Race 1 MEMBER'S MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BILLY THE BAD refused to leave the pre-race formation and was 200 metres in arrears when the start was effected. Trainer J Abernethy was advised that the gelding would be given a final warning in relation to its racing manners. Mr Abernethy advised that he would be making gear changes for the second day.
LOCAL YOKEL, which had shown early gate speed to lead, raced wide around the first turn and then again approaching the 800 metres.
Driver G Martin (MALDINI) reported that the sliding blinds had failed to activate despite his efforts due to the cord becoming entangled in the harness.
Co-Trainers P & M O'Brien (CHERRY EVANS) were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after a hopple middle carrier came adrift during the running.
 
Race 2 WEATHERMASTER PALMERSTON NORTH MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
GOLDEN BILLION over-raced in the score up and was back a length at dispatch. This gelding was placed on the unruly for future mobiles at the connections request.
WASHINGTON DIVA and BAD JACK broke at the start with WASHINGTON DIVA failing to settle and was pulled up. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners record of both of these runners.
ATOMIC FALCON (leader) raced wide rounding the bend near the 1800 metres and then paced roughly before settling outside the leader. ATOMIC FALCON then commenced to give ground from the 600 metres to finish at the rear. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the horse was displaying a slow recovery which was possibly due to the warm conditions prevailing.
JERICHO ROAD was held up briefly on the final turn.
A post race veterinary examination of WASHINGTON DIVA revealed that the mare was lame in the off hind with a veterinary clearance to be produced prior to next racing.
 
Race 3 COMMITTEE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
UNMISSUBLE raced three wide without cover from the 1250 metres after being unable to secure the position outside the leader which was being held by BANKCARD.
LADY MOLLY was held up passing the 400 metres and had to be taken wide rounding the final turn to make its finishing run to finish in 4th place.
MAPUA MABEL appeared reluctant to take the run to the inside of BLINDING LIGHT (leader) on straightening for the run home with Driver S Dickson momentarily dropping his right foot from the sulky footrest when activating the deafeners.
BLINDING LIGHT (favourite) showed early gate speed to lead but was run down into 6th place beaten 2.8 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell stated that he could only attribute the disappointing run to the colt tending to over-race when contacting its own sulky wheel discs during the middle stages.
 
Race 4 ROYDEN WILLIAMS HARNESS RACING PHOTOGRAPHY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MISS BADLANDS broke in the initial stages of the score up but regained its position prior to dispatch.
WAVE SONG broke after 150 metres when leading settling back before giving ground from the 1000 metres to finish distanced. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. A warning was placed against this mare's racing manners.
MONETS DAUGHTER, which trailed the leader, commenced to tire from the 800 metres inconveniencing TAFADHALI and was then taken down into the infield to clear the trailing runners before being retired from the event. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormality with a warning being placed against the mare's racing performance.
HVAR, which had improved three wide during the middle stages before securing a position in the one out running line near the 600 metres, gave ground racing down the back the final time to finish at the rear. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was displaying early symptoms of a respiratory infection which would require further investigation.
Trainer D Marshall (THATSHOWIE ROLL) was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice after a hopple middle carrier came adrift during the running.
 
Race 5 LIFE MEMBERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer S McCaffrey (RANGI RANGDU) was charged a $25 Colour Fee.
PILOT OFFICER commenced to give ground passing the 300 metres and came back on to MEGATRON which was held up for a short distance.
TRAVELLING MAN gave ground quickly over the final stages finishing at the rear. A post race veterinary examination of TRAVELLING MAN revealed no abnormality. Co-Trainer M O'Brien reported that TRAVELLING MAN had sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 650 metres which had placed the gelding at a disadvantage.
 
Race 6 WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The start of this event was delayed for approximately three minutes at the request of the TAB, initially due to a malfunction of the on-course totalisator and then due to problems with the on and off-course vision coverage.
MACH CULLEN broke in the score up when being restrained off the back of THATS BETTOR and trailed the field throughout. A warning was placed against MACH CULLEN's barrier manners behind the mobile.
MACH CRUISER, CHILLYSJUSTASTRUTTER and CLASSIEGENT pulled hard during the middle stages. MACH CRUISER commenced to give ground sharply passing the 800 metres when appearing to choke down and then galloped before being taken down on to the infield to avoid the trailing runners. A subsequent veterinary examination of MACH CRUISER revealed no obvious abnormality with a warning being placed against the gelding's racing manners. Trainer D Gale advised that he would be adding an anti-choke device for the second day.
GOLDEN DELIGHT broke approaching the 300 metres and lost ground before settling and then finished on strongly into 4th place. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
 
Race 7 SPEIGHTS ALE HOUSE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for PRIME LEGAL.
EYRE HOSTESS hung out and broke free of interference passing the 250 metres inconveniencing DASHING DANE. A warning was placed on the racing manners of this mare.
The off front hopple loop on IRISH KATH broke near the 400 metres with this mare pacing roughly for several strides. This gear was inspected and found to be in satisfactory condition with the Trainers deemed not to be at fault.
 
Race 8 PEGASUS SPUR HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
Trainer D Gale advised in accordance with Rule 403(2) that EARLS BULLER GIRL would be racing in foal (42 days).
A false start was declared at the first attempt when the 50 metre barrier failed to clear JOMO.
A further false start was declared at the second attempt when the front barrier failed to release.
PALAIS ROYAL was slow over the early stages from its 70 metre handicap.
IMNOTQUITESURE broke rounding the first bend effectively losing all chance.
CONTINENTAL LOVER broke near the 950 metres losing its chance.
OPAWA SPEED trotted roughly leaving the back straight the final time when tiring.
EARLS BULLER GIRL was held up briefly on the final turn.
GOSIMONGO hung in and contacted several track markers on the final turn when giving ground.
TWO WISHES trotted roughly over the final stages.
