Trainer R Wilson has previously notified the Stewards that he was reluctant to start MY GUY MAC at the Gore track after the gelding become fractious in the lead up to its previous race there back on the 11th of October 2014. Mr Wilson contacted Stewards to advise he now wished to try MY GUY MAC at the Gore track again after he had made gear changes, the gelding had matured somewhat recently and was racing well.

Race 1 HOKONUI HONDA HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
SUNDON INVASION stood flatfooted as the tapes were released and was slow to begin.
SNOOP DOG broke shortly after the start and again during the running losing all chance.
After approximately 150 metres BILLY B broke with the gelding breaking again near the 1400 metres.
IDLE EYRE was slow away over the early stages.
ONE COOL CHICK (R Swain) raced four wide without cover from near the 1100 metres before reaching the three wide position with 850 metres to run.
IDLE EYRE trotted roughly then broke with 200 metres to run when improving its position wide on the track.
When questioned regarding the performance of favoured runner ONE COOL CHICK driver R Swain advised that the mare had only battled over the final stages after being caught wide through the final 1100 metres.
The Stewards questioned driver R Swain regarding when ONE COOL CHICK raced wider on the track near the 1100 metres. Mr Swain advised that FILIGREE SHEREE (K Barclay) had already shifted outwards prior to him reaching its wheel, however he elected to press forward rather than take a hold of ONE COOL CHICK due to the momentum he had.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of MR MAJESTIC trainer A Malcolmson advised the Stewards that he had added a chin rest to the gear after its race at Forbury on Thursday evening which had assisted MR MAJESTIC's performance.
 
Race 2 TOTAL BODY FITNESS/THE SANCTUARY PACE Video  Video 
PEGASUS KOMMANDER tangled briefly at the start.
ROSIES ILLUSION and TIGHT LIPPED broke through the early stages with ROSIES ILLUSION continuing to pace roughly throughout the race.
After approximately 300 metres LADY VC broke when racing at the back of the field.
The removable deafeners on FOUR SOCKS became entangled after being activated through the early stages.
FOUR SOCKS commenced to tire from the 950 metres with driver A Milne advising he received a punctured sulky tyre when commencing to give ground.
The favourite ROSIES ILLUSION also gave ground from the 600 metres.
When questioned regarding the performance of ROSIES ILLUSION trainer/driver N Williamson advised that the filly was unbalanced throughout the race, paced roughly and he did not believe she had handled the grass track conditions. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of ROSIES ILLUSION which revealed no abnormalities.
TARANTO hung inwards and was reluctant to shift ground outwards when being angled out for a run passing the 200 metres with TARANTO then hanging inwards while being driven out over the concluding stages.
WAYWARD ROC lay outwards over the concluding stages.
A Beck (SPINYBACK) was warned for dropping his foot from the sulky in the home straight.
C Ferguson (WAYWARD ROC) was shown a replay of when he shifted ground outwards when improving off the back of the tiring FOUR SOCKS and advised to exercise care in similar circumstances.
 
Race 3 CONGRATULATIONS CARL & NICKI HANNA HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
TESSA'S ROCKET broke at the start and again when negotiating the crossing with 1500 metres to run.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY broke after approximately 100 metres. RUBY'S JEWEL broke shortly afterwards.
RUBY'S JEWEL hung outwards rounding the southern bend near the 2000 metres.
After reaching the lead near the 1200 metres RUBY'S JEWEL hung outwards and raced wide on the track down the back straight on the final occasion.
CICADA JENERIK broke after shifting to the parked position near the 1800 metres with CICADA JENERIK breaking again at the 1500 metres.
The Stewards questioned Junior Horseman R McIlwrick as to why he elected not to activate the removable deafeners on CHEEKY PAT over the final stages. Mr McIlwrick advised that after activating the sliding blinds he was driving his horse out fully to the finish line. He felt if he had activated the deafeners he would have had to stop driving CHEEKY PAT out and he would have lost his momentum. He further advised when he won on CHEEKY PAT in an earlier start he had not activated the deafeners. After hearing from Mr McIlwrick the Stewards were satisfied with his explanation with no further action required.
 
