIGHT was held up through the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 10 KEEP IT CLEAN HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
SIN BIN trotted roughly over the early stages then hung on the first bend and broke near the 2300 metre mark.
ILLUSTRIOUS QUEEN was caught three wide without cover over the initial 1100 metres of the race before reaching the parked position near the 1600 metres.
BEYOND A JOKE hung inwards and struck pylons near the 1800 metre mark.
SIN BIN broke again with 850 metres to run with trainer/driver N Williamson advising he would be making gear alterations prior to its next start.
LIMA LAD broke when racing in the parked position near the 600 metre mark.
CITY COURAGE broke with 450 metres to run.
CONTINENTAL BOY broke briefly passing the 400 metre mark.
MUM BEAT LYALL broke over the concluding stages.
The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of NOTRE DAME after its disappointing performance which revealed NOTRE DAME to have a slow recovery with a veterinary clearance required prior to the gelding resuming racing.
BEYOND A JOKE was removed from the unruly for future standing starts at the request of trainer C Buchan.
SIN BIN was placed on the unruly for future stands at the request of trainer N Williamson.
Junior horseman R Close (MALDARNA) was questioned by the Stewards as to why he allowed BONO HEST (D Dunn) to improve into the trail near the 2100 metre mark. Mr. Close advised MALDARNA was not trailing up behind the leader SPACE ACE and had trotted roughly for a few strides. He further added rather than push MALDARNA to maintain the trail and risk breaking he elected to allow MALDARNA to find its feet and settle in third placing. After hearing from Mr. Close the Stewards were satisfied with his explanation and no further action was required.
 
Race 11 JUST ESSENCE CATERING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
After challenging BEYOND BELIEF(D White) for the lead near the 1600 metre mark Driver D Dunn restrained SAGE and attempted to shift ground inwards into the trailing position but was unsuccessful. SAGE and the leader BEYOND BELIEF then both commenced to race keenly.
VISCOUNTESS began to tire from the 800 metre mark resulting in the trailing ROCK TILL YOU DROP, PENNYANA and LOOSE CANNON all being held up at this stage of the race. VISCOUNTESS was then taken to the inside of the markers to avoid the trailing horses then broke. Driver S Walkinshaw advised the Stewards that bloods were taken from VISCOUNTESS in the lead up to tonight's race which returned a clear result and he was disappointed with the filly's performance. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of VISCOUNTESS, however the on course veterinarian was attending to another horse with a bout of colic and VISCOUNTESS had left the course when the veterinarian was available. The Stewards will follow up with trainer H Hunter in the upcoming days.
CHAMPAGNE DREAMS broke with approximately 750 metres to run.
BEYOND BELIEF commenced to give ground from the 400 metre mark with ROCK TILL YOU DROP and PENNYANA being held up rounding the final bend by the tiring BEYOND BELIEF.
The Stewards opened and adjourned an enquiry regarding the tactics adapted by drivers D White (BEYOND BELIEF) and D Dunn (SAGE) during the race.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of CHANTREY trainer B Negus advised the Stewards that CHANTREY had received unsuitable runs in its previous starts and had received a suitable trip this evening and he was not surprised with the forward showing.
