Pre-race blood testing was conducted.
Alcohol breath testing was conducted on all drivers this evening with all drivers providing clear results.
Trainer B Negus advised the Stewards SPECIAL DELIGHT would be driven in a more aggressive manner this evening due to the mare lacking a sharp sprint. These tactics were passed onto Trackside for forwarding for public information.

Race 1 KEEP IT CLEAN HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
CUM LAUDE broke briefly at the start.
HOPE AND PRAY broke approaching the 1700 metre mark.
Shortly afterwards LADY HEST broke losing its chance.
MISS COCO which had been in the trailing position for the majority of the race commenced to give ground from the 800 metre mark with the trailing JAG'S SON being held up. The connections of MISS COCO were warned to improve the racing performance of their mare.
LIMA LAD which had commenced to give ground under pressure broke with 500 metres to run.
ILLUSTRIOUS QUEEN which was leading broke at the 300 metre mark losing its chance.
CUM LAUDE was briefly inconvenienced passing the 200 metre mark by the breaking ILLUSTRIOUS QUEEN.
There was a delay to the authorisation of payments due to a malfunction with the Trackside replays.
 
Race 2 PRYDES EASIFEED TROT Video  Video 
ALEXANDRA LEAVING broke just after the start losing considerable ground.
DAVEY'S GIFT, NO POTATO and FACE VALUE all broke rounding the first bend.
FACE VALUE broke again near the 1800 metre mark with the mare subsequently being pulled up by driver R Close.
MOA BONES and DAVEY'S GIFT both hung inwards rounding the bends.
MUM BEAT LYALL broke with approximately 450 metres to run with DAVEY'S GIFT breaking shortly afterwards.
SAPPY'S BRITE STAR broke while leading nearing the 250 metre mark.
ALEXANDRA LEAVING broke again with 200 metres to run.
The Stewards withheld authorisation of forth placing being awarded to DAVEY'S GIFT until the Stewards had viewed the replays of when DAVEY'S GIFT broke during the running. After viewing the replays it was established that DAVEY'S GIFT had not breached the Breaking Horse Regulations on either occasion and forth placing was authorised.
When questioned regarding the performance of the favourite NO POTATO, driver D Dunn advised the Stewards NO POTATO broke when he momentarily checked off another runner and then hung during the running. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination of NO POTATO. The examination revealed NO POTATO to be lethargic in its recovery and was showing signs of tying up with the connections advising they would be conducting blood tests on the gelding prior to its next race at Wairio on Saturday the 20th of December.
Driver S Ottley advised that SAPPY'S BRITE STAR had hung in briefly causing it to break approaching the home straight.
 
Race 3 DUNEDIN HOLIDAY PARK TROT Video  Video 
MR MAJESTIC broke after approximately 250 metres and failed to settle for a considerable distance.
FINAL SECRET broke with 2250 metres to run before settling several lengths off the back of the field.
ARMORI made the final bend awkwardly.
 
Race 4 WASHINGTON VC FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
FALCON ASSET broke over the early stages of the score up however recovered to take its rightful position at the dispatch point.
ARDEN'S ROCKSTAR paced roughly and broke racing into the first bend briefly inconveniencing FALCON ASSET. ARDEN'S ROCKSTAR broke again rounding the final bend and failed to settle with driver C Ferguson advising that the filly had paced roughly throughout the event.
MY HORSE MY RULES paced roughly and made the bend awkwardly when challenging for the lead after approximately 250 metres.
NEWMANS JET momentarily raced wider on the track passing the 1300 metre mark when MEDIA QUEEN initially shifted ground on its inside.
MEDIA QUEEN raced keenly when being restrained near the 1200 metre mark.
When attempting to improve three wide with 1000 metres to run BABY FERN hung inwards and had to be restrained.
BETTAKATETHANNEVA paced roughly briefly when being restrained to take cover behind the improving MEDIA QUEEN. BETTAKATETHANNEVA was then obliged to race wide for the remainder of the race.
Nearing the 400 metre mark FALCON ASSET hung inwards when racing to the outside of SUMTALA with SUMTALA pacing roughly for several strides.
Drivers M Williamson (FALCON ASSET) and N Williamson (BABY FERN) both reported to the Stewards that their respective drives had hung inwards during the running. Driver M Williamson (FALCON ASSET) further advised he had received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
 
Race 5 G J GARDNER MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
ARIZONA PETE and ARDEN'S ATTACK both broke briefly in the score up.
DIGITAL ART was back off the gate at the dispatch point with driver D Dunn advising that DIGITAL ART had hung in the score up resulting in the mare being back off the gate.
SOMEBEACH N CLOVELLY broke with 450 metres to run with trainer/driver A Faulks reporting that the gelding had struck its knee causing it to break.
THE TISBURY TERROR paced roughly rounding the final bend.
 
