Selected horses on today's programme had blood samples taken for TCO2 analysis.
Due to the abandonment of the Otago Racing Club's meeting at Wingatui, the T.A.B requested the start times for Races 3, 4 and 5 on today's programme be put back five minutes respectively.

Race 1 WAIKATO MILKING SYSTEMS TROT Video  Video 
ROCKET was back out of its position at the start and then began awkwardly losing further ground. This mare then broke passing the 700 metres.
MANAAKI broke in the early stages and lost ground.
ILLUSTRIOUS QUEEN raced wide throughout the middle stages.
TROUBLE ME gave ground passing the 500 metres.
SALTWATER GOLD was held up in the early stages of the run home. This gelding then dislodged a pylon when placed in restricted room to the inside of HENLEY PARK just after the 200 metres. Horseman M Edmonds had to then steady SALTWATER GOLD passing the 50 metres when the gelding trotted roughly.
 
Race 2 SLEEPYHEAD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
PAUL'S VERDICT broke in the score up but settled by the starting point.
THOMAS had a warning placed on its mobile barrier record after breaking at the start, shifting inwards checking LANDLOCH.
COVER DRIVE also had a warning placed against its mobile barrier record after breaking at the start losing ground.
BETTOR LUCK had a warning placed on its racing record after it broke passing the 1400 metres and again near the 300 metres.
GERALD was held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
Horseman C Thornley (NOTHINGTOLAUGHABOUT) advised he did not activate the mare's removable gear due to having the field covered.
When questioned with regard to the improved performance of STAR IN THE FUTURE, trainer/driver R Anderson explained the filly had derived considerable benefit from its trip away and racing in Nelson where he felt the filly despite its losing margins, had acquitted itself well. Mr Anderson added that the filly had also appreciated racing on today's grass surface.
R Payne (PAUL'S VERDICT) was cautioned to change his whip action.
Horseman J Wigzell (WHYCHANGE) will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner in which he drove over the concluding stages.
 
Race 3 VILLAGE INN TAB & SPORTS BAR PACE Video  Video 
MASTER JORDY had a warning placed on its standing start record after it reared at the start and took no part.
FIREDUP began awkwardly and settled towards the rear of the field.
INCA BAY broke after 300 metres and lost considerable ground.
FRANCO TARIQ broke near the 2000 metres and was retired from the event by driver K Butt due to sustaining a broken hopple. This gear was inspected and found to be of a previously good condition.
TOM BOLA was held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
COYOTE paced roughly passing the 100 metres.
 
Race 4 PETER WALSH & ASSOCIATES TROT Video  Video 
RENEGADE FIGHTER broke after 300 metres.
GLENFERRIE SUNBIRD broke and lost a considerable amount of ground nearing the 2000 metres.
FILIGREE SHEREE broke passing the 1900 metres and lost its chance.
DREAM BIG was momentarily placed wider on the track by GALLEONS ROYALE nearing the 1200 metres. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule regarding this with the video evidence disclosing that GALLEONS ROYALE had commenced its outward movement just prior to DREAM BIG reaching its sulky wheel and no further action was warranted.
GOGIRL BROMAC had its outside wheel disc break with approx.1300 metres to run when struck by DREAM BIG which had been improved to its outside.
TEHORO RUBY weakened considerably passing the 700 metres. When questioned with regard to the performance of the mare driver J Harrington could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abnormal recovery rate. Trainer R Holmes advised he would have blood tests taken in the coming days and would notify Stewards of anything which may come to light that may explain the performance.
PETITE ROYAL was inclined to run outwards throughout the run home.
When questioned with regard to the performance of OTTAWA driver M Williamson advised that the gelding had travelled lethargically throughout and disappointed him with its efforts over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M Tapper advised Stewards that he was very disappointed with the run however it is his intention to continue with the horse's preparation by racing this Friday and after which he would reassess its programme.
 
Race 5 HARCOURTS GERALDINE & E B FAWDRAY PACE Video  Video 
Starter P Lamb declared a false start after the barrier strand failed to release.
ARTISTRY had a warning placed on its standing start manners after it broke at the start checking GRANDE BROMAC which in turn ran outwards checking KINSELA KATY and NOMATTERMEE.
THE EDGE OF REASON broke as the start was effected.
DOCTOR MCDREAMY broke at the start then paced roughly entering the home straight.
KINSELA KATY paced roughly entering the first bend and broke.
THE EDGE OF REASON over-raced through the middle stages.
Driver K Cameron (ITSA LEGGY LASS) was cautioned to change his whip action.
 
