Race 1 DAWSON HARFORD & PARTNERS TROT Video  Video 
LITTLE MISS ZIGZAG broke briefly at the start.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON broke at the start losing considerable ground before galloping again on several occasions when trailing the field. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
SCARRYMCLEARY broke at the start and then switched to a pace losing all chance. SCARRYMCLEARY was stood down from standing start stake bearing events for 14 days.
GLORY STRIDE broke entering the first turn losing considerable ground.
WINGS ON FIRE contacted several track markers near the 150 metres when racing to the inside of FIRST VINTAGE and THIS SKY ROX which both shifted inwards marginally.
THE ALMIGHTY JOHNSON trotted roughly over the final stages and was unable to be driven out.
FIRST VINTAGE underwent a veterinary examination following this event. The gelding was found to have swelling to its left knee which required treatment from the Veterinarian.

ALOTBETTOR pulled hard during the middle stages when towards the rear.
CAN'T EXPLAIN IT, which improved to race outside the leader near the 1000 metres, weakened over the final stages. A subsequent Veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was displaying a poor recovery. Connections advised that further Veterinary tests would be undertaken and that Stewards would be advised accordingly should anything surface.
Driver J Abernethy (FIERY LUSTRE) was charged under Rule 869(2)(a) on the grounds that he used his whip excessively over the final stages. The JCA upheld the charge and suspended Mr Abernethy's drivers licence from the completion of racing on the 29th March up to and including the 4th April and also imposed a fine of $300.

PYRAMID MONARCH was a late scratching at 8.30am on Veterinary advice.
Co-Trainers J and J Dickie were issued with a $100 minor infringement notice under Rule 865(2) after PARAMOUNT DREAM was presented without the notified blinds.
PARAMOUNT DREAM broke at the start and trailed the field throughout.
MOB STAR broke at the start and settled at the rear.
 
Race 4 MAGNESS BENROW SIRES STAKES FILLIES SERIES(HT 2) MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
POPPY MAGUIRE was a length out of position at the start despite the efforts of Driver T Herlihy.
KILLER QUEEN was inclined to lay in on the bends.
KILLER QUEEN momentarily moved marginally into the passing lane when leading the field for the run home.
IDEAL EAGLE was held up over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5 AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS 300-3000 HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
The start of this event was delayed due to LUCKY FORTUNE breaking a boring pole after having become fractious when being called into line. Approval was given for the gelding to race without a replacement pole.
REGAL PETITE broke for several strides at the start.
EYRE I COME began badly and trailed the field throughout.
SUNSHIELD broke briefly shortly after the start.
LUCKY FORTUNE hung in passing the 1500 metres and then broke and was taken down inside the marker line to avoid trailing runners before settling at the rear.
REGAL PETITE hung in on the final turn and dislodged several track markers.
SIR GEORGE GREY hung in under pressure on the final turn. Driver D Butcher reported that he had not activated the deafener hood over the final stages due to being out of contention.
 
Race 6 THE HUAPAI TAVERN KUMEU STAKES HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
SNOOKI was a late scratching at 5.15pm on Veterinary advice.
BEYOND THE SILENCE, IDEAL BELLE and WESLEY SILCOX broke briefly at the start.
IDEAL BELLE (favourite), improved to lead near the 1200 metres but commenced to give ground quickly passing the 400 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormality. Trainer B Purdon was unable to offer any explanation as the mare had worked well leading into tonight's event and connections expected a strong showing. Mr Purdon advised that he would have further veterinary tests carried out and would advise should anything surface.
Driver M McKendry (WESLEY SILCOX) was warned for dropping his left foot from the sulky foot rest on several occasions in the run home.
 
Race 7 DUNSTAN HORSE FEEDS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
CYCLONE KATE was badly held up when unable to secure clear running over the final stages.
An investigation was held into an incident near the 1100 metres where CYCLONE KATE raced four wide after LIBERTY STYX shifted out from the one out running line. It was established that LIBERTY STYX had commenced its outward movement prior to CYCLONE KATE covering its sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
LOVE IS A DRUG was held up early in the run home.
 
Race 8 SPANNERS & PIPES NIGHT 10TH APRIL $75+GST MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
KINGSTON hung outwards late in the score up and contacted the sulky of DUKE OF ALBANY before breaking and settling at the rear. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier manners of KINGSTON.
DUKE OF ALBANY broke approaching the 1900 metres and settled at the rear. A warning was placed against the gelding's racing manners.
KINGSTON broke briefly passing the 1800 metres when being eased as DUKE OF ALBANY shifted down to take up a position closer to the marker line. KINGSTON then paced roughly near the 700 metres when being restrained off the back of BARABBAS.
DUKE OF ALBANY gave ground over the final stages.
 
Race 9 AUTUMN TROTTING CARNIVAL 17TH & 24TH APRIL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DESLUNA broke passing the 1900 metres and settled towards the rear before breaking again near the 300 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on this filly's racing manners.
IDEAL QUEST (favourite) led up but gave ground from the 300 metres to finish at the rear. A subsequent Veterinary examination revealed no clinical abnormalities.
