Race 1 RURAL LIVESTOCK - CHEVIOT A&P SHOW TROT Video  Video 
K D MUSCLES broke briefly at the start.
JOHNNY ALEXANDER broke at the start and lost considerable distance.
IZINTHEZONE, DUKE CASTLETON and SQUIRE JOHN broke near the 2400 metres.
NATIVES BRITE GEM raced keenly in the middle stages.
DARK OPS raced wide from the 700 metres before tiring round the final bend.
CONTELLA hung inwards near the 300 metres.
NATIVES BRITE GEM broke passing the 200 metres.
Driver A Clark (DARK OPS) was reminded of his obligations to ensure he starts wider on the track when drawn the unruly.
 
Race 2 DONEGAL HOUSE THE LITTLE IRISH PUB NEAR KAIKOURA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The start was delayed due to a tyre on SARAH P going flat.
WONEATA G broke shortly after the start with the mare being declared unruly for future mobile starts. This mare then broke near the 1600 metres.
OHAPUKU EYRE raced keenly over the early stages when being restrained.
WINDFALL paced roughly passing the 2300 metres.
Near the 700 metres BOOMER BAILEY paced roughly after becoming awkwardly placed close to the wheel of CAPTAIN THUNDERJET after driver G Telfer (BOOMER BAILEY) attempted to shift OHAPUKU EYRE (R May) wider on the track. Stewards questioned drivers May and Telfer regarding this incident and after hearing their explanations, Mr Telfer was advised to be more decisive when attempting to shift ground in future.
CAPTAIN THUNDERJET struck several markers rounding the final bend when hanging. Driver H Clarke (CAPTAIN THUNDERJET) was shown a replay and warned to make a greater effort to ensure she does not make contact with track markers.
WINDFALL and BOOMER BAILEY were held up for clear racing room on the final bend.
WINDFALL was unable to gain clear racing room throughout the run home.
 
Race 3 'JUST MARRIED' MR & MRS HENDERSON MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
PARTY RAGE hung outwards and paced roughly after 150 metres.
Rounding the first bend BELLATRICKS struck a pylon after briefly racing in restricted room.
Passing the 250 metres CHEVRONS CHAMPION shifted in marginally, placing MATTY GROVES inside the passing lane momentarily.
MATTY GROVES raced greenly shortly after resulting in MAXIMUS PRIME having to be steadied briefly.
 
Race 4 WINERIES OF CHEVIOT HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
KOWHAI SUNRISE was slow to begin and then broke shortly after the start.
HARRYSUL broke in the early stages.
Near the 2400 metres ALL LIT UP broke.
Racing into the first bend DIXIE COMMANDO hung inwards and broke.
Passing the 1100 metres ZACHARY BINX hung inwards and broke.
KOWHAI WHIZ gave ground from the 700 metres. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which revealed no abnormalities.
ASTRAPI trotted roughly on the final bend and in the run home with driver B Orange being unable to drive the gelding out.
Near the 40 metres ASTRAPI broke and continued in a break over the finishing line. This gelding was treated post-race after returning to the stable enclosure in a distressed state.
Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(5) alleging that ASTRAPI was in its incorrect gait at the finish of the race and was lapped on by MAJESTIC TIME. Driver B Orange elected not to contest the protest and ASTRAPI was relegated to 4th placing by the JCA.
 
Race 5 HEINIGER "CAPEX CLASSIC" FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BRIDGET BLUE CHIP was held up for clear racing room on the final bend.
MOON ANGEL over raced in the parked position throughout. Driver G Smith advised Stewards that he would be recommending gear changes prior to the filly resuming.
Driver S O'Brien defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(f) which alleged he drove improperly when using his foot to contact the off hind leg of PERISSA early in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Mr O'Brien and Stewards, the JCA upheld the charge and Mr O'Brien's Horseman's Licence was suspended from the close of racing today up to and including 3 May 2015.
 
Race 6 COMMODORE HOTEL MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
ALL ROYAL GAL broke in the score up checking SPRINGBANK EDEN resulting in a false start being declared. Driver J Dunn elected to remain in barrier position one for the re-start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of ALL ROYAL GAL.
TORNADO VALLEY was back at the start.
BERKSHIRE SON was back on the unruly position at the restart.
SOLAR SAM and BERKSHIRE SON tired from the 500 metres.
SPRINGBANK EDEN trotted roughly on the final bend before breaking near the 200 metres.
DONSMEDAD broke near the 250 metres.
 
Race 7 CHEVIOT BUSINESSESS CHEVIOT CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
JOHNNY FOX broke at the start.
MACH'S GLADIATOR and GRADUATE UNDER FIRE tired rounding the final bend.
JOHNNY FOX hung inwards on the final bend and in the run home.
 
Race 8 ROBBIES BAR & BISTRO FFA MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
SPRINGBANK SAM broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Stewards requested a veterinary examination of this gelding which revealed no abnormalities.
ROYAL ASPIRATIONS trotted roughly in the score up and was back a length at the start.
As the start was effected QUALITY INVASION broke losing its chance.
KING OF STRATHFIELD trotted roughly racing into the first bend.
LIVE THE DREAM had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
 
Race 9 AMERICAN IDEAL LEONARD MEMORIAL STAKES (MOBILE PACE) Video  Video 
KOTARE KASAI broke in the score up and was back several lengths at the start.
NORTHERN VELOCITY paced roughly late in the score up.
MIRANDA CULLEN was slow over the early stages and commenced to give ground from the 1100 metres.
EMELI MAGUIRE gave ground on the final bend hampering the trailing GINA GRACE and CHAMPAGNE REIGN. When questioned regarding this driver R May could offer no explanation and was disappointed with the effort. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of the filly which revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 10 PAUL BURNETT MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The start was delayed due to ARTISMEE requiring the addition of a shadow roll in the preliminary.
NEW DEAL raced keenly in the early stages.
In the run home NEW DEAL was dictated outwards marginally by FLYOVER which was hanging outwards simultaneously to DYNAMIC PARTY hanging inwards resulting in NEW DEAL becoming awkwardly placed close to the wheel of DYNAMIC PARTY and breaking. Stewards questioned drivers C Thornley (FLYOVER), S Thompson (NEW DEAL) and M Neilson (DYNAMIC PARTY). After hearing their explanations, Stewards were unable to apportion blame on any one driver and no further action was taken other than to remind drivers Thornley and Neilson of their obligations to keep straight in the run home.
DESTINED FOR GLORY, DONEGAL JIMMY DAVE and ARTISMEE were held up for clear racing room until late in the run home.
DONEGAL JIMMY DAVE was cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
 
Race 11 BUSH INN TAVERN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ANGELINA JOLIE hung inwards near the 1700 metres when improving three wide.
JERICHO and CHANTREY hung inwards and struck pylons passing the 1100 metres.
ANGELINA JOLIE again hung inwards near the 500 metres and gave ground. Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of the mare which revealed no abnormalities.
Stewards requested a post-race veterinary examination of CULINARY DELIGHT which gave ground over the final stages. This examination revealed the mare to have a slow recovery rate.