Race 6 STUNIN CULLEN SPRINT SERIES FINAL MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
THE SHAKEY MISTRESS paced roughly over the latter stages of the score up and through the early stages of the race.
A hopple carrier strap on CANDERDEL broke over the early stages. The gear was inspected by Stewards and found to be in good condition. Driver N Williamson advised that due to the broken hopple carrier strap CANDERDEL had over-raced.
UNIQUE CHANCE commenced to give ground from the 500 metre mark briefly impeding SICILIAN SECRET and THE SHAKEY MISTRESS. The Stewards requested a veterinary examination on UNIQUE CHANCE which revealed the horse had recovered well and there were no abnormalities. Co-trainer G Knight advised he would be discussing the future racing prospects of UNIQUE CHANCE in the upcoming days. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the entire.
ALEXY briefly raced in restricted room passing the 200 metre mark.
SICILIAN SECRET was held up through the early stages of the run home before being angled wider on the track for clear racing room.
 
Race 7 RICOH JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS paced roughly for a few strides when being steadied in the running line with 2150 metres to run.
ELBEAU hung and broke passing the 1500 metre mark.
TUSCALOOSA broke while challenging for the lead with 1200 metres to run before breaking again near the 700 metre mark with the gelding being retired from the event. Driver R Close advised the gelding had struck a knee causing it to break.
SPIRIT OF CHRONOS raced greenly when being angled outwards to improve three wide with 1100 metres to run.
 
Race 8 SPEIGHTS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
THINKING SMART hung inwards through the early stages.
HERE COMES MONKEY over-raced when being restrained to take cover behind the improving NICKLES N DIMES passing the 1200 metre mark.
Nearing the 1000 metre mark NICKLES N DIMES broke and checked HERE COMES MONKEY on its inside with the trailing MIAMI HEAT, THINKING SMART, RIGHTAROUND, ALTAR EGO, KILKENNY TURK and PEGASUS KOMMANDER all being inconvenienced during this incident.
With 900 metres to run KILKENNY TURK had to be restrained before shifting outwards onto RIGHTAROUND which was placed in restricted room briefly.
NICKLES N DIMES broke again with 300 metres to run. A warning was placed on the racing manners of this gelding.
KILKENNY TURK ran out of racing room over the concluding stages.
Just short of the winning post THINKING SMART hung inwards and had to be straightened by driver D Dunn.
Driver K Cox (RICHMOND HILL) reported she had received a punctured sulky tyre during the running.
 
Race 9 DUNEDIN CITY FORD PACE Video  Video 
MILLWOOD CHARITY, JACLYN SMITH, THE EDGE OF REASON and THAT CAT all broke at the start.
BILLY KLONDIKE was slow from the unruly position.
ROSALEE FRANCO hung outwards when attempting to improve to the lead rounding the first bend.
Near the 750 metre mark ROSALEE FRANCO and THE EDGE OF REASON locked wheels for a considerable distance with the trailing MILLWOOD CHARITY, WOODSTOCK, JACLYN SMITH, MARTIN MCGUINNESS, THAT CAT and OHCEE all being held up at this stage of the race.
WOODSTOCK was held up rounding the final bend.
Driver R McIlwrick advised the Stewards that ROSALEE FRANCO had hung during the running and he would be recommending gear alterations to the trainer R Crawford.
Driver R Close also advised the Stewards that BILLY KLONDIKE had hung during the race placing him in difficulty.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of PRIVATE JONES stable representative and driver S Ottley advised that the gelding had raced on the grass in its two previous performances and the stable was anticipating an improved performance this evening on the all-weather surface.
 
Race 10 SIGNPRINT CLAIMERS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
No horses were claimed from this race.
TUXEDO MAX broke while leading with 1400 metres to run with the trailing STERNS ARISING and SMOKE N GRIN being inconvenienced. TUXEDO MAX failed to settle for a considerable distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities with a warning placed on the racing manners of TUXEDO MAX.
TAGATAESE paced roughly rounding the final bend. Driver D Dunn advised the stewards TAGATAESE was striking a knee which caused it to become unbalanced and pace roughly. Co-trainer G Knight advised that he would have remedial farrier work completed in an attempt to improve the gelding's pacing action.
