Race Comments
Race 1 HONDA CARS MOBILE TROT Video  Video
STAR PRIDE trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at dispatch. This filly continued to trot roughly throughout eventually breaking near the 150 metres.
DARK OPS broke as the start was effected and continued in a break for a considerable distance.
THE FOX broke after 150 metres and was then inclined to lay in throughout the run home.
WILMA'S MATE broke after 150 metres losing significant ground. Horseman D Butt was questioned regarding his apparent lack of vigour over the concluding stages. Mr Butt advised that after settling from its early break the filly had trotted roughly and had almost broken on several occasions during the running. Mr Butt further added that he was of the opinion that had he driven WILMA'S MATE out with any more vigour, the filly would have broken and lost its chance. Mr Butt's comments were noted.
Authorisation of 3rd place being awarded to WILMA'S MATE was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that this filly had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when in a break over the early stages.

Race 2 NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES (HEAT 4) MOBILE PACE Video  Video
MIGHTY EMPIRE was slightly out of position at dispatch.
BIRD OF PARADISE was a length out of position at dispatch with Junior Horseman M Anderson cautioned to maintain his mobile barrier position up until point of dispatch. NIKITA MAGUIRE raced wide through the early stages.
CHANGEOVER A FLYIN was awkwardly placed to the wheel of KATY PERRY when nearing the 1100 metres. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race when IT'S ALL OVER NOW (S Ottley) was obliged to race wider on the track on the outside of KATY PERRY (D Dunn). After viewing the available films it was established that KATY PERRY was already wider on the track prior to IT'S ALL OVER NOW reaching its wheel. No further action was warranted other than to caution Mr Dunn to be more decisive when shifting ground in future.

FRANCO HARRISON then caught its outside front leg in the back of the sulky of WINSTONE P and was dragged for some distance.