Race 4 QUALITY COVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Just after the start RAINBOW ROMANCE broke checking IN THE KITTY on the second line which had to be sharply restrained. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of RAINBOW ROMANCE.
OPTING OPTIONS failed to gain racing room round the final bend and throughout the run home.
POPULAR (C Ferguson) attempted to shift ground near the 200 metres to the inside of LUCKY LANDS (C Barron) in an attempt to gain racing room, however was unsuccessful with POPULAR being unable to gain racing room throughout the remainder of the run home.
Junior Horseman R McIlwrick (JACCKA MARA) advised he did not activate the removable deafeners after being unable to gain racing room over the concluding stages.
 
Race 5 KEEP IT CLEAN LTD/FYFE CONSTRUCTION HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
LARCH was slow to begin from the front line unruly position.
GOLDEN GATE was slow to begin from the 20 metre unruly position.
MOA BONES broke at the start.
After 150 meters the favourite SPLASH COLA broke.
HOPE AND PRAY and LARCH both broke at the crossing with 1500 metres to run.
MOKOSUN, GLENDALOCH and GEE UP NEDDY were all inconvenienced by the breaking runners passing the crossing.
FRENCH DESIRE commenced to give ground from the 700 metres.
Passing the 400 metres SPLASH COLA ( N Williamson) made contact with HOPE AND PRAY (C Ferguson) on its inside and shortly afterwards locked wheels with MIRI (D O'Connell) which was racing on its outside. As a result the tyre and tube came adrift from the outside wheel of SPLASH COLA.
GEE UP NEDDY trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
GLENDALOCH and GEE UP NEDDY both lay outwards throughout the run home.
The Stewards questioned drivers N Williamson (SPLASH COLA), D O'Connell (MIRI) and C Ferguson (HOPE AND PRAY) in relation to the incident when SPLASH COLA locked wheels with MIRI near the 400 metres. Mr Williamson advised he was placed in tight quarters after he had improved between MIRI and HOPE AND PRAY. Junior Horseman C Ferguson advised he had already shifted ground outwards when SPLASH COLA had improved to his outside and that when contact was made with SPLASH COLA the pressure had come from the outside. Driver D O'Connell advised he had initially been four wide on the track but had shifted ground inwards when racing room had been presented by the tiring CONTINENTAL BOY and he believed he was clear of SPLASH COLA when shifting ground. After viewing the replays of the incident which were inconclusive Stewards issued driver D O'Connell with a warning pursuant to Rule 869((3)(b) to ensure he was clear when shifting ground in future circumstances.
 
Race 6 KNIGHT RACING STABLES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
RICO GOLD raced keenly when challenged for the lead by MISS MATTJESTY over the early stages.
MISS MATTJESTY (C Barron) attempted to shift inwards into the trail behind the leader RICO GOLD near the winning post on the first occasion however was unable to after NOVA TIME (S McNally) improved on his inside.
ALBA GIRL failed to maintain contact with the leading three horses for the majority of the race with driver R Rogers advising that the mare was under pressure throughout the race and was unable to improve its position. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of ALBA GIRL which revealed no abnormalities.
GOTTA CALL HIM MIST was denied clear racing room from the 450 metres until the final 200 metres of the race.
MY MATE OZZ was briefly held up on the final bend by the tiring REAL SOUTH.
JOHAN'S JET was held up rounding the final bend and became awkwardly placed between NOVA TIME and MISS MATTJESTY just prior to the home straight.
Passing the 200 metres MAHINERANGI ROAD and NOVA TIME raced greenly and briefly made contact.
 
