Race 1 BECOME A SPONSOR AT ALEXANDRA PARK TROT Video  Video 
MAJESTIC ONE was slow to begin and trotted unevenly throughout the event.
PARAMOUNT DREAM was slow to step away.
WINSOME LUCK broke at the start and settled at the rear.
LA MAITRE DIX broke briefly entering the first turn.
WINSOME LUCK weakened quickly inside the last 400 metres.
GOTTA GO TWINKLE laid in on straightening for the run home when being shifted wider on the track.
Driver S. Abernethy (MAJESTIC ONE) reported that he elected not to activate the deafener hood due to trotting roughly over the concluding stages.

IN FULL FLIGHT paced roughly in the early stages of the score up.
BETTORS POCKET paced roughly near the 600 metres, losing a length.
SKY ART raced erratically passing the 200 metres.
Driver S. Abernethy (BLUE ALLAN) was questioned regarding an incident inside the 300 metres where BLUE ALLAN came back on to IN FULL FLIGHT, which was checked with resultant interference to KINGSTON, which was forced over pylons before galloping and losing all chance. Mr Abernethy stated that BLUE ALLAN had over-reacted when eased as SKY ART improved to his inside. Driver Z. Butcher (SKY ART) was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which he shifted ground in this incident.

JASINSKY broke briefly near the 1700 metres when at the rear.
KAWARAU SPUR which led up, gave ground over the final stages.

BONECHIP broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
MOMENT OF TRUTH, which was trailing the leader, broke approaching the 300 metres but soon settled before laying in badly contacting pylons.

SNOOKI shifted out shortly after the start and was slow to begin.
CHANGE TIME broke shortly after the start checking RIVER POLKA for several strides before settling at the rear.
FIRST HOME paced unevenly during the running.
BETTOR SPIRITS was held up for clear running until near the 50 metres.
A Minor Infringement Notice was issued and a $100 fine imposed on Trainer B. Purdon under Rule 864(2)(d) due to a bandage padding coming adrift on the off hind leg of IDEAL BELLE during the running.

SPRINGFIELD LEGACY broke at the start losing all chance.
STAR MONARCH broke passing the 900 metres when at the rear losing all chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery with the early signs of a respiratory infection.

SHEDONTLOVEME broke at the start losing several lengths before settling. A warning was placed on this colt's mobile barrier manners record.
I AM THE ONE weakened quickly inside the 500 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed early signs of a respiratory infection.
An investigation was held into a check received by the 4th placed PRINCE OF POPS (S. Phelan) just short of the finishing line. It was found that PRINCE OF POPS was tightened for racing room in between LITTLE RASCAL (J. Stormont), which lugged outward when under pressure, and CHANGE STRIDE (A. Herlihy) which had shifted ground inward under pressure. No one horseman was found to be at fault.

SWEETIE, TEMPORALE and ROYAL WILLIE all made mistakes over the initial stages, with TEMPORALE breaking again rounding the first bend. All runners complied with the Breaking Horses Regulations.
SWEETIE underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a small laceration on the off fore cannon which required treatment by the veterinarian.
