Race 1 CANTERBURY SEED CO LTD TROT Video  Video 
PURE EMOTION and LE REVEUR broke at the start.
WAIHEMO ANGUS broke shortly after the start and again on a number of occasions.
MAJESTIC PEAK broke passing the 2600 metres.
PURE EMOTION over-raced in the middle stages.
Passing the 1400 metres TROUBLE ME broke.
When leading MAJESTIC PEAK broke with 750 metres to run causing an easing of the pace resulting in NEED SUCCESS, LE REVEUR, TEHORO RUBY and TEHORO HOLLY having to be steadied. This resulted in PURE EMOTION becoming awkwardly positioned to the inside of TEHORO HOLLY.
TEHORO HOLLY broke at the 600 metres.
SQUIRE JOHN raced greenly rounding the final bend.
SQUIRE JOHN and PURE EMOTION broke passing the 200 metres.
GALLEONS ROYALE trotted roughly over the final stages.
Stewards interviewed drivers N Burton (PURE EMOTION), P Wakelin (SQUIRE JOHN) and J Harrington (TEHORO HOLLY) in relation to the breaking of TEHORO HOLLY near the 600 metres. After hearing from the drivers and viewing the films, Stewards could not apportion blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further.
 
Race 2 PLACEMAKERS ASHBURTON MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LANDLOCH swung round in the preliminary and came into contact with BIRD OF PARADISE with both horses being unharmed.
Racing into the first bend WONEATA G broke losing its chance. The connections were advised the mare must trial on one occasion.
Near the 1800 metres IRON MAN hung inwards placing JAY DUB in restricted room which struck a pylon. As a result SIR REDWOOD which was racing back on the inner shied at the pylon and broke.
JOHN DOE was held up in the early stages of the run home.
YIPPE KI YAY was held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 3 RAY MAYNE HOSE & FITTINGS LTD MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
QUEEN'S ADVOCATE was back at the start. Driver A Veint when questioned in relation to this advised the mare had paced roughly on occasions in the score up and as a result was back at the start. Stewards acknowledged that QUEEN'S ADVOCATE had paced roughly but advised Mr Veint to make a greater effort to be on the mobile in the initial stages.
Driver M Neilson (FLEETING GRIN) dropped her foot from the sulky rest with 1800 metres to run.
FLEETING GRIN raced greenly over the concluding stages.
Junior Driver M Neilson assisted by M Jones, admitted using her whip in an excessive manner when driving FLEETING GRIN. After viewing the films and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $300.
 
Race 4 PRODIGAL SEELSTER CANTERBURY SUMMER OF SPEED SERIES (MOBILE) Video  Video 
ROXY BROMAC was checked by the on course Veterinarian and cleared to start.
JUSTALITTLEBETTOR broke in the middle stages of the score up being back several lengths at the start. The connections were warned to improve the mare's mobile barrier manners.
Passing the 700 metres ROXY BROMAC paced roughly and broke and then as a result slipped in behind losing its chance.
EVA SOPHNALLY was held up in the middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 5 DARFIELD HOTEL FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
The murphy blind was removed from CULLENS FIRST MEDDLE prior to the start after the filly warmed up unfavourably.
Shortly after the start FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT broke inconveniencing HEY KNOWCHANGE momentarily and lost its chance. The connections of FAMOUS BLUE RAINCOAT were warned to improve the filly's mobile manners.
Racing into the first bend CULLENS FIRST MEDDLE broke losing its chance with the connections warned to improve the filly's racing manners.
SUDDEN CHANGE hung inwards and struck several pylons on the first bend with the trailing ART EXHIBIT jumping a pylon and breaking briefly.
SUDDEN CHANGE over-raced in the middle stages.
SUDDEN CHANGE was held up in the middle stages of the run home.
THINGAMAJIG hung inwards throughout the run home and broke passing the 50 metres. The connections of THINGAMAJIG were warned to improve the mare's racing manners.
Driver T Williams advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner TAKE TO THE SKY.
 
