Race 3 - NEVILLE CRONIN MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
Trainer T White arranged a follow up veterinary examination of FRANCO SYNERGY following its disappointing performance. The examination revealed FRANCO SYNERGY to be showing signs of a cold.

Stewards contacted co-trainer G Lee regarding the condition of LIGHTNING FLIGHT following this race. Mr Lee reported that the gelding had recovered well and no abnormalities had been detected.

Race 1 SOUTHLAND MASTER PLUMBERS RACEDAY MOBILE TROT Video  Video 
Permission was granted for DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR to race in alternative colours due to the trainer's colours of Mr Purdon not currently being available.
During the middle stages of the score up RUBY'S JEWEL broke and shifted ground outwards with DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR having to check off this runner resulting in DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR breaking and losing considerable ground. RUBY'S JEWEL also lost considerable ground prior to the dispatch point.
RUBY'S JEWEL raced four wide without cover from the 600 metres.
LOVE THE MOMENT broke approaching the 300 metres with driver G Lee advising the gelding broke free of interference when under pressure. The trailing CELESTE FRANCO was briefly inconvenienced by the breaking LOVE THE MOMENT.
SNOOP DOG broke near the 100 metres.
Driver B Barclay reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners on SKY COMMANDER due to the cord becoming entangled.
Following this race the Stewards declared DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR a late scratching pursuant to Rule 213(1)(j) after they deemed DUCHESSE DE L'AMOUR to have been denied a fair start and its chances had been materially affected when having to check off RUBY'S JEWEL in the score up.
 
Race 2 ALWAYS USE A MASTER PLUMBER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
After approximately 300 metres OPTING OPTIONS (A Beck) attempted to ease MACY BLUE CHIP (B Williamson) when vying for a position on the back of SANTANNA MAGIC. OPTING OPTIONS was unsuccessful and was forced to race three wide without cover until reaching the parked position with 1500 metres to run.
ROCKY ROAD raced keenly through the middle stages when improving to the parked position.
The favourite MACY BLUE CHIP race three wide without cover over the final 1000 metres.
THREE TRICKS and JACCKA MARA were both held up round the final bend.
BEAUDIENE CLEMINTYNE was also denied clear racing room rounding the final bend and through the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 3 RMC RELIANCE WORLDWIDE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
EJA PATRON was back off the gate at the start and was unable to maintain contact with the body of the field through the early stages.
KILKENNY TURK hung outwards racing into the first bend.
ZEN WARRIOR raced three wide without cover from the 1100 metres until receiving cover passing the 600 metres.
DISSOLUTION was denied racing room round the final bend before shifting outwards nearing the 200 metres to obtain clear racing room.
Approaching the 200 metres SHARK ALI (R Rogers) attempted to improve his position between KILKENNY TURK (J Cox) and PAULA'S ON FIRE (K Barclay). As a result SHARK ALI struck the sulky wheel of PAULA'S ON FIRE and broke, then stumbled and fell to the ground dislodging Junior Horseman R Rogers from the sulky. R Rogers was examined by the St John Ambulance Paramedics and found to have suffered some minor abrasions to his knee and was subsequently cleared to fulfil his remaining driving engagement today. SHARK ALI was examined by the clubs veterinarian and found to have suffered a cut to a leg and abrasions to the face. The connections of SHARK ALI were advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding racing next. Junior horseman R Rogers in the presence of his employer Mr H Hunter admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when allowing SHARK ALI to strike a sulky wheel which resulted in SHARK ALI falling. After viewing replays and hearing penalty submissions from Mr Rogers, Mr Hunter and the Stewards the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
When questioned regarding the performance of favoured runner ZEN WARRIOR driver N Williamson advised that after receiving an unfavourable draw ZEN WARRIOR had been forced work hard through the middle stages which had taken its toll on the colt over the concluding stages.
When questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of BETTOR'S AVENUE trainer W Adams advised BETTOR'S AVENUE had received a favourable barrier draw today, he had removed the pacifier and added blinds and this had assisted the gelding to race sharper today.
 
Race 4 BUTELINE MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer S Lock was warned pursuant to Rule 858(b) for being late to present PEGASUS KOMMANDER onto the race track.
There was a delay to the start due to a mark on the track requiring attention.
LITE JAZZ paced roughly in the score up and was back of the gate at the dispatch.
Just after the dispatch point RICO GOLD broke for a considerable distance before settling at the back of the field with the connections advised a warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of the gelding.
RICO GOLD raced keenly during the running.
The favourite RIVER PATROL raced three wide without cover over the final 1000 metres.
 