Race 6 HAYDEN MACKENZIE CONTRACTING & GERALDINE TRANSPORT PACE Video  Video 
THIS AIN'T TENNESSEE and LIFESTYLER broke at the start.
SO YOU THINK commenced to tire passing the 400 metres inconveniencing AS KIWI AS which in turn ran outwards checking MATCH POINT.
FRANCO TYSON was held up for clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver R Close advised that as a result he had not activated the removable deafeners.
LOTTIE FRANCO had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the middle stages of the run home. Horsewoman C Hunter advised she was unable to activate the removable blinds as a result.
ALWAYS YOURS was inclined to hang inwards throughout the run home resulting in SHEER CLASS and GOING TO CALIFORNIA having to be steadied passing the 50 metres.
The near side number hung loose on TAIA'S KID throughout the running.
 
Race 7 DONEGAL HOUSE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Trainer C Dalgety was charged the mandatory $25 fee for failing to have the registered colours available for CHEVRONS EASY.
BETTOR ACE raced wide through the early and middle stages.
KWIK weakened passing the 400 metres.
CHEVRONS EASY had a warning placed against its racing record after breaking free of interference with 150 metres remaining.
 
Race 8 HANLEY FORMULA ORARI CHALLENGE STAKES (MOBILE TROT) Video  Video 
RUSTY I AM was a late scratching after suffering a colic attack the previous evening.
SONEY BEATT was out of position at the start.
SUNNY RUBY was out of position at the start before breaking briefly when racing into the first bend.
BOURBON AND DRY broke shortly after the start and shifted inwards.
NATIVES LASTING LOVE raced greenly entering the first bend.
AGNES BROWN broke leaving the final bend.
SPRINGBANK EDEN broke passing the 200 metres.
CHARMING LAVRA was unable to be driven with any vigour due to trotting in an uneven fashion throughout the run home.
When questioned regarding the performance of EILISH AIMEE horseman J Dunn expressed disappointment. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed nothing that could explain its performance. Co-trainer C Edmonds advised he would have blood tests taken in the coming days and notify Stewards of these results.
 
Race 9 THE TYRE GENERAL/MORRISON'S SADDLERY & FEEDS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BEAUDIENE BEAUT BABE hung outwards through the middle stages with driver K Butt having difficulty maintaining her position in the running line.
BIG TEXAS broke in the early stages of the run home resulting in the nearside hopple breaking.
EASTWOOD CRYSTAL was held up for racing room through the early stages of the run home.
The cord on the removable hood of BEACON HILL broke as horseman C Ferguson attempted to activate this gear.
Driver M Neilson (ALGRANCOBOWJOEL) reported the near side hopple shortener failed to release.
 
Race 10 GERALDINE FRESHCHOICE/FIBER FRESH PACE Video  Video 
NICKY'S DYNAMIC had a warning placed against its standing start manners after it reared on several occasions which delayed the start.
THAT'S HUNTING PINK shifted outwards abruptly as the start was effected checking WHYAMIBETTOR. Due to THAT'S HUNTING PINK having lost its chance and being pulled up in its previous standing start the mare was ordered to start from the unruly position in future standing starts.
FAIR DINKUM BROMAC broke shortly after the start checking REKLAW SUPREME with REKLAW SUPREME losing a shoe in this incident.
When questioned in regard to the performance of THE FLYING SCOTSMAN trainer/driver N McGrath expressed disappointment. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed a normal respiratory recovery however some filling over the loin area was detected.
 
Race 11 TEMUKA TRANSPORT & MACKENZIE SUPPLY SERVICES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Co-trainers G & N Hope were fined $50 for failing to notify that DESTINED FOR GLORY would be racing with blinds by the prescribed time.
DAUGHTRY BROMAC (I Lee) broke when racing into the first bend after being eased down the track by TUSCALOOSA (C Thornley). Stewards viewed the films with drivers Lee and Thornley regarding this incident establishing that DAUGHTRY BROMAC had hung outwards after being eased down the track resulting in its hind leg making contact with the sulky of TUSCALOOSA which was the cause of the break ensuing no further action being necessary.
ARTFILLY was inclined to hang outwards racing round the final turn.
THE FRIENDLYASSASSIN was held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
When questioned regarding the performance of SAILING ON horsewoman S Ottley advised the race was not run to suit the gelding and given this she was not disappointed with its performance.
