General
Selected horses on today's programme had blood samples taken for TCO2 analysis.
Race 1 - Trainer M Perriton advised Stewards that SARAH P was in foal.
Race 2 - Driver I Schwamm was replaced on SALTWATER GOLD by M Edmonds after sustaining an injury this morning. Mr Schwamm was advised that a medical clearance will be required before he resumes driving.

Race 1 - TOPLINE FENCING LTD HANDICAP TROT
Driver J Lethaby (CRUSADER COVERGIRL) was questioned in regards to him driving with his foot out of the sulky rest on several occasions during this race. Mr Lethaby explained that the sulky seat had slipped backwards causing him to become unbalanced in the sulky. After hearing from Mr Lethaby and viewing the replays, no further action was required in regards to this issue. However Mr Lethaby was cautioned for failing to advise Stewards of the incident.

Race 1 CHRISTCHURCH CASINO MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
EXPRESSIVE VICTOR broke in the score up inconveniencing BIRD OF PARADISE and STYX ON with a false start being declared. Driver R May elected to remain in barrier position 7 for the re-start. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of EXPRESSIVE VICTOR.
Due to a communication error by the Secretary to Trackside, it was incorrectly reported that EXPRESSIVE VICTOR would be starting from the unruly position for the re-start. This information was corrected shortly after.
BAILEYS WISH was back a length at the start. When questioned regarding this, driver N McGrath advised the filly had been striking the sulky wheel discs after racing keenly. He added that the filly had continued to strike the wheel discs in the early stages.
STYX ON raced wide in the early stages.
ANIKA LINDENNY raced roughly near the 700 metres after being crossed by ROYAL CAROLINE.
ANIKA LINDENNY gave ground from the 500 metres inconveniencing the trailing AGNES DE GEROLSTEIN.
Driver B Orange (CHAMPAGNE DREAMS) dropped his foot from the sulky rest for some distance near the 200 metres. Mr Orange was issued with a warning under Rule 867 to ensure he immediately returns his foot to the sulky rest.

MERLOT was fractious prior to the start and was slow to begin.
CYCLONE JETER broke briefly at the start.
LITTLE MISS paced after 100 metres and had to be broken up by driver T Jellyman.
BORDEAUX broke after 200 metres inconveniencing the trailing SALTWATER GOLD.
SALTWATER GOLD and LITTLE MISS broke racing into the first bend.
CONTINENTAL LOVER and HENLEY PARK struck several pylons on the final bend.
DIANA HARBOUR broke near the 200 metres when shifting inwards in search of clear running.
SOUTH COASTER broke passing the 100 metres.

NEW YEARS JAY hung inwards in the score up.
MACH'S LOVE raced wide in the early stages and then commenced to over-race after improving to the parked position.
Driver J Cox briefly dropped his foot from the sulky rest early in the run home when activating the removable gear on NEW YEARS JAY.
SELL A BIT and THIS AIN'T TENNESSEE hung inwards in the home straight.
Near the 100 metres BETTY GOLIGHTLY was placed in restricted room to the inside of NEW YEARS JAY which had shifted ground. Driver J Cox was shown a replay and warned for the manner in which he shifted ground.
NEW YEARS JAY paced roughly in the run home.
 
Race 4 PARKLANDS PAWNSHOP TROT Video  Video 
MILLIONS TO SPARE broke at the start losing its chance and was retired from the event.
MILLIONS TO SPARE was placed on the unruly for future standing starts at the request of the connections.
LADY HEST raced wide in the early stages.
PETITE ROYAL broke near the 1900 metres before settling at the rear of the field.
OTTAWA hung outwards in the middle stages.
TROUBLE ADO trotted roughly near the 1000 metres before giving ground on the final bend.
OTTAWA hung inwards in the run home.
FOREVERMAN trotted roughly in the run home.
Authorisation of 3rd placing being awarded to PETITE ROYAL was withheld until Stewards had viewed a replay and were satisfied that PETITE ROYAL had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in the middle stages.
Stewards questioned driver K Butt regarding the lack of vigour she displayed over the concluding stages when driving PRESTINE. Miss Butt explained that the mare had trotted very roughly in the home straight when tiring and was hanging outwards badly and was of the opinion that the mare may gallop. After considering submissions from Miss Butt, Stewards took the matter no further.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of LISA MARIE P, trainer/driver M Perriton explained that the mare had been unlucky in recent starts and she was not surprised with its performance considering the drop in class for tonight's race.
 
Race 5 HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSE & DI DAKIN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The rein pricker was removed from NAUGHTY MARAVU prior to the start after the gelding warmed up unfavourably.
ROO STAR hung outwards in the score up.
MCARDLE ROYALE over-raced in the middle stages.
ROO STAR paced roughly on the final bend with driver R May advising he elected not to activate the removable deafeners.
 
Race 6 CHRISTIAN CULLEN MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
KINGI HONE KIRA raced wide in the early stages.
KINGI HONE KIRA briefly raced wider on the track near the 1200 metres after MIAMI HEAT had improved outwards. Stewards reviewed footage regarding this and it was established that driver S Ottley (MIAMI HEAT) had shifted ground prior to KINGI HONE KIRA (S McNally) reaching her sulky wheel.
 
Race 7 ACTIVE ELECTRICAL CHRISTCHURCH MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
DYNAMIC PARTY raced keenly in the early stages.
THE BRIGADIER over-raced in the middle stages and was held up on the final bend.
Driver N McGrath (THE BRIGADIER) briefly dropped his foot from the sulky rest near the 150 metres.
 
Race 8 GRANITE BENCHTOP COMPANY MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS raced wide in the early stages and was restrained to the rear of the field.
JOHNNY EYRE raced keenly in the early stages.
ALWAYS YOURS hung inwards near the 300 metres and struck several pylons.
TUBBYS SISTER hung inwards on the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
BIG LUCY hung inwards in the home straight.

HAZEL ALICE after commencing to score up behind the mobile attempted to run out the gate and swung around refusing to move, losing all chance in the race. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier record of HAZEL ALICE.
THE BOG broke as the start was effected losing all chance.
YOUNG STRANGER hung inwards racing into the first bend.
ODE TO SUCCESS hung inwards and struck several pylons rounding the first bend.
DUCHESS DIEDRE and ZHENYA raced wide in the early stages.
ODE TO SUCCESS over-raced passing the 400 metres.
NATURAL struck several pylons on the final bend
LOTHARIO trotted roughly near the 300 metres and continued to trot roughly throughout the run home.
ZHENYA hung inwards on the final bend.
YOUNG STRANGER trotted roughly rounding the final bend and in the run home.
ASTRAPI broke near the 100 metres.
DUCHESS DIEDRE broke passing the 50 metres.

THATSHOWIE ROLL and TWICE THE DELIGHT broke at the start.
NO WAY ELSE tangled at the start.
CRYING OUT LOUD and NO WAY ELSE raced keenly in the middle stages.
Near the 300 metres ARDWELLS KEY was placed in restricted room when EARTHSHAKER (G Smith) shifted ground outwards in search of clear running. Driver G Smith was shown a replay and warned for the manner in which he shifted ground.
CRYING OUT LOUD hung inwards on the final bend.
HALSTON BROMAC struck several pylons on the final bend.
LACROIX FRANCO hung outwards and paced roughly near the 200 metres.
NO WAY ELSE hung inwards in the run home.
SO YOU THINK was held up for clear racing room over the concluding stages.
