Race 1 ALABAR SUPER SERIES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
Despite the efforts of driver C DeFilippi and M Williamson, BOOMER BAILEY and BIRD OF PARADISE were both out of position at the start.
Racing into the first bend HIGHVIEW FREDDY paced roughly.
HIGHVIEW FREDDY was taken wider on the track at the 1000 metres and eased out of the race.
Racing towards the 900 metres MARQUIS EYRE (R Holmes) had to be restrained when placed in restricted room between LITTLE LION MAN and SANS LE SOU after driver R Holmes had made an unsuccessful attempt to improve his position outwards.
LITTLE LION MAN was held up throughout the run home. Driver S Ottley reported because of this she had not activated any of the gelding's gear.
BOOMER BAILEY hung outwards under pressure throughout the final straight.
Stewards spoke with J Cox as the driver of TWITCH and advised him it was expected he make a greater effort in future to ensure his runners remain in position until start point.
A post-race veterinary examination of HIGHVIEW FREDDY revealed no apparent abnormalities. When questioned regarding the run of this gelding, stable representative J Dunn explained they would have further veterinary tests carried out during the week and would notify Stewards if anything should come to light that could help to explain the disappointing run.
 
Race 2 RESOURCE RECYCLING TECHNOLOGIES NZ LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
L Driver as the trainer of LEWY RISK was issued with a $100 minor infringement notice for presenting the gelding to race in removable deafeners which were not notified.
MADIBA MAGIC raced keenly throughout the middle stages and on occasions made contact with the helmet of J Cox (PROVOCATIVE PRINCE).
MADIBA MAGIC was eased down on the final bend after sustaining a punctured sulky tyre near the 700 metres. Stewards questioned R May as the driver of LEWY RISK regarding this where it was established that after being shifted to a four wide position he had attempted to move back to the three wide line trailing MADIBA MAGIC however his gelding had hung outwards significantly making this shift increasingly difficult and due to LEWY RISK being slow to respond he had touched the wheel which had subsequently deflated. Stewards after considering his explanation and taking into account the difficulties he was encountering took the matter no further.
SOMEARDENSOMEWHERE was unable to gain clear racing room through the middle and late stages of the run home.
 
Race 3 JEFF DERMOTT PAINTING & DECORATING -ALABAR S/S HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
INSIGNIFICANT swung inwards and lost ground at the start.
QUEEN KENNY, OCH AYE THE NOO, KOWHAI SUNRISE and FREE BIRD all broke at the start.
SPLASH COLA broke passing the 2300 metres.
SPLASH COLA again broke at the 700 metres.
WILLIE SHINE broke passing the 600 metres.
ZACHARY BINX and FREE BIRD broke passing the 500 metres.
A post-race veterinary examination was carried out on HAZEL ALICE after the mare returned to the enclosure making abnormal breathing noises with this examination revealing no apparent abnormalities.
 
Race 4 PGG WRIGHTSON HARNESS 5000 MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
WEBB ELLIS over-raced in the early stages when driver D Dunn attempted to surrender the lead to the improving PRINCE OF POPS.
Near the 1500 metres PRINCE OF POPS when leading broke causing a disorganisation to the majority of the field and checking a number of trailing runners. Stewards placed a warning on the gelding's racing record. When questioned with regards to the breaking of the gelding, driver S Phelan could only advise that in his opinion the gelding had knuckled over.
THE LION'S ROAR weakened passing the 400 metres and in doing so hung inwards and struck pylons. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, driver J Cox explained that it had struggled with the considerable rise in class.
The sliding blinds on ONEOVER were not able to be activated due to the cord breaking. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
 
Race 5 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PREMIER MARES CHAMPIONSHIP (MOBILE) Video  Video 
WILLOW raced keenly over the early stages.
HERE WE GO AGAIN raced keenly in the middle stages and weakened passing the 400 metres.
NEW YEARS JAY lay inwards over the final stages.
Co-trainer G Hope advised Stewards that pending an upcoming scan of the mare it was his intention to retire HELENA JET.
 
Race 6 PGG WRIGHTSON NZ YEARLING SALES SERIES No.23 CHAMPS (MOBILE) Video  Video 
TILLY BROGDEN shifted outwards over the early stages despite the efforts of driver J Dunn to keep the filly straight eventually making contact with TWICE THE DELIGHT who broke and lost considerable ground.
TILLY BROGDEN continued to race fiercely causing driver J Dunn considerable difficulty with this filly being retired from the race passing the 1000 metres. Co-trainer M Kerr advised Stewards that the filly had locked onto one rein and they would be making gear adjustments and returning the filly to the workouts prior to resuming racing.
On the first bend near the 1700 metres JOANNE'S A DELIGHT broke after being contacted by KATY PERRY which was being shifted down the track by driver R May. As a result of this JOANNE'S A DELIGHT lost considerable ground. Stewards questioned A Butt (JOANNE'S A DELIGHT) and R May (KATY PERRY) regarding this and after considering their explanations and reviewing the films, Stewards issued driver R May with a charge under Rule 869(3)(b). The details of which alleged that when not entitled to he had attempted to shift JOANNE'S A DELIGHT down the track with that movement causing JOANNE'S A DELIGHT to gallop. Mr May defended the breach, however after considering all submissions the charge was found proved and Mr May was fined the sum of $800.
 
Race 7 TELTRAC COMMUNICATIONS LTD SUMMER TROTTING FREE-FOR-ALL(MOB) Video  Video 
ROYAL ASPIRATIONS (S Smolenski), VULCAN (B Butt) and KINCASLOUGH (J Dunn) were all back at the start. All drivers were issued with warnings to ensure their runners remain in their allocated barrier positions right up to point of dispatch.
CLOVER DON over-raced through the middle stages.
ROYAL ASPIRATIONS was held up in the early stages of the run home.
 
Race 8 MASTER CLEANING - ALABAR SUPER SERIES HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
SUNNIVUE BAY BOY, SPEEDY JACK, DELIGHTFUL DASH and SHEEZA SHARK broke at the start.
MUSIC broke rounding the final bend.
SHE'S GOT IT was denied clear racing room in the run home.
A veterinary inspection was carried out on TOKOHOKA after it returned to the enclosure with blood present in a nostril. This examination revealed the gelding to have a burst growth in its nasal passage.

The murphy blind on MIGHTY FLYING MAC came loose shortly after the start.
Driver J Dunn (JIVIN CULLEN) dropped his foot momentarily rounding the final bend when activating gear.
When questioned with regards to the performance of TIGER TARA, driver G O'Reilly explained that the entire had been unsuited to the sit-sprint tempo of tonight's race.
 
Race 10 CANTERBURY COUNTRY RUGBY 2015 HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
A false start was declared when the barrier became entangled in runners THE BOG and MC BLIZZARD.
At the restart MC BLIZZARD refused to move away inconveniencing KING DENNY slightly and effectively losing its own chance in the event.
SARATOGA was fractious prior to the start, and at the request of driver B Orange, SARATOGA was placed on the unruly.
Shortly after the start THE BOG broke.
POPPYMALDA and HARRYSUL were held up rounding the final bend. N Williamson (POPPYMALDA) reported he had not activated the removable deafeners on his mare because of this.
