PAT'S SUCCESS reared just prior to the start.
KATIE DAWN and PLAYBOY'S BROTHER broke as the start was effected.
ARI GOLD broke at the start and again nearing the 1300 metres. Trainer W McEwan requested his gelding be placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
CICADA JENERIK broke negotiating the first bend.
CELESTE FRANCO broke nearing the 350 metres.
KATIES INVASION was held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
SUNNIVUE SADONA was removed from the unruly for its future standing starts at the request of trainer S Ashton

JUSTA DALE was back at the start on the second line.
ELI LOWE broke just prior to the course crossing.
MAN I'M GOOD raced wide in the early stages and paced roughly when passing the course crossing.
MOUSEY JAY and BILLY KLONDIKE tired rounding the final bend.
MILLWOOD CHARITY was held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
BILLY KLONDIKE was removed from the unruly for its upcoming mobile starts at the request of trainer N Bishop.
 
Race 3 STUNIN CULLEN/PINELEA FARM MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
VEDIKA broke free of interference prior to the course crossing effectively losing its chance.
BHAPPY (R Jenkins) paced roughly racing into the first bend when being challenged for the lead by HERE COMES FALCON (D Johnston) which continued this challenge over the initial 600 metres. HERE COMES FALCON was then engaged to challenge BHAPPY for the lead again from the 1400 metres eventually acquiring that position nearing the 900 metres. HERE COMES FALCON underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a normal recovery rate after tiring late in the run home.
BHAPPY commenced to tire from the 600 metres impeding the progress of SAGE, MIDNIGHT WARRIOR and JOHAN'S JET finishing a distance from the winner. Stewards will follow up the recovery of BHAPPY in the coming days.
Stewards spoke with drivers R Jenkins (BHAPPY) and D Johnston (HERE COMES FALCON) regarding the tactics they adopted during this race. After hearing the explanations from both drivers Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration.

FILIGREE SHEREE broke at the start.
MIRI tangled briefly as the start was effected.
ILLUSTRIOUS QUEEN broke after 150 metres.
THE SWEEDISH FILLY and MUM BEAT LYALL broke entering the first bend.
GLENDALOCH made the course crossing awkwardly. Stewards will speak to horseman S McNally in the coming days regarding his handling of this gelding.
SUNNY MONEY broke near the 400 metres.
LIMA LAD broke near the 200 metres.
MALDARNA was held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
Horseman D Dunn advised that YGRITTE had over-raced when challenged through the middle stages with this taking its toll on the filly over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5 HAIR CO. HAIRDRESSING MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer N Bishop was fined the sum of $100 for failing to present HUDSON SULLY to race with the correct gear.
Trainers D Taylor (LILAC DESIRE) and A Stuart (SAILING ON) (represented by S McNally and Miss K Butt respectively) were fined $100.00 for presenting their runners late onto the track.
HUDSON SULLY raced wide through the early stages.
BEST OF THE BUNCH was held up for clear racing room through the early and middle stages of the run home.
FRANCO CALIPH after receiving an economical trip throughout failed to run on and finished a distance from the winner. Driver R McIlwrick expressed disappointment with the geldings effort with co-trainer G Knight advising it had recovered well post race. Mr McIlwrick (assisted by senior horseman M Williamson) was then spoken to regarding his continuation of whip use on FRANCO CALIPH over the concluding stages when the gelding was failing to remain competitive in the event. After hearing Mr McIlwrick's explanation he was issued with, and admitted to, a charge under Rule 865(2)(a) in that his whip use was unnecessary with the J.C.A imposing a fine of $175.00.

BALAGIO displayed poor barrier manners and broke as the start was effected.
SHARD DIEGO shifted outwards at the start onto JACLYN SMITH.
FOUR SOCKS broke at the start and shifted inwards onto HEZ ONLY THE LONELY.
MAHINERANGI ROAD broke at the start losing ground.
ALTAR EGO broke prior to the course crossing.
PESCADO had a warning placed on its racing record after it broke at the 500 metres.
TARANTO broke nearing the 500 metres.
JACLYN SMITH was held up over the initial stages of the run home and was inclined to lay inwards over the concluding stages.
NEWMANS JET was held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 7 OTAGO PLASTERING & TILING SOLUTIONS HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
FASTROUNDTOWN, OPTING OPTIONS, VEGA SICILIA, LUCKY LANDS, PEGASUS KOMMANDER and PENNYANA all broke for various distances at the start.
LANGHAM GOLD commenced to tire from the 400 metres.
JENNALEE attempted to lead throughout however gave ground late in the run home.