Race 7 VAN DE WATER JEWELLERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer B Gray (FOR THE GOODTIMES) was charged a $25 colour fee.
RAKARATA lost a front shoe in the preliminary and had the other front shoe removed prior to the start.
ROBYN'S BAD BOY raced greenly through the early stages.
After approximately 100 metres FRANCO TYSON (B McLellan) was restrained then broke when SMITHY (S McNally) hung outwards momentarily with ROBYN'S BAD BOY (C Ferguson) being checked when avoiding FRANCO TYSON. ONEDIN ONYX also had to take evasive action over the early stages when FRANCO TYSON broke. When questioned regarding this incident S McNally advised there was no contact made with FRANCO TYSON. B McLellan advised the Stewards although racing in tight quarters he confirmed no contact had been made and believed FRANCO TYSON should not have broken in the circumstances. After hearing from the respective horsemen and considering their explanations no further action was required.
RATTLING THUNDER paced roughly over the early stages of the race.
FRANCO TYSON and TWITTER BROMAC both vied for a position behind ANOTHER WINDERMERE through the early stages.
ONEDIN ONYX raced keenly through the middle stages.
ROBYN'S BAD BOY raced keenly on several occasions over the final 1000 metres of the race with driver C Ferguson advising he had difficulty steering the gelding.
FOR THE GOODTIMES (B Barclay), STATHAM (N Williamson), MACHJAGGER (J Cox), ONEDIN ONYX (M Williamson) and VISCOUNTESS (S Walkinshaw) were all unable to find clear racing room rounding the final bend and for the majority of the run home. The drivers of all these horses with the exception of S Walkinshaw advised they did not activate their removable deafeners.
With approximately 300 metres to run STATHAM paced roughly briefly when racing in tight quarters on the inside of TWITTER BROMAC.
ROBYN'S BAD BOY was also unable to find clear racing room in the final straight.
With approximately 200 metres to run FRANCO TYSON had to be steadied when tightened for racing room when racing between NIGHTMARCH and RAKARATA.
S McNally also advised he also did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner SMITHY.
 
Race 8 MCDOWALL PAINTING & DECORATING GORE GRASS CUP (HCP PACE) Video  Video 
DELIGHTFUL DASH broke at the start inconveniencing DEVIL MAY CARE.
SELL A BIT after being caught parked without cover through the early stages eased to the back of the field to obtain cover.
MY GUY MAC raced keenly through the middle stages of the race with MY GUY MAC also being held up rounding the final bend.
STAR BLACK which was in the trail made the final bend awkwardly.
MILLIGAN briefly lost its momentum when shifting ground inwards to obtain clear racing room near the 150 metres.
STAR BLACK was steadied over the concluding stages when racing in tight quarters.
 
Race 9 ROBYN'S TREASURE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SANTANNA MAGIC was caught three wide without cover before improving to the parked position passing the 1200 metres.
STRATEGIC MISS made the crossing awkwardly near the 1500 metre mark and paced roughly for a few strides.
HERETIC FRANCO and SMART CAESAR were both held up rounding the final bend and raced in restricted room in the run home.
 
Race 10 LOVERIDGE HOMEKILL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
HOT CHILLI paced roughly through the early stages.
RIGHTAROUND and BLOW A CLOUD both made the crossing awkwardly.
MALOUDA commenced to give ground passing the 600 metres with ONE BAD DREAM briefly being held up.
RIGHTAROUND paced roughly passing the 550 metres.
Driver R Swain advised the Stewards that MALOUDA had been striking a knee which had resulted in its disappointing performance.
ONE BAD DREAM had to shift ground near the 150 metres to obtain clear racing room.
Drive C Barron (FLIGHT DECK) dropped his foot from the sulky just prior to the home straight. Mr Barron advised that he had become unbalanced in the sulky at this stage of the race and it has accidentally slipped out of the footrest and he was not aware it was down for as long as it was. After taking into consideration Mr. Barron's explanation no further action was required other than a warning to ensure in future he places his foot back in the footrest immediately.
APPLAUSE (B Barclay) shifted inwards and ONE BAD DREAM (C Ferguson) shifted outwards over the final stages with these runners both making contact approximately 20 metres from the winning post. After viewing the replays the Stewards were satisfied no further action was required.
Trainer P Ellis will be spoken to in relation to the performance of favoured runner JUSTAN'S SISTER which tired over the latter stages of the race.
 
Race 11 AWARDS COMMITTEE 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
TICKS BABE made the crossing awkwardly near the 1500 metres and paced roughly for a few strides.
DANCING DIXIE lay out when being driven out over the concluding stages.