Race 5 MASTERLINK HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
HOPE AND PRAY broke at the start losing all chance.
HEARD THE WHISPER was slow over the early stages then trotted roughly after approximately 150 metres.
ANOTHER CRUSHER trotted roughly through the early stages before breaking with 2200 metres to run.
The boring pole on SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR broke and become unattached shortly after the start with SOUTHLAND REFLECTOR subsequently breaking near the 1400 metres.
STRATHFIELD SUN was held up round the final bend.
SANTORINI SUNSET was denied racing room throughout the final bend and also through the early and middle stages of the final straight.
HEARD THE WHISPER was flushed wide on the final bend when attempting to improve its position.
With approximately 30 metres to run GEE UP NEDDY broke and was immediately restrained by driver B Barclay. Due to GEE UP NEDDY not being lapped on, nor being in its incorrect gait in excess of 50 metres and that B Barclay had immediately restrained the horse the Stewards were satisfied no further action was required.
 
Race 6 TRAIN AN APPRENTICE 'CLAIMERS FINAL' MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ELI LOWE skied its head on a number of occasions in the score up and then hung outwards over the early stages.
NEWMANS JET was back off the gate on the second line.
ELI LOWE commenced to give ground over the final 700 metres with the trailing BENNY BARBA being held up briefly near the 600 metres.
Near the 300 metres PERCIUS shifted outwards forcing JACLYN SMITH wider on the track.
ELI LOWE was claimed from this event by A Milne.
 
Race 7 INSTALL A RHEEM FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ANNIE FITZ broke in the score up and took no serious part in the event.
LISABELLE commenced to give ground from the 600 metres with EXTREME JAY tiring from the 450 metres and striking a pylon when under pressure. Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination of EXTREME JAY which revealed no clinical abnormalities.
ART EXHIBIT was held up passing the 400 metres when attempting to ease OLWEN JACCKA wider on the track.
HOT CHILLI paced roughly for several strides when being angled out to find clear racing room near the 200 metres.
 
Race 8 MARLEY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
After approximately 250 metres NOTHINGFORTHEMEDIA broke settling off the back of field with the gelding failing to maintain contact with the body of the field for the remainder of the race.
SHEZACHEAPY raced three wide from the 1200 metres and was left without cover from the 1000 metres before reaching the parked position with 600 metres to run.
Both VERA'S DELIGHT and TACT CHARLOTTE raced in restricted room and were momentarily held up by the tiring SHEZACHEAPY near the 250 metres.
Trainer D McLachlan will be spoken to in the upcoming days in relation to the racing manners of NOTHINGFORTHEMEDIA.
 
Race 9 PLUMBING WORLD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The favourite PULP FICTION broke with approximately 1700 metres to run when being angled out to improve its position with the colt breaking again near the 600 metres. Driver J Dunn advised that the colt had been racing keenly and striking his sulky wheels when it broke. Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination of PULP FICTION which revealed no clinical abnormalities.
Passing the 600 metres SHAK'N CULLEN (G Lee) raced in restricted room when TED WEST (J Cox) improved on its inside and JANGO FETT (K Larsen) was racing on its outside. As a result SHAK'N CULLEN briefly locked wheels with TED WEST. The Stewards questioned Mr Cox and Mr Larsen regarding this incident. Mr Cox advised he was improving into the position vacated by CHAR DO NEIGH (B Barclay). He stated that when he shifted ground he believed JANGO FETT (K Larsen) had momentarily been forced to race four wide when racing to the outside of CHAR DO NEIGH and he believed he was entitled to shift outwards. Mr Larsen advised he was only briefly forced four wide and that he was entitled to retain his original position. After viewing the replays Stewards advised both Mr Cox and Mr Larsen to exercise care in similar circumstances.
TED WEST failed to gain clear racing room throughout the final 600 metres of the race with driver J Cox advising he did not activate the removable deafeners on the gelding.
 
Race 10 HYDROFLOW MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DOUBLE IMPACT raced fiercely when being restrained to obtain cover through the early stages.
Approaching the 1500 metres SAGE (M Williamson) was retired from the event when the near side quick hitch adaptor on the sulky worked loose.
STRATEGIC MISS and ASTRO BOY were both held up rounding the final bend.
 
Race 11 MICO PLUMBING & PIPELINES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
MACH DENARIO broke in the score up which hindered LOLA JACCKA (N Williamson) on the second line.
The favourite MACH DENARIO after breaking at the start improved three wide to the parked position near the 1100 metres. When reaching the parked position MACH DENARIO paced roughly on several occasions when being restrained by driver J Dunn. As a result MACH DENARIO raced wide on the track over the final 800 metres. Stewards ordered a post-race veterinary examination of MACH DENARIO which revealed no clinical abnormalities. The connections were advised that MACH DENARIO was placed on the Unruly for its future mobile start events by order of the Stewards.
ROBYN'S BAD BOY, ANOTHER WINDERMERE and FLUSHING MEADOWS were all held up rounding the final bend with ANOTHER WINDERMERE unable to gain racing room throughout the run home.
Authorisation of all placings was withheld until the Stewards had spoken to N Williamson (LOLA JACCKA) regarding the start. Mr Williamson advised that although he was slightly out of position at the start he had received every opportunity during the race and he did not believe his chances were materially prejudiced. After hearing from Mr Williamson and viewing the replays all placings were duly authorised.
 
Race 12 ALABAR 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
TICKS BABE hung inwards when being steadied in the early stages.