Race 6 TEXTILE BAG & SACK PACE Video  Video 
DEFY THE ODDS and COMEKISSMEQUICK broke at the start with COMEKISSMEQUICK shifting outwards inconveniencing COMACHO and CHASING SHADOWS with COMEKISSMEQUICK making contact with the outside fence. COMEKISSMEQUICK was declared unruly for future standing start events.
INCHBONNIE LAD over-raced in the middle stages.
MOON ANGEL over-raced when racing in the trail on the final bend.
THE PERSUADER was held up in the run home.
SOUNDS ORSUM hung inwards and paced roughly over the concluding stages.
 
Race 7 NEUMANNS TYRE SERVICES HANDICAP TROT Video  Video 
SUENO broke at the start and shifted up the track dictating SUNGAIT SALLY outwards onto MRS TWOBOB which broke.
ASTRAPI also broke at the start.
FILIGREE SHEREE and REGAL MOMENT broke in the initial stages.
Racing into the first bend PAMMYS BOY broke while XMAS JOYELLA paced and had to be restrained back into its correct gait.
Near the 1100 metres YOUNG STRANGER broke.
DANKE broke approaching the 800 metres.
JAMES CASTLETON broke rounding the final bend.
ASTRAPI broke near the 300 metres.
Authorisation of 4th placing being awarded to PAMMYS BOY was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking racing into the first bend.
Driver P O'Reilly advised he did not activate the removable deafeners on the winner NEVER FEAR.
 
Race 8 TOWNSEND SEEDS INTERNATIONAL LTD HANDICAP PACE Video  Video 
SMOKIN CHICK refused to move away with the front line horses and as a result GREENBURN CREEK which was improving from the 10 metre line was checked and dislodged driver K Butt onto the shaft of WOODLEA LEGEND. GREENBURN CREEK was able to be captured immediately with SMOKIN CHICK being retired from the event. SMOKIN CHICK will now be drawn unruly for future standing start events. Driver K Butt was checked by St Johns ambulance staff and cleared of any injury.
 
Race 9 METHVEN FOUR SQUARE SUPERMARKET TROTTERS GREEN (MOBILE) MILE Video  Video 
A false start was declared after ANOTHER LOVE broke and interfered with JACCKA JUSTY on the second line. Driver C Middleton elected to remain in his position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the mobile barrier manners of ANOTHER LOVE.
DONALDSON broke at the start.
UNCAS broke in the early stages.
VULCAN brushed pylons rounding the final bend.
ANOTHER LOVE broke near the 350 metres.
QUALITY INVASION broke near the 200 metres.
UNCAS broke near the 150 metres.
LIVE THE DREAM was held up in the middle stages of the run home.
 
Race 10 SMITH SEEDS MOBILE PACE Video  Video 
LIGHTNING MACH was a late scratching at 11.30am with a veterinary certificate to be provided.
SAILING ON was held up in the middle stages of the run home.
JAYCEES BELLE hung outwards in the run home.
 
Race 11 METHVEN FOUR SQUARE SUPERMARKET PACERS GREEN (MOBILE) MILE Video  Video 
FLYOVER broke with 350 metres to run.
ISAIAH hung outwards in the initial stages of the run home.
JASON RULZ was held up in the initial stages of the run home.
Co-trainer M Purdon advised it was their intention to retire FLY LIKE AN EAGLE.
Driver D Dunn advised that BIT OF A LEGEND was not suited to the prevailing track conditions.
 
Race 12 GLUYAS MOTOR GROUP PACE Video  Video 
HESTIA FRANCO, WAIKARI CASH and SPECIAL BELLA tangled away.
GIMMEGOLD and ARDWELLS KEY broke at the start.
Rounding the final bend WESTBURN JEWEL paced roughly with the trailing SPECIAL BELLA having to take evasive action which resulted in the mare slipping and then breaking losing its chance. This in turn inconvenienced ARDWELLS KEY.
JACK HAMMER paced roughly passing the 200 metres.
GIMMEGOLD stumbled after the post. When questioned regarding the performance of GIMMEGOLD trainer/driver J Hay explained the gelding had been unsuited to the prevailing track conditions.
