Race 1 WAIHI BEACH RSA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A minor infringement notice was issued and a $100 fine imposed on trainer A Grant under Rule 865(2) for presenting CELTIC WARRIOR without the notified sliding blinds.
PRIME LEGAL was claimed by T Vince (Auckland).
VIEWFIELD APACHE broke in the score-up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of VIEWFIELD APACHE.
LEROY BROGDEN broke racing into the first turn after briefly contesting for a position in the one out running line with OUR SOUTHERN MAN. After questioning Amateur Driver W Rich (LEROY BROGDEN) and viewing the replays no further action was deemed necessary.
An information was lodged alleging that Amateur Driver J Kriechbaumer (OUR SOUTHERN MAN) drove carelessly approaching the 750m when OUR SOUTHERN MAN contacted and punctured the near-side sulky tyre on JD'S DREAM. The charge was admitted with the JCA imposing a $250 fine.
Amateur drivers M Stormont (NICOLE VAIDISOVA), T Vince (WITH A VENGEANCE) and M Northcott (EASY FOR CULLEN) were all warned to correct their whip action.
 
Race 2 WILSON PLUMBING & GAS HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
TUI SPUR was slow to begin.
SHARDON'S PEARL broke shortly after the start forcing SUNOVA to take evasive action.
NO ORDINARY SUN broke approaching the 1400 metres and trailed the field.
ROCKY SIX broke near the 700 metres losing all chance.
A NIGHT IN PARIS broke passing the 200 metres.
PIPPA MIDDLETON broke under pressure near the 50 metres.
 
Race 3 SEEKA KIWIFRUIT INDUSTRIES FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The start was delayed for approximately two minutes due to the on course ambulance staff being required to attend to a patron.
WAIARIKIKI broke at the start and settled at the rear. A warning was placed against this mare's barrier manners from the mobile.
CHERRY EVANS tended to lay in throughout the running, and in particular near the 650 metres before shifting out to a three wide position.
TIGER TAMER broke approaching the 500 metres when being restrained off the back of JEANIE POPS which had to be eased when following CHERRY EVANS after that filly was moved wider on the track by ROWAN SAPPHIRE.
LAVISH BLOWBACK was held up over the final stages when unable to secure clear racing room.
 
Race 4 RENNERS BAR TAURANGA MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ALOTBETTOR broke shortly after the start and settled at the rear of the field. A warning was placed on this gelding's mobile barrier manners.
BETA B QUICK raced three wide for the first 600 metres before crossing to race one out without cover. This gelding then weakened inside the last 400 metres to finish at the rear.
Driver M McKendry reported that the favourite ATOMIC JET's performance was very disappointing, and could only attribute the run to the gelding over-racing in the middle stages. ATOMIC JET trailed the leader and faded to finish in 8th place beaten 4.7 lengths.
 
Race 5 ALISON WALLIS MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
COMETS DREAM became unbalanced travelling over the crossing and broke losing several lengths before settling at the rear.
CLINTON JONES lost contact with the main body of the field over the early stages and when being improved by driver S Lawson to catch the field raced greenly approaching the 1200 metres.
COMETS DREAM paced roughly when being improved three and four wide from inside the 1000 metres and then broke free of interference losing its chance with 500 metres to run. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Driver H Morgan was shown the replay of the race and advised to exercise better judgement in regard to her drive on COMETS DREAM.
BRYDON JET broke free of interference with 150 metres to run. A warning was placed on this gelding's racing manners.
 
Race 6 STAPLES RODWAY TAURANGA HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
No claims were lodged for DRAGON LADY.
There was a delay to the start as a veterinary inspection was required for RUBY CASTLETON after this mare reared and fell to the track on two occasions. After receiving clearance to start RUBY CASTLETON again reared and fell resulting in the Stewards declaring the mare a late scratching at 3.18 pm. RUBY CASTLETON was declared ineligible for 14 days up to and including 8 February 2015.
SAPPHIRE CASTLETON broke briefly shortly after the start.
TERESKOVA broke for several strides when leading passing the 2300 metres momentarily inconveniencing OUR SUPER RAM.
THE SCRUFF broke on straightening for the run home inconveniencing DRAGON LADY which also broke, with both horses losing all chance.
EYREWELL PEGASUS commenced to give ground near the 500 metres and then broke passing the 400 metres when at the rear.
JOGO BONITO broke passing the 150 metres losing all chance.
 
Race 7 TAURANGA CITIZENS CLUB MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
A false start was declared after I AM THE ONE broke in the score up checking BALIUS, with driver M McKendry electing to retain his allotted barrier position for the restart. A warning was placed against the mobile barrier manners of I AM THE ONE.
RANGI RANGDU failed to get clear racing room until inside the last 50 metres.
BALIUS was held up until just short of the winning post.
HERE'S SHIFTY failed to get clear racing room throughout the run home which resulted in driver D Butcher not activating the deafeners.
I AM THE ONE (favourite) improved to lead passing the 1500 metres but was headed inside the 300 metres before weakening to finish in 10th place beaten 3.8 lengths.

SOUL HANOVER was inclined to lay in over the initial and middle stages.
RIVERBOAT SUE lay in throughout the run home.
RED SKY NIGHT was held up late in the run home.
 
Race 9 GARTSHORE GROUP TAURANGA GRASS CUP (HANDICAP PACE) Video  Video 
A minor infringement was issued and a $100 fine imposed on trainers S Telfer and C Garlick under Rule 865(2) for presenting FREESPIN to race without the notified blinds.
ELECTRIC CHAPEL reared as the barriers were released and was slow to begin.
IDEAL SUCCESS broke at the start but soon settled.
TAKE THE HINT broke at the start and shifted out checking KIPPENBERGER for several strides with MACH CRUISER and NORVIC NIGHTOWL having to take evasive action.
IDEAL SUCCESS broke again after 200 metres and failed to settle taking no further part. A warning was placed against this gelding's racing manners.
MAJOR OUCH tired over the final stages with a warning being placed against this gelding's racing performance.
FIBRE OPTIC, which raced prominently early, tired from the 700 metres to finish at the rear. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed against the gelding's racing performance.
Drivers D Butcher (TAKE THE HINT) and J Dickie (KIPPENBERGER) reported that they both sustained a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
 
Race 10 ULTIMATE MOTOR GROUP MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
BETTORS CARD which had shown early gate speed to lead, became unbalanced racing over the crossing and broke losing several lengths before settling.
EARTHBOUND, which was midfield on the inner, broke racing over the crossing checking PLAYAWAY with EARTHBOUND losing considerable ground.
HOUHORA DREAM broke passing the 400m when racing to the outside of PLAYAWAY. An information was filed alleging that driver S Abernethy (HOUHORA DREAM) was in breach of Rule 869(4) in that he drove in a manner which resulted in interference to his own horse by attempting to resist the outward shift of PLAYAWAY when not in a position to do so. The JCA upheld the charge and imposed a fine of $300.
