When questioned in regard to the performance of NO DOCTOR NEEDED, driver J Dunn advised after attempting to lead near the 1700 metres the gelding had been left to race parked on a fast pace and this had taken its toll over the concluding stages. Driver L Chin was questioned regarding the tactics adopted during the middle stages with regard to his decision to hold the lead when challenged by WANNA PLAY (favourite) near the 2200 metres and then again near the 1600 metres. Driver L Chin stated that after beginning well it was his intention to lead and that he was only pressured briefly on each occasion before then handing up the lead when challenged by JOGO BONITO approaching the 1000 metres. Mr Chin was advised that his drive had caused Stewards some concern given his horse's performance over the concluding stages and that he would be expected to show better judgement given similar circumstances in the future.
